The Cafeteria

Walking into the school with so many people looking is really not something that I would do again even if I could. I do not wish to have such an attention right at the start of the day. It was simply too much.

Because The Class Rep was holding my hand, many people gathered to take a good look at us. The black limousine was another addition to the problem. Honestly, I was not shy or embarassed, I just felt like it was a big hassle.

Personally, I would like to spend some alone time with my girlfriend, not with the princess in the way. A date with her would be great. I should have thought about that a couple days ago.

"He's not fit to be her boyfriend."

"There's no way they are dating!"

"She's probably pulling him to class."

They whispered all around me, not knowing that everything they said was heard. It was understandable. They were far away, and there was no reason for me to hear a tiny whisper from that kind of distance. At least, that was what they were probably thinking.

My power activated on its own. When I tried it before, even though I could use them like moving a hand or a leg, it would still required my intention.

Was it because...I cared about their whispers? Was it because...I cared about The Class Rep?

The thoughts scared me. The day I truly care for her would be the day of my death. I quietly swallowed the ridiculous thought to the bottom of my stomach, never to be seen a gain.

While we were walking, I noticed my girlfriend not looking like she was feeling comfortable. I saw her face gazing down most of the time and her hand was trembling a little bit.

For someone who has had a problem with communication and isolation, it was obvious that The Girl was uneasy with all those gazes.

That was why I squeezed my hand and walked right infront of her.

I would always stand infront to protect this girl.

My girlfriend noticed that, and tightened her hand.

We quickly got to class, created an even bigger commotion.

At that point, most of the students have already arrived in the class. Some of them were frantically trying to copy someone else's homework because they forgot to do their own, some of them were chatting, some of them were minding their own business.

Because of the height of the window, people in the room did not really see us holding hands so everyone was doing what they preferred. However, once The Class Rep walked in holding hands with a boy, all activities came to a halt.

After a few seconds of silence, it then quickly changed into huge "WHAT!!!" while some gasping for air as they saw the princess pulling my hand.

The Class Rep then moved and sat down on her chair in an elgegant but dignified manner.

"Hey! Good morning!" The girl sitting on her right said her greetings.

"Good morning. How are you doing to day?" The princess replied while smiling. She looked completely different than when she was with me. It was like there were two of her.

I mean if I counted The Mother, that would be two of her...

I got sidetracked.

"Class rep, are you...are you two...in a relationship?". She bravely asked the most important question that all wanted to hear.

The guys in the class stopped their movements and stayed completely still. They wanted to hear the confirmation with their own ears. They could not believe someone like the goddess of the school could be taken by someone so plain and average.

Please be a no. Please let there be a reason for that.

They were hoping for an illusion.

I was actually hoping for the same thing. Please say no, Class Rep. "We are not dating." Simple as that. Distance yourself with us. Forever, if you could.

"No, we are not in a relationship." She claimed.

"YOOOOOOOOO!!!!"

It was a good answer.

Shouts suddenly erupted from all the boys in class. And then, while they were celebrating...

"He is my future husband!" She once again smiled and it was directed at me. Her radiance illuminated the room, spreading the light of her happiness to everyone.

However, rather than the warmth of the sun, the boys in class were devastated. Their bodies were cold and dead.

"But...Class rep, isn't he already in a relationship?" The same girl asked again.

I could feel the life coming back to the guys. They must be thinking "The Goddess was only joking! That guy already has a girlfriend! Yesterday they were yelling at the school gate, too!"

"We are having a love triangle!"

That, was the final nail on the coffin.

I could not say anything or do anything. I stayed silent.

What I did was to wait for class to start.

After about 3 hours, class was dimissed. It was lunch time.

I did not have anything because we did not go home yesterday, so I was about to invite my girlfriend for lunch at the cafeteria.

Glancing at the princess, she was busy with the teacher of the period, so I took my chance.

"Hey! Let's go to the school cafeteria! My treat." I whispered to The Girl.

Suprised by the sudden voice of mine, her ears became slightly red. Cute.

"Okay. Let's go." She agreed.

Immediately after hearing that, I grabbed her hand, and we sprinted out side.

She would catch us sooner or later, so that was the only way we could spend some alone time at that moment.

We quickly got to the place to have lunch. It was already chaotic.

The school cafeteria at lunch time has always been a place of war. Students would usually fight their best to get the best meal possible, since they only have a limited stock of each.

Although the place itself is big enough to hold many people, everyday there would be some best-sellers. Everyone would always aim for those. Putting your hands on something premium was some kind of achievement.

Those who were weak would be left with a simple bread with maybe an egg on top. Sometimes it would be just bread.

Usually, I would bring my own meal to prevent myself from joining the fight, my girlfriend probably had the same idea since we had lunch with each other yesterday.

Now, there was no way for me to stay away from the horde of people. I needed to join.

"What would you like to have?" I asked the girl.

Smiling at me, she said.

"Anything is fine if it's with you."

"Okay. That was unexpected!" I gasped. "But it gave me strength. Wish me luck, dear."

I made a salute stand like a soldier leaving for war. Well, it was similar to war anyway.

She giggled and covered her eyes like a hopeless housewife, pretending to weep.

"Hic...please...please return to me, dear!!"

I never thought she would have good acting ability. Her performance was not bad at all. If we could have some background sad violin music this would have turned out great.

"Just find yourself a place to sit, okay? I'll be back, shortly!...I hope..."

"Take your time. We will not die without a lunch."

"But it will make your body weaker. You will not be able to do normal activities!"

"What kind of...YOU LEWD LORD!!!" She screamed at me but my back has already gone in the crowd.

The horde of students was huge.

Imagine many people without any lines and orders clumping themselves together to create a fusion of amagamation. Yellings and shovelings were common. It was not a place for the weak-willed.

I charged into the amagamation of students, using both of my arms to open a space.

"Watch it!"

"Stop it! It hurts!"

Forcing my way in, the words of the other students did not stop me. I must bring back food to my mistress. She would need premium foods for her belly was growing. It has been years since the war that I was forced to partake.

I was already too much into the fake drama that we made up. Shaking my head, I concentrated.

The human wall kept on covering me and pushing me away, I was unable to see what was infront and where to go next. There was not a single window where I could make my way in.

And the smell of youth, which was mostly sweats and no-deoderant, was so strong.

Running out of options and started to feel a bit nauseous, I used my ability.

I closed my eyes and tried to endure the tackle of others for a second.

An third view image of me appeared. That was when I finally saw it.

My purpose for today's lunch: The double chocolate-vanilla cone bread.

Cone bread has been one of my favourite food. Crunchy pastry texture on the outside, creamy dark chocolate and rich vanilla filling on the inside. The combination of flavors has always been one of the top ten in my opinion. I would love for my girlfriend to share the same joy of eating this bread.

There were even a few off them at the moment. Lucky me.

Having a clear destination, and a 360 view thanks to the ability, I was able to find my way through the nooks and crannies of the student horde.

Alast, two double chocolate-vanilla cone bread was on my hands.

After paying for the meal, I quickly went back to where The Girl was before. She has already found a nice place with not many people around for us.

I smiled and gave her the bread.

"Here you go. One extra-deluxed-premium-ultra-mega chocolate-vanilla cone bread." I proudly said.

"Thanks! I've never had this before. Is it any good?"

I look straight into her eyes, trying to be serious.

"Do you trust me?"

She was a little startled, but replied with a blush.

"Always."

"Do you trust my taste palette?"

She then also turned serious. I could see the fire burning in her eyes.

"I trust that you have tasted more good food than I have!"

"Then eat it, my dear. Eat it and witness your true cone bread god!!"

"OKAY!!!"

*nom*

She bit into the bread and then started chewing. I nervously wait for her reaction. If she were to spit them out, I would have never recovered from the shame. Do I feel shame, though?

*Gulp*

She swallowed the bread.

"You know..." My girlfriend carefully chose her words. "This is mediocre at best."

My heart.

My soul.

My body went cold.

"Pfffft hahahaha!!! I have no idea you could do something this exaggerated!! Hahahaha. I'm just kidding. It's really good."

She laughed at me uncontrollably.

"Give me back my confidence!!!"

"Hahahahah!!!" She wiped a drop of tear off the corner of her eye.

It was the first time for me to she her laugh.

Despite the braces, she laughters were adorable.

"Hey, girlfriend!"

"What, boyfriend? I really like the bread. Don't worry, okay!!" She patted my back.

"I really like your laughter."

"Eh!!??"

She looked at me with puzzled eyes and quickly blushed. She really got blush easily.

"It's all for you. It's all because of you!" My girlfriend said while biting hard on her bread.

"I know."

I happily unwrapped the cone bread.

A hand reached out from behind my back right before I was to make the first bite.

"Having fun right now? Dear husband?"

It was The Class Rep.
