New Talisman

(A/N: I'll edit this chap later. Enjoy!)

Penelope was sitting on the bed on the master's bedroom in a meditative position as she gathered the Profound and Elemental Energies in the surroundings.

Meanwhile, Ban was at the rooftop beside the pool playing with the little girl at the same time observing the activity of Penelope. He already oriented her to be careful about absorbing energies in his house since the energies were very dense.

After a few hours of playing and observing, Ban decided to inform Vernard about the news of Demon Beasts where the Divergents were running amock seaching for these beasts to hunt.

Of course, Vernard was alerted by the news and was now planning to double the security by deploying elite soldiers guarding the border of his region.

...

"Big brother, why are you playing with these shiny red stones?" Little Judith curiously asked as she picked a diamond stone.

Ban smiled and placed the little girl on his lap. He replied, "It's a present. Your big brother is making a necklace for you and your mommy." Ban picked up a finished necklace with a high quality ruby and placed it on the child's neck.

"You like my present?" Ban asked as he kissed the little girl's cheek.

"Yes! Thank you big brother!" The little girl happily kissed back on his cheek a couple of time.

Ban chuckle from the ticklish feeling he got. This necklace he gave to the little girl have 4 functions since it is a talisman he experimented.

First, is a tracker. Ban made a couple of these talisman and incribed some complex runes and connected each stone. One could feel the whereabout of the other talisman wielder just by feeling the stones with concentration.

Second, is teleportation. Ban found a way on how to manipulate space through inscription. Each talisman wielder can teleport to the other wielder at least once a day depending on how much space element was stored inside the stone and how far one can teleport.

Third, is defense. Due to the limited power of Ban, this talisman can only fend off a 5th level of Profound Practitioner or a 10th level of Divergent. However, it is still very useful since his planet have only Divergents on it. Or so Ban thought to himself. This talisman can sense any malice or danger on the surroundings. Once it happens, it will activate the defensive system automatically.

Fourth, is a spatial treasure. It has a 10 cubic meters of space inside to store some random things.

The talisman can automatically regenerate energies in order for it to remain funtional. However, if a wielder was attacked too many times at the same time, then the talisman's defensive function will deactivate after it's energy was depleted.

Ban doesn't need this kind of defensive thing since he has a skill, but he can use it to teleport to other wielders when necessary. Refilling the energy needed was also very easy for him.

After wearing an identical necklace on himself, Ban kept the ruby stones and replaced it with a set of high quality diamond stones. He wanted to create a defensive talisman for his friends or even sell if someone wanted it.

...

Noon...

After lunch...

"Hey kid, I forgot to inform you that the representative of James family is on his way to your home." Vernard called Ban. He was also on his way to his house to meet the said representative.

"Mm. Let him come." Ban shrugged his shoulder. If someone wants to court death, he wouldn't mind sending them off to the afterlife with a smile.

"Mm. Mr. Tom from SAB is also coming. He mentioned that he couldn't persuade the man to back off and instead turned a deaf ear on his warning." Vernard continued.

"Hah! Don't worry, grandpa. I got this." Ban smiled as he gave a confident response.

"Mm. Don't do anything rash, kid. I'm on my way." Vernard shook his head.

"You better catch up, grandpa. I already sensed them near my house." Ban smiled and ended a call. He then stood up and tidied himself.

"Where are you going, hubby?" Sally asked. She was practicing on how to draw an outline. With the guide of Ban, her progress got doubled as she can draw a scenery with ease. However, the painting she made was only a picture with no functions in it. Even though it was a normal painting, it can fetch a price of millions if sold to market.

"I'm entertaining a visitor. Help me watch over Penelope in the meantime. It'll be over in a bit." Ban hugged her while kissing her forehead.

"Mm." Sally sensed the visitors outside the house and said, "Be careful."

"I will." Ban nodded and proceeded to go outside the house.

...

Tom had a frown on his face as he glared at the silver-haired handsome middle aged man.

"I warn you Zen, if you do anything inappropriate, I will personally handle you myself." Tom said as he got out of the car.

Zen didn't reply, but a sneer could be seen on his face. He didn't believe Tom would offend his family just for a mere soldier in this region.

Tom saw the Zen expression and could only sigh with pity. He knew this guy will be done for if he offend the monster living in this house.

"Welcome. Mr. Whiss was expecting your arrival." Ben said at the group. He was overwhelmed by the strong vibe that the group gave to him.

"Thank you." Tom replied with a respectful tone.

Ben was dumbfounded when he saw a big man was bowing at him. In fact, the elites were also baffled by the action of their team leader.

The middle-aged named Zen man frowned at this, but kept his silence and he continued forward leaving the bowing Tom and his elites.

Zen saw Ban whose standing at the doorstep of the house a few meters away.

Ban stared at Zen with a calm expression. He didn't say anything as he watched the man approached him slowly.

*Crackle!* *Swish!*

When Zen entered the border of the Elemental Gathering Array, he immediately backed away as his face changed drastically.

'Wh-What was that just now?' Zen cried out in his mind. His body was covered by lightning element as he cautiously inspect the surroundings.

Tom and the others immediately surrounded Zen.

"What are you doing, Zen? I already remind you not to mess around." Tom inquired with a frown on his face.

"Ask him." Zen pointed at Ban with a wary expression. He continued with a scowl on his face, "I didn't do anything wrong. He attacked me first, I'm just backing away."

Ban watched the show with amused expression on his face.

"It's you!"

One of Tom's elite pointed at Ban with disbelief and anger.

Tom and the group of elites glanced at their team mate weirdly.

Ban chuckled and pretended to be surprised, "Oh? It's been a while, mister. How have you been?"

The elite stared at Ban with hate. Every time he patrolled the street where he met Ban, he was recognized by the masses and pointed their fingers at him. Now he became the famous 'Legendary Green Hat Man' on the said street.

"Stand down, Carter!" Tom sternly said making the elite startled. He then bowed to Ban, "I apologized for the foul manner of my subordinate, Sir. I'll punish him later for what he did."

Ban chuckled and waved his hand, "It's no big deal." He then narrowes his eyes and asked, "Did you take my advice and took the matter last time as confidential?"

Tom changed his expression and bowed once again, "Y-Yes! I did, Sir." He was sweating bullets when he felt the intense pressure from Ban. He knew Ban was refering to the unknown disciple of his. He really did kept the matter in secret fearing the retaliation of Ban and the mysterious lady to their bureau or even the world.

"Perfect then." Ban clapped his hands with a satisfied expression.

"What brings you guys here? You even came to my house without informing me first."

Ban continued to asked while staring at the group. He wasn't planning on inviting them inside the house.

"Ahem!* That.. I already informed General Vernard about our arrival.." Tom was afraid Ban would misunderstood his action and pointed at Zen. He said, "He wanted to meet with you Sir. I am not aquainted with him. I am only watching his action if he tries to do something bad to Sir and will subdue him for you."

Zen stared at Tom with surprise. He really didn't know what was happening around. From the hotel where he came from, Tom already warned him countless of times not to mess with the soldier or else he will take action.

Zen gritted his teeth and hesitated, 'Was this a play by the bureau? But they won't earn anything if they offended our family. What the f*ck is really happening? Why are they protecting a mere rich soldier brat?'

"You have business with me?" Ban stared at Zen calmly.

"..."

Zen became wary again. He still couldn't understand what was happening when he approached the house earlier. Initially, he wanted to make an oppressive approach at Ban, but the situation was not in his favor. Tom was really helping the kid in front of him and there's also that unknown sensation from earlier that made his guard active.

"Is it the matter of that guy named Anthony?" Ban asked again. He didn't mind the silent reply as he watched Zen with indifference.

When Zen heard the name Anthony, he widened his eyes. He composed himself and said with a frown, "Yes. I believed that you are thr cause of my nephew's illness. You have to come with me to the Capital and face the judgement of my family."

"Capital huh?" Ban pondered for a while and continued, "I will be heading to the Capital for tomorrow. I can arrange a meeting with your family there if you want." He didn't care too much about their judgement as his mind was occupied by other things he will do for tomorrow.

Tom on the other hand was shocked. He exclaimed in his mind, 'This.. This is a alarming news! A powerhouse will be visiting the Capital tomorrow!'

Zen changed his expression a couple of time. His original plan was to drag Ban to the Capital today, but the situation wasn't in favor for him.

"Hmph. I will be waiting at the Capital for your arrival." Zen turned around heading to the gate without caring at Ban's reply. He squinted his eyes at Tom,

'Let's see if you can protect him if he's in the Capital then.'
