Promise

Xavier was known as one of the most brutal greater demons with sharp acumen. Being a highly intelligent man, he was able to look at a situation in a straightforward manner, understand what was going on and then apply a suitable solution.

Xavier was feared in the business world and by those who knew him as a greater demon, one of the only ones to survive that fatal battle all those thousands of years ago.

However, he also had one fatal downfall and that was his ability to process the feelings he had for the woman he loved most. He always felt confused, he couldn't work out the right words to use or say to her to convey his honest feelings. He wrote her many love poems but had never sent them.

He thought for a moment and placed the handwritten note she had written inside of his journal's front cover to keep it safe, he felt unnerved. He didn't want to believe that it could be her after all these years.

Hope lifts your soul and gives you a hint of promise but it can also be deadly for your heart.

For Xavier who has loved and lost he was stuck in between wanting to believe and giving up entirely. He often felt a bitter sting in his heart for the promise that once was…

Deciding to go along with the note and visit Cass's house to see the mystery woman, he was anxious but he was also excited. He then glanced down at his outfit, it really wasn't suitable he thought.

He had a lounge built next to his office, it was more like a mini home adjacent to his office. Again it was as minimalist as his office was, with dark furniture.

He walked to a door to the left and it opened up into his own living quarters. He headed straight to the bathroom to take a shower, once he had finished he then walked into his walk in closet. The walk in closet had an array of designer clothing all hung up and ready to wear. A secretary he had never met had purchased them all for him.

After changing into a crisp freshly ironed white Armani shirt, a black pair of Armani trousers, he quickly slicked his black hair back with a comb. He chose a Rolex watch out of the collection of watches he had and he wore a pair of black Louis Vuitton leather shoes before stepping back into his office.

His perfectly chiselled features, along with his hair worn back, he looked aristocratic. His silver eyes made him seem ethereal. And standing at over six feet tall, his statuesque feature emitted a commanding and domineering aura.

He took a deep breath and teleported using his magic and one second later he arrived in Cass's Living room.

Cass and Oriana had enjoyed their date and they were now back home relaxing in the living room. It was nearly dinnertime and once again Selena had offered to cook for the three of them.

"I hate it when you do that!" exclaimed Cass as he held his heart when Xavier had appeared in front of him and his wife.

Xavier stood in the living room he have off the impression of being un-phased but his heart was beating out of his chest and his palms were sweaty. He clenched his fist.

Oriana smiled to herself she could see through his tough façade.

"Where..."Xavier was just about to ask where Selena was when he heard a sweet humming coming from the kitchen. His feet moved towards the heavenly sound before his mind could process his next move.

Cass went to stand and follow him but Oriana held his arm, "Let him go... would you want someone spoiling you meeting me?"

Cass smiled and remembered the day he meet his beautiful wife, "As always my wife is correct."

Cass settled back on the sofa with his wife, though they both gave Xavier and Selena space they listened intently, not wanting to miss anything.

He saw her small, beautiful face with flawless, porcelain like skin. He was instantly drawn to her, it was like the first moment he saw her all those years ago.

He felt his heart race, he was quickly allured by her charm, her smile lit up his cold broken heart and mended the cracks.

Xavier leaned against the doorway with his arms folded watching her, he couldn't take his eyes off her. He didn't want to disturb her, he could watch this scene forever.

Selena could not job hunt with Rai with her, so instead, she went grocery shopping and then she came straight back.

After changing into comfy home clothes, she was ready to cook. She was currently humming and swaying her body as she listened to her music on her earphones.

She loved to cook and listen to music at the same time as it always made her happy. She blissfully hummed and stirred the food.

As she turned to check on Rai, she froze in shock as she stared at the stranger in the doorway.

She held her heart and took out her earphones, "God you scared me." She said as she smiled nervously, his aura was intense.

"I'm definitely no God," Xavier smirked as she said this. He was a greater demon which was far from any God that he knew of.

Selena was taken aback, she didn't know how to take him, was this his humour. She obviously wasn't being literal she thought. She tried to calm her racing heart but she couldn't.

But her heart now raced as she noticed his deep smoky silver eyes, they were the colour of a gathering storm. Like lightning shot from those grey clouds.

Thinking that he must be one of Cass or Oriana's friends she smiled up at him. He was over a foot taller than her and his broad shoulders nearly filled the doorway. He was more God like in looks than he thought.

His otherworldly looks and his stunning features made her blush. His intense stare though made her a little intimidated, especially as his eyes followed her around the kitchen.

Mustering up all her courage she walked towards him and offered her hand to introduce herself, "Hi, my name is Selena. It's lovely to meet you!"
