I would split open my heart with a knife, place you within and sealed my wound, that you might dwell there and never inhabit another.
-Ibn Hazm-

It didn't take a long time for the black wolf to finish those monkers. He moved swiftly and gracefully, despite the deathly blow that he carried with him.
On the other hand, Madissa, the woman who controls those monks, didn't seem to have any change in her facial expression even though her armies were being killed brutally. She didn't even flinch when one of the monker's heads rolled on the ground and stopped on her feet.
The fight was rather barbarous and the only sound that Apple could hear was Kama's ferocious roar since those monks didn't produce any sound.
However, what made Apple slightly feel better was the fact that Drustan didn't leave her alone. In fact, he stayed there, unmoved, and kept Apple hiding behind his broad back until the fight was ended by the black wolf, who tore the last monker's body into pieces.
A long howl echoed in that empty alley as if announcing that he had won the fight and he was ready for another battle.
The black wolf then stayed beside Drustan, seethed his fangs toward Madissa.
[Should I kill her too?] Kama asked Drustan permission through a mind-link. He was eager to cross his claws over her chest and ugly face.
Drustan just glanced at Kama when he replied curtly. [No. Stay here.] and then he glanced at Apple, who was standing behind him and it didn't need a lot of effort for Kama to understand what Drustan wanted, thus he took a step back and brushed his soft fur against Apple's leg as if to tell her that he was there and she should stop clinging onto Drustan.
Yet, all Kama got was only a frown from Apple, as she tightened her grip on Drustan Jacket, rendering the man unable to move away from her.
After the display of strength that the black wolf showed her, she still thought he was not safe with him and chose to hide behind Drustan.
"Wow." Madissa clapped her hands and gave Drustan a look. "Do you really protect her? I don't believe it if I don't see with my own eyes."
Drustan didn't say anything. He seemed like the type of person who didn't want to waste a single breath on someone that he thought wasn't worth it, but on the other hand, he wouldn't take this situation lightly, as he knew what Madissa could do.
Kama indeed managed to kill all the monkers, but to fight Madissa, this evil creature was on a different level from the black werewolf.
"Who is she? Can I see her face again, so I can greet her when I meet her," Madissa said cheerfully as if she was happy to have a new friend.
"I don't want you to greet me, don't meet me," Apple said with a slightly loud voice from behind her hiding place.
Apple wasn't happy at all, she didn't want any creatures to greet her. Well, except for this man. She couldn't describe how glad she was when Drustan chose to stay by her side and let the wolf do the job.
For a moment, Apple thought she saw it wrong, but the black wolf seemed to snicker at her statement.
"Leave her alone Madissa." Drustan reached out his hand and grabbed Apple's wrist and walked ahead.
Since Madissa had seen her, there was nothing that he could do to hide her anymore. Because the more Madissa thought that Apple was significant for him, then the more she was in danger.
"Or what?" Madissa raised her chin arrogantly, folding her arms in front of her chest to show her big boobs.
Drustan kept walking with Apple beside her toward Madissa without fear and this pissed her off because he put the human girl in an open area, where she could attack her easily. Wasn't she important to him?
In this case, Madissa itched to test her intuition, whether she was right or wrong.
Therefore, without any notice, Madissa made a move on Apple, a long and sharp nail-like blade elongated from her index finger when she pushed the human girl against the wall at inhuman speed, catching Apple by surprise.
One second she was walking beside Drustan, as that man was holding her hand, but in the next second her back was hit to the wall and the pain immediately spread in her system, yet she didn't have time to complain when she felt something sharp was pressed against her neck.
However, it was not only Madissa, who could move that fast. Drustan knew that Madissa would try this, but he thought he would let her have her way with Apple, yet when he saw the girl's life was hanging by a thread, his instinct kicked in and in the next second, he already had Madissa's face against his palm, as his sharp claws stabbed her cold skin.
"Let her go," Drustan said in a low and dangerous voice.
With Drustan palm over her face, Madissa couldn't see the man's expression, but sure enough, she could still feel Apple's ragged breathing and blood that trickled down from her neck.
"So, it is true that she is important to you," Madissa guffawed gleefully. "What if I kill her, what will you do?"
"Kill her then," Drustan said languidly. "And I will curse your face. You can live your eternity with a crushed face."
Any creature in this astral realm would have known how proud Madissa was with her beautiful face, therefore to live her eternity with grotesque appearance was a hard punishment for her.
"Let go of me and I will set her free," Madissa tried to bargain, yet Drustan didn't budge. "Okay, okay. I will let her go. I let her go!"
Madissa then pulled her hand from Apple away, who immediately ran toward Drustan and stayed beside him, she was holding her neck in shock.
"Let me go!" she screamed at Drustan in frustration.
