Short-Chilling Reflection

A flash of white light gleamed the endless-darkness view before it faded away in an instant, unveiling the present world view within Hatoshi's opened eyes. A schoolboy who lied down on the frigid metal bed on The Chemist's secret base as he felt his spine shiver when getting up the upper body.

Hatoshi even rubbed his hefty arms with the coldness of the room and continued to fill the room, encouraging him to initiate a quick survey on the base with his sleepy eyes. His sight caught the glimpse of Chemistra took a hushed seat on the chair, turned her observative stare onto him

The Chemist swiftly lifted her feet from the bluish-holographic chair and headed toward the schoolboy. A sorrowful wince popped out on Hatoshi's face due to his mind flashed a moment of encountering the long-forgotten hero who had now become his greatest enemy or added as the new members of Sparror's villain gallery.

A moment when he was still maintaining the Sparror's suit and located in front of Masafumi Highschool, declaring another conversation with Sadari. Although the past moments blinked out into dispersing ashes inside his mind, a gloomy frown colored Hatoshi's face shortly as he darted at the ground below.

The schoolboy also clenched both of his trembling fists with the perturbed moments of Sadari mindlessly attacking him burnt through the depth of his mind. Luckily, Hatoshi took a deep sigh of relief for cooling down his mind and opened his fists when it became more stable, stopping Chemistra's approaching steps.

"Sorry Chemistra, I couldn't capture her," Hatoshi announced with a bitter tone. "Not only was she quite strong, I still wanted to talk in a thought-like mood…I guess."

Even though I managed to put the talking thoughts aside, I still had some hesitation on not hurting her." Hatoshi added.

Hatoshi grunted, "To be honest, it's still quite hard to control it for me."

"Maybe…I had a hope that I could..cure her corruption." Hatoshi said with unnerving eyebrows that went down on his face.

Chemistra nodded firmly and guessed, "Because your soft human mind told you to guide her into the better path in a pacifist kind of way?"

The response didn't break free from Hatoshi's lung as he put his wandering head down, darting his sight at the cold floor below. Then, the schoolboy commanded his feet to step forward and regained a standing position as his mind remained to dig in order to find the suitable answer for The Chemist.

Eventually, the schoolboy cleared his sore throat as the upcoming answer was grasped by his mind. Hatoshi briskly turned his sight toward his chemist's friend and readied himself to presume the continuation of their chilling conversation, especially with Chemistra sternly darted her cybernetic eyes at him.

"You could say that." Hatoshi groaned before releasing a brief chuckle due to a temporal image of Zero coldly standing up emerging inside his mind.

"Sorry to cut off the main topic, I think…you quite reminded me of Zero," Hatoshi added. "The only difference is you are less robotic compared to him."

Chemistra rolled her eyes and uttered, "Perhaps you have some good point."

"Back to the main topic. I understand the pacifist feeling may bother your mind, but you did a decent job on handling it compared to other teenage Superheroes." Chemistra said calmly.

Bemused eyebrows were raised on Hatoshi's face when he sharpened his glance toward The Chemist. Moreover, the schoolboy turned around his body fully at Chemistra who crossed both of her hands in a stoic, yet resilient demeanor.

"You..meant that at least..I could still have an urge to fight her?" Hatoshi guessed with a puzzled look planted on his face.

Chemistra firmly nodded, "Yes."

"Small reminder, not all corrupted souls can be helped. Unfortunately, Sadari is one of the souls." Chemistra mentioned with a stoic tone, making the schoolboy drop a shocking jaw. "Or a corrupted person you couldn't save in a logical way.

"That's all I could say regarding the current problem," Chemistra added with a chilling tone..

However, Hatoshi reluctantly shook his head and closed his despondent eyes in a split second, preventing the guilty thought from boiling over him. Instead, the schoolboy unfolded an affirmative glare to his chemist friend and tilted his head to the left shortly.

"Well….I'll consider that later. '' Hatoshi uttered bluntly before he thankfully nodded. "Thank you for sharing the advice and your point of view in this situation, Chemistra."

"Because it might be a good lesson for me to continue this heroic activity," Hatoshi added with his voice showered by bitter confidence.

The Chemist rubbed her chin as curiosity swarmed her cybernetic's mind, flickering a green sparkle on the eyeballs. Hence, Chemistra returned her hand to the crossing position due to the precise argument being grasped by her mind and ready to be announced to the schoolboy who temporarily darted a gloomy furrow.

"Based on what I saw on you, you had a good determination on becoming a Superhero, but there is one weakness that remains in you until this day," Chemistra mentioned rigidly and pointed to Hatoshi with one of the bulky needle fingers.

"Am I too soft or just less experienced compared to you?" Hatoshi guessed worriedly.

Chemistra shook her head and uttered, "You didn't like the idea of heroes fighting each other and unluckily, Sadari was in fact a hero."

Hatoshi reluctantly nodded with him gritting the unnerving teeth "You guess is correct Chemistra."

"But..don't worry about it, I'll find a way to control it as this heroic activity continues," Hatoshi reassured with a repose tone.

Afterward, a sudden-surprise frown clouded Hatoshi's entire face as his mind sparked crucial reminders that might occur during the time when he almost captured Sadari. Nonetheless, the schoolboy pinched his chin and exhaled a gasp in order to set prepare for announcing a reminder to his chemist friend.

"Anyway, I had several questions that I needed to ask you, especially when I was knocked out back then." Hatoshi declared with him releasing a sigh and began to let out the questions being safely kept.

"Okay here is the first question, what happened to the citizen whom I rescued from Sadari?" Hatoshi blurted out the question with a mix of polite and skeptical invading his mind as he bit his lips.

Chemistra rested down the crossing hands and rotated her observative eyes to the left, filling the stern mood. Another topic for the late-night discussion between The Flaming Hero who reverted into his human form and the chilling Chemist Hero.

"The hostages were already being evacuated safely from the crime scene after I found you unconscious," Chemistra answered with a stoic tone and watched the schoolboy giving a gladful nod.

"Were the hostages evacuated by the cleaning up team?" Hatoshi guessed and released another question, "Also were they fine right now?"

"Computer showed me the evidence from two hours ago," Chemistra ordered.

The Chemist snapped the metal finger on the bulky gauntlet and a high-pitch hopping noise resonated in Hatoshi's ear, originating from the bluish-holographic screens behind her. It lured the schoolboy to take a few heedful steps forward especially when the holographic screen soared the illuminating light onto him.

A shocked frown vastly covered the entirety of Hatoshi's face when his concise gaze caught the group of pictures around ten, being contained in rectangular frames emerging on the screen. Several pictures completely unveiled the dreaded pale-white face of Sadari's recent victim, broadly dropping their jaw in unrelenting horror.

Hatoshi could only shake his shivering neck the longer he glanced at the pictures, taking a few steps backward. Then, the schoolboy steered his attention onto Chemistra who already turned her body into his sight once again, achieving reposed anticipation of prolonging the period of the midnight time conversation as she pinned the assertive eyes.

"Like the previous victims, they are all fine," Chemistra explained calmly as her wiry-needle finger marked the chosen picture located on the very bottom of her screen before she retrieved her finger.

"Mostly suffering paralyzed state for around two until three hours." The Chemist added.

Hatoshi sighed in relief and said, "Ah thank you for hearing that."

"Anyway, I had another question that I should ask yesterday night," Hatoshi mentioned as his mind folded by the question that often fell down to be forgotten.

"Are the victims still…able to live like a normal person?" Hatoshi asked with a little spark of worriedness appearing in his lungs.

Chemistra released another firm nod and said with a stoic tone, "Yes they are, but they tend to become more traumatic."

"I see," Hatoshi replied gladly and release a forceful smile. "Well at least..there is a positive thing happening."

"Sadari didn't kill the hostages," Hatoshi added with him opening a smile of gratefulness, convincing Chemistra to roll her cybernetic eyes in bitter annoyance.

Then, the schoolboy widened another round of surprised frowns and forced him to initiate a quick survey from left to right. A crystal clear image of Agano alongside his hulking-partner robot cleanly projected within Hatoshi's vision for a brief second, switching his attention onto Chemistra once again.

"Anyway, did you know Mr.Agano's whereabouts?" Hatoshi asked politely as he lowered his head shortly

Chemistra grunted, "He was already gone home earlier."

"However, Agano would be back tomorrow morning for another investigation about this case." Chemistra spoke.

Hatoshi extended his smirk and uttered, "Ah I see, well thank you for sharing that information."

Afterward, Chemistra tacitly tilted her head to the left as her sharp-hearing precisely caught the out loud ringtone noise. A high-pitched ringtone that vibrated on Hatoshi's left thigh with him commanded the clutching hand to go down into the inside of his pocket that was located on the black school pants.

A red case phone was pulled out and safely captured by the two-clutching fingers of Hatoshi's. He immediately tapped a button on the middle below of his phone, shutting down the ringtone noise in an instance and a soothing, yet tender-female breathing noise echoed to the secret base.

Hatoshi placidly nodded to Chemistra as he was in the brink of engaging the current phone call, "Excuse me, Chemistra. I got a call."

"Sure," Chemistra replied.

The Chemist perceived her observative state toward Hatoshi who positioned the red case phone beside his ear and cleared his throat. Hence, the phone conversation had begun and it was a relieving start due to the schoolboy extending his smile after hearing the greeting from the voice of his close partner, Yuna.

"I'm fine…how about you?" Hatoshi said with gladness shining inside his mind.

Yuna cheerfully giggled, "I am good and I'm now in your room because something bad happened."

"What is it…..Yuna?" Hatoshi asked with a frantic furrow painted all over his face and felt both of his legs constantly trembling.

Yuna released a hefty sigh and uttered with a struggling voice rang out from the gleaming phone, "Satoru was recently being kidnapped by….the forgotten hero, Sadari."
