Elliot Knows Her Secret

"Are you leaving right now?" Calypso asked, Serenity nodded in response.

"I'll pick you up again later." He says.

"If you insist." Serenity said.

Serenity swam past the reef, an underwater paradise. A large, living breathing structure of unimaginable organisms that survived in harmony. It was pure aesthetic scenery. A sea turtle gracefully swam up behind her. Some goldfish hiding from the crimson-red anemones. A stingray had meticulously camouflaged itself under the fine grains of sand, waiting in ambush as a silvery-grey salmon mindlessly drifted too close.

"Mom look at that!" Serenity looked at the kid who shouted and she was so shocked when the boy's finger pointed at her.

"What is it, Elliot?" His Mom asked.

"Over there Mom it has tails! I think it's a mermaid!" Serenity hid in the closest rock she could hide.

"I'm glad I didn't get caught." She sighed in relief. She resumed swimming to where she was supposed to go.

"It's good that the dress and Nava are still here." Serenity wore the dress, it was a little dirty because it was color white.

She was sitting on the shore and her tail was in the water but even then it's still visible because of its color. She doesn't know why her tail is glowing. Serenity touched the pearl on the necklace she was wearing and closed her eyes.

Little did Serenity know that Elliot left her Mama and followed her. "Woah... You're really a mermaid." Serenity suddenly opened her eyes in fear and looked at Elliot who had seen her a while ago.

'Why is he here? What will I do? I took the Nava.'

"D-do you want some? I'll give it to you. It's very delicious..." Serenity offered him some Nava. Elliot looked at her in surprise but even so, he still took the Nava Serenity was holding and sat down next to her.

The soothing sound of the waves crashing on the shore. The natural white noise of running water drowns out all other noises.

Serenity looked at the boy next to her and noticed that she was no longer afraid of him. She looked at the waves when their eyes met. Serenity can see the waves touching Elliot's feet. She moved away from him when Elliot touched her tail.

"Woah!" He said amazingly.

"D-don't..." Serenity said while Elliot was still touching her tail that it made her feel a tickling sensation.

"I just saw a mermaid and I'm so happy now." He said smiling that made him stand but later on, he sat down next to her again.

"Did you know Ms. Mermaid, Mom always tells me about the mermaids..." Elliot smiled while looking at the sky.

"I want to introduce you to my classmates Ms. Mermaid." He said.

"No, it's just our secret." Serenity said.

"I'm Serenity. What's your name?" Serenity asked him.

"Elliot," he said. Serenity was surprised when Elliot came up to her and hugged her.

"Ms. Mermaid, your pearl is glowing." They looked at Serenity's pearl and it was glowing.

"Elliot, remember it's our secret." Serenity told him and he nodded. Elliot ate some Navas while looking at the ocean. Serenity touched the pearl again and closed her eyes. She takes a deep breath and, "I want to be a human again."

"M-Ms. Mermaid..."

"What's happening to you?" Serenity smiled at Elliot and looked at her tail that's glowing.

"Ms. Mermaid is that still you?" Elliot asked her.

Serenity laughed at his question and replied, "Yes." She stood up and carried the remaining Nava and the towel that's already dry.

"Come on and maybe the one you're calling Mom is looking for you." Elliot stood up smiling at Serenity and held her hand.

"Ms. Mermaid I still can't really believe that your tail became legs." Serenity stopped and she kneeled down so that Elliot had to look her in the face.

"It's just a secret between the two of us, promise me." Serenity said.

"I promised Ms. Mermaid, pinky promise." Elliot locked their pinkies to signify that a promise had been made. Elliot took Serenity's hand again and then they started walking. They both looked at the woman shouting Elliot's name.

"Is she your Mom?" He nodded in response to her question.

"Elliot!" His Mom hugged him as soon as she saw him but Elliot still wouldn't let go of Serenity's hand.

"Mom, she's Ms. Mermaid.'' Serenity's eyes widened at what Elliot said but his Mom just smiled and stared at her.

"I'm sorry, he just really loves mermaids." Elliot's Mom said.

"It's okay." Serenity said.

"Elliot don't call her Ms. Mermaid because she's not a mermaid, okay?" Elliot looked at Serenity.

"She looks like a mermaid." Elliot reasoned.

"Serenity?" She turned around and saw Zephyr with a large smile, standing a few feet away from her.

"Ms. Mermaid do you know him?" Elliot asked Serenity.

"Elliot stop calling her that." His Mom authoritatively said.

"It's really okay with me." Serenity said while smiling and not noticing that her pearl's glowing again.

"I'm Serenity." She introduced herself.

"All right Serenity thank you so much for taking care of my son a while ago." They smiled before they walked away from her.

The fragrant ocean breeze was chilly as it brushed my skin, and the movements of my white dress fell into the rhythm of the ebb and flow of waves. "You still have that Nava huh?" Serenity looked at the Nava she was holding and handed him the other one.

"Let's share." He was surprised by the sudden reaction of Serenity but he still took what Serenity was handing to him. Zephyr told her that he would buy drinks first because he was thirsty due to the heat of the weather.

"MS. MERMAID!" Serenity turned around to see Elliot running towards her. Elliot cried, and rushed on, clinging to Serenity, dragging her on. She kneeled down so that she could look at Elliot properly.

Serenity wiped the tears and sweat dripping from Elliot's face. "What's the problem?" He caught his breath before answering her question.

"Help... My friend..." He said breathlessly.

"Your friend?" She asked.

"There..." He pointed to the ocean and Serenity suddenly stood up when she saw a child drowning. She looked around and saw that there weren't many people so she immediately ran to the drowning child.

"HEY SERENITY! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" She ignored Zephyr. Serenity had no choice but to inflate her lungs and dive into the clear ocean water. She's not used to swimming with her legs but she still continues to swim even though she's having a hard time.

'I need to save Elliot's friend.'

She ducked under the water and swam closer to the child. Serenity goes behind her and grabs underneath her arms and she uses her legs to kick when suddenly she began to feel dizzy.

"... Calypso... help." And suddenly Serenity lost consciousness but before that, she could hear Zephyr calling her name.
