Chapter 1 2/3

Rose took a sip of her frozen yogurt. Joseph glancing round the shop sighed to himself.

"what's up?".....Rose asked him, noticing his uneasy look.

"what if we get caught?"..... he asked in a nervous tone.

"Relax, we wont"...

"look Rose, I can't get detention again or else my ma will kill me"....

Rose scoffed.

"i still don't how we're bestfriends when we are the complete opposite"....

"whatever"...

Joseph took a spoonful of youghurt and then paused, staring at Rose as though he suspected her for something.

"Do you still like Mark?"...he finally blurted out.

Rose coughed, almost choking on her youghurt.

" you mean captain of the basketball team, Most popular guy at school and coolest Jock ever?"...

"oh please. spare me the introduction ".....Joseph scoffed.

"If he's the one you're talking about, then yeah still got a crush on him".....

"do you live under a rock or something?".....

"Nope. But I guess Joseph Rooney does".....Rose teased him.

"Haha real funny".....he replied sarcastically.

"so what's___"...

"Hey Everybody Get down!!"..... Two large men barged into the Yoghurt shop, interrupting Rose's question.

They wore black face masks and held guns .

Everyone fell on their faces to the floor, trembling at the sound of the gunshots they shot randomly at the roof.

one of them went to the cashier behind the desk.

"Bring out the money now!".....

he yelled at the trembling lady.

Rose and Joseph layed down on the ground. thier faces opposite each other as though Rose's right ear was going to touch Joseph's left ear.

Joseph stretched out his hands, crying to himself.

"Dont kill me please I'm just a kid"....he cried continously.

Fear oozed in the air. the robbers had taken full control of the shop and began taking money and phones from each and every person that layed on the floor.

"would you stop crying?".....Rose whispered to Joseph in annoyance.

"i don't wanna die, I'm still a kid".....he ignored her and kept crying to himself as though the robbers would hear him.

"ugh".... Rose got up in annoyance.

"hey who asked you to get up!!".... one of the robbers raised his voice at her.

"i can't lie on the floor, I'm sorry. I still need to go back to school so I can't be dirty "...she replied Nonchalantly.

" Get down now or I'll shoot you!!".... The other turned, pointing his gun at her.

"please don't kill her, she's dumb but doesn't deserve to die".....Joseph cried out loud. his face still pressing hard against the floor.

Rose rolled her eyes at him and then looked back at the Robber.

" you know what's fun about stealing?"....she asked.

"What!".....he yelled.

"getting beat up by a teenage girl"....

before she even finished her sentence, she picked up a chair and knocked the gun out of his hand. she kicked him in the gut and slammed the chair on the head of the other goon.

he staggered backwards and looked at her. a cold glare in his eyes.

"Am gonna kill you".....

'Nahhh"..... she smirked.

she jumped unto one of the tables and came down on his face with a spinning kick, sending him down to the ground. the other raised a chair, about to hit her when she held unto his wrist, piercing her nails into his skin which released a green substance from her nails into his flesh. his veins all over turned black and he collapsed to the floor.

she rushed over and picked up Joseph, who still was shivering in fear.

"let's go".....she rushed her words and ran out the shop with him.

They ran into the street, ignoring the sound of the speeding cars honking as they passed by.

Joseph slowing down behind Rose, held unto her wrist. she stopped and turned to him . He looked tired and out of breath.

"hey are you okay, you wanna rest?"...she asked worriedly.

"yeah, stop for a moment. I feel like I'm gonna faint".....he panted.

"wow. I'm the one who kicked bad guys and you're the one who's tired "....she scoffed .

he ignored her, looking for his breath within himself.

"come on we gotta go"..... she waited for him to catch his breath.

"yeah, sure"..... he replied before They both continued running.

usually the halls were crowded even during classes. Seniors were usually chatting or strolling down the corridor but today, the place was awfully empty.

"shhhhhh".....Rose turned to Joseph as they tiptoed quietly to thier class.

a smile of relief grew on thier faces as they got to thier classroom door.

"ehem, where do you two think you're going?"... a cranky yet similar voice scared them from behind. Thier smiles faded into an uneasy look as they turned to see mr Greyson's cold and scary frown glaring at them.

"To the principal's office now!".....

he yelled.

"we just____"...Rose tried to come up with an excuse.

"Office Now!!"...

"yes sir".....

"yes sir"... they both concurred with an expression of regret written all over thier faces.

As soon as they finished receiving the scolding of thier lives from the principal, followed by a threat to call thier parents, they walked out of his office.

"whew, that was close".....

"whew that was close"..... they both said at the same time. They turned to each other and burst into laughter .

"That was an awesome waste of valuable school time".....Rose laughed.

"you're such a bad influence on me".....Joseph chuckled.

"so how did you do all that flying and kicking at the yoghurt shop?"....

Joseph asked as they made thier way down the hall.

"well, I wasted my childhood watching karate movies and hoping to meet Jackie chan in real life for an epic battle".....

"he's gonna cream you Rose".....

"yh I know. But it won't hurt to try".....she sighed.

A handsome tall guy that seemed to have been a senior with brown curly hair in a black leather jacket over black jeans accompanied by two other guys walked by. they played around with basket balls and chatted amongst themselves.

Rose's eyes and his met for a few seconds until she looked away shyly.

Joseph's happy mood changed into an annoyed and irritated one at the sight of them.

The senior paused and looked back at Rose that didn't stop but kept walking straight .

he signaled to the two other guys to wait and then called out to Rose.

"hey Rose".....he yelled.

her heart started pounding at the sound of her name from his mouth. she paused and turned slowly to him and so did Joseph.

he jogged to her and smiled.

"Hey Rose, long time no see"..... he smiled in a seductive way as though he was trying to get her to fall for him.

"hey Mark, how do you know my name?"....she answered. her head bowed in a shy and embarrassed way.

Why are you being so cute?".....he started running his fingers down the sides of her hair.

Joseph, boiling in anger walked to him and grabbed his wrist.

"what are you doing?".....mark raised his tone.

Joseph flunged his hand away from Rose's hair and then glared straight into his eyes.

"she isn't one of those girls so get lost".....He answered aggressively.

Rose turned to him in shock.

"Hey!!"....Mark yelled.

"come on Rose let's go".....Joseph grabbed her wrist and dragged her out of there, ignoring Mark's continously shouting.

"Hey nerd get back here!!".....
