His Trust In Me (2)

(Jason's POV)

I prepared everything Oscar told me. Even though it sounded weird I trust him. I wore the necklace. He said I might need it. I don't get it but I will see it soon enough.

Making sure that I get everything once again I left home. It is already dark outside. I talked with Oscar a few hours ago. He told me that last he went there, there were shady people. Have to be extra careful. And also there are the police. They still looking for the cause of the forest fire.

Thankfully the side of the forest in which the church resides did not burn. So I have plenty of room the hide myself. I slowly move towards the church with a lot of questions on my mind.

It's already a week from the day we went to church. What could he find there so important to keep a secret from me? I'm not blaming him or anything but while I trusted him with everything he kept a secret from me. This better is a world-changing thing or I will prank him so hard!

It was easier than I thought. I didn't see anyone on the way. The church was, still messy. I slowly walked inside from the sidewall. The hole on the wall was big enough for me to enter.

I approached the stone altar. Oscar said to me that he closed it. He really did. How the hell he could move this thing? It must be heavier than me! And I am only 55kg.

When I touched the altar something strange happened. I felt that necklace heat up. Before I could check it altar moved away and the stairs have been revealed.

Before moving down I check the necklace. It looked totally normal but slightly hot. Weird. Maybe what he said was true? Magic. Or he has the ultimate prank and I am the victim. The second option is more likely.

"If this is some kind of a prank, you started the fifth prank war! Or sixth, I'm not sure."

I walked down the stairs. They are made out of stone but still make cracking noises when I step on them. Exciting! That's what would Hope say if she was here. I would probably agree with her. But right now, I'm nervous. Maybe it is because of the talk with Oscar.

In just a few seconds I arrived at the pit. It looks deep. What I need to get is at the bottom. According to Oscar. I can climb up easily from the bottom. I hope you are right buddy. I jumped down the pit.

I fell on my knees. It hurts! I regret jumping down. I sit down at the place where I fell. Maybe I shouldn't have jump down. Anyway, is this the right place? It's so dark here. I hope some poisonous scorpion or some other bug won't bite me here. I'm kinda afraid of them, a little bit.

I take my flashlight and examine my surroundings. There were massive transparent crystals everywhere. How come no one ever found this place? They are massive! Wait a minute... When Oscar come out of the pit last time he showed me a crystal the size of his fist. Then when I said him that it was transparent he looked confused. But they ARE transparent.

While inspecting everywhere I found the real target. The lake. He told me to get a lot of bottles full of this... liquid. I thought that it would be water... but something is wrong. I don't know how to describe it but something at the back of my mind says it to me. What's going on?

When I get close to it a strange thought comes to my mind. Should I drink it? Oscar will drink it, so it must be safe, right? And this thing might be the answer I'm seeking. From that weird talk I... seek answers for the questions he planted inside of my mind. Maybe I am a little bit obsessive.

I sat down at the edge of the lake. This was definitely not water, it was thicker and denser than water. Somehow that definition sounds wrong. Anyway, it is clearly not water. I took some of it with my hands and slowly drink it.

It had a taste like blood. And... plastic maybe? Just a second later I felt my insides burn with an unbelieving heat. I lost my balance and fell into the lake. Wow, it is deeper than I thought. Ugh! Suddenly pain increased several times. I tried to open my eyes and regret it immediately.

My eyes burned. It was worse than anything I ever felt. Even more than what my older sister used to do. The pain was so bad that I forgot every other thing. With a rush, I come out of the lake.

"AGHH!! IT HURTS!!"

While the pain was bad enough I could feel something warm coming out of my eyes. Its texture and smell were familiar to me. Blood. An incredible fear overwhelmed me. Will I be blind from now on? No! I don't want that!

"I don't want that!!"

With a shout, I felt something leaving me. When that thing is left pain has weakened too. In a few seconds, the pain in my eyes was gone completely. When I opened them again, everything was different.

Some bright blue light dominated the cave I was in. It comes out of, crystals, liquid, and even the air itself. This... is what he was talking about.

"So it is real. Magic is real."

I looked at the lake. He wanted me to give him a lot of bottles full of this thing. He trusted me with this. Something bigger than us. Something can change the world. Suddenly his trust in me felt heavier than ever before.

Hmm? Is something burning? I turned around and saw a small fire was on the rock. Just a few seconds ago I felt something leaving my body. Is this it? While remembering that feeling I tried it again. This I could see it clearly. Fira comes out of my body.

When it left my body it turns into a dome and disappeared after a second. It is amazing! I can do magic! But I discovered something even more amazing afterward. I could see a faint red light where the dome was. When I focused on it I felt dizzy but a second later dome appeared there again. This time I wasn't even there!

"Amazing!"
