The orange sleeve bent down to his level, and looked him in the eye. He felt threatened when she looked at him like that. 'Who the hell are you?' he swatted her. She looked up at the window and the rope, and scanned the scene for a second, before rising again. The blondie behind her was quiet and let her do her thing while she bit her nails. They both looked alike in terms of face structure and muscle tone.
'No one could've gotten inside with that rope and that icepick. Only someone lighter than a hundred pounds could've gotten in.' she stated. Audrey was very light for her age, she barely touches her food. The doctor said it was the hormones working up, and by the time she reached her sixteenth or fifteenth birthday she would start eating like a boar.
'My sister is ninety-seven pounds, very light for her age.' he remarked, hoping she'd say that it's still not possible.
'Hmmm…then yeah, it's totally possible.' She shrugged and walked to the other side.
'No wait!' he called, rising up very slow so he wouldn't crack anything. He really needs to rub some salt and hot water in those wounds, because god, they really ached!
Orange Sleeve didn't wait and just made her way to the front of the door. He ran to warn her about the door being shut when he noticed her grabbing something from her dark blue backpack.
It was a damn crowbar.
'Ok, Misty, you grab the backpack, I pry the door open, ok?' she asked the blond girl, who was hesitant at first, but later agreed.
'O-ok.' she nodded.
'Are you kidding me? Where did you get a crowbar from?' he yelled at them.
They paid no attention to him and slid the pointy side inside the gap in the door. And she started to push it so it acts like a lever. It didn't need that much force to open the rusty door. There wasn't even that much sound, only a little click at the end. 'They should be professional thieves.' he mumbled to himself.
'Are you kidding me? Where did you get a crowbar from?' he yelled at them.
'Hey! This is trespassing, do you know that?' he shouted. 'Maybe we should go, Belle, maybe he's right.' she whispered, fidgeting her hand. 'M-maybe we should go home and gather more tools so we could, you know, be more prepared to fight mutatnts later...' Blondina chimed.
But orange sleeve was very stubborn. 'No, not in a million years! Plus, he was doing the same, why shouldn't we?' she sneered, and shot a glare at him.
He shot one back and walked towards them as fast as he could to catch them red-handed. The blond girl looked threatened, unlike orange sleeve who looked like she could gobble him up any instant. She was younger than him, surprisingly but was still terrifying, like a little gremlin.
'Ignore him, let's get going.' she marched inside, leaving Blondie no choice but to do so as well.
'This is not conventional. Come back!' he yelled at them, but he knew it was no use to do so from outside. Do they know what they might be walking in on? Dangerous criminals and murderers. Creeps, vapers, smokers, alcoholics, and every bad person in the book. Idiot children, he cursed.
He had no choice, he can't go home without his children. His parents would flip. He groaned. He took a step inside, hesitantly, and tip-toed inside the house.

Audrey knew this was a bad idea the moment she fell into this house, but she just wanted to see if the rumors are true. They are not campfire stories, she knows it for sure.
She felt bad for leaving Artemis, but he was such a pain in the ass that she knew she had to ditch him somehow. She did feel guilty, but the thrill of the adventure killed it. She knew he would say something mean to her if she pushed his buttons, and he did. And then she would pretend to run away so she could glance at the mansion and come back, and apologize and makeup and whatever. It was a great plan until she realized she couldn't open the door. Luckily, she brought a rope and an icepick for the same exact reason and threw it with precision…after five throws.
She jumped in and realized there were no chandeliers like in the movies. It was very dark, and dusty and filled with cobwebs everywhere. She was going to cry and jump outside when she realized, she didn't pull the rope inwards to climb inside.
'Hah, no worries, there must be a door here somewhere', she chuckled and continued struggling to find the door.
She hit some furniture every ten meters and collapsed in some pile of dirt wherever she fell, and was already crying out loud as she forgot to bring a torch.
'It's ok, there must be a lamp or something somewhere.' she thought because it was a mansion after all.
A hundred-year-old abandoned mansion.
She pulled all the shelves and opened all cupboards. She can't feel anything. Something gooey got caught in her hand in one of them. She was about to cry when she heard some mumblings from outside.
Outside!
'Yes! This is my way out!' she thought, walking faster to reach the only source of light, when she saw Artemis standing outside shouting something!
'How did he know I was here?' she panicked and hid in a cupboard that she hit a few seconds ago.
But then again, it was very obvious, they were just talking about it.
She just needed time to find out about the potion, but she couldn't even navigate her way out.
She just needed time to find out about the secret laboratory, but she couldn't even navigate her way out.
She felt heavy footsteps roaming around the halls, but she couldn't detect exactly which direction it was coming from.
'Audrey! Audrey! Are you here?' she heard her brother call her out. She didn't dare breathe in fear of him catching her. When she heard the footsteps getting farther and farther, she heaved a sigh of relief. Until she felt something tingling in her skin.
It was a spider, its eyes gazing at her in all directions.
