Operation Feather Fall Part 2. [Day 5]

Peeking through the crack of the door whilst have thousands of thoughts must have looked very wired if anyone was to see me.

Realising that there is not anything I can do now that I have started the operation I decided to continue with the plan.

Drawing my knife, I slowly creep into the room and slowly and quietly as possible. With much of the night still available to me, I am in no immediate rush.

Once at his bed I act quick pacing my hand across his mouth whilst the other with the knife goes straight for the neck slicing it open.

With this one down I move upstairs repeating the process to the four other Kabalt in the house. With the outer bandits dealt with it is time to move into the main house. But with the information about the potential strength of the new bandits, it will be worth doing my stats, so I quickly look at my EXP to do my stats.

> STR: 21 -> 24 & AGI: 23 -> 26

With that done I am ready for the main battle. Before turning off the EXP I realise that with the system I could probably turn off the voice of the notification and just have it display certain notifications. Testing this out I realise that I can, so I turn off the kill notification and just have the increased skill notification on. I can look at the EXP later.

Exiting the house, I make my way to the door of the main house with Rex and Freya next to me.

Slowly opening the door until there is a small crack, I then grab my knife and check if there is any string across the bottom or top of the door and if anything is attached to the handle. Once checked I can see that it is safe to open.

They seem to be quite cocky it seems as they have very little security. Entering inside I am meeting with a large dining room with a table enough for 8 people and chairs. There is also a kitchen attached with a large wood stove burner and cupboards. There is then an open doorway leading to the living room which has a leather sofa with furs covering as cushioning along with another table. Seems that bandits are living lavishly off others.

Quietly I make my way through the dining room to the living room. In the corner of the living room, I can see a pair of stairs leading up onto the second level.

Me: "Alright Rex and Freya stay by this doorway you know the plan."

Whilst I then head for the stares the two wolves hide low next to the door frame on the side of the dining room.

Heading up the stairs there is no creaking of the boards, and they all seem to be new wood unlike some of the wood in the houses of the other bandits as some was starting to creak and go.

On the second floor, I am met with a door and then a corridor to the left with seven doors, four doors on one side and three on the side with the stairs. From the information from Valret, it is known that there are six bandits in here so there is one spare room or we have some more new unwanted visitors.

Luckily for me, there is an easy way to tell if the rooms are used. The door handles with not have dust and will have a stronger smell as people's hands and paws give off sweat and those will stick to the door handle.

I then go door to door to check them all. Seems the info was still good as it looks like only six of the door handles are used.

Alright, time for the plan. Entering the first room which is directly across the stairs I slowly open it doing the same checks as before. Again, no security. Inside I am meet with what I thought was most likely going to happen.

[Race: Kabalt, Sex: Male, Rank: F+]

They are higher races like a thought but also higher Rank going quickly with the plan I get next to him and with the cover and slit throat manoeuvre I kill him.

Part one is done, the next part relies a bit more on one of the bandits being semi-competent and trains his skill mainly Basic Enhanced Senses. I am hoping that one of them has a somewhat high level of this skill so that they are attracted to the noise and smell of blood from this room. Seeing how I have a high level of this skill I know that blood has a unique smell bit like if you smelt smoke in your house it makes you concerned.

I am doing this as the chances were high that a fight would have broken out in the house and a great sword is not an indorse weapon, so I need to get outside. If this did not work, then I could have just continued the stealth and hoped for the best, but I was confident that at least someone had got their skill high.

I was right as I can hear someone's door being open. I then play the "act" as I stand over the body of the bandit whilst I wait for my unsuspecting prey to come close.

After a butt-clenching few seconds, the pray walks into the door.

???: "Well, Well, Well, what d-"

Before he can finish his sentence, I attack him drawing my sword and swing straight down at him.

Expecting me to allow him to gloat in his awesome presence of "catching" me in the act he could barely get his sword to block me causing him to stumble losing his footing. With him off balance and my sword blocked I move my fist flinching the sword to smash the pommel of the sword into his face knocking him to the ground.

With him kneeling he is easy picking allowing me to slice his neck with my sword. With so much commotion from the battle, the other bandits will be waking up. Now the next part.

Exiting the room, I wait at the stairs waiting for one of the bandits to open their door and "spot" me fleeing.

One of the doors is openly making me quickly look towards to identify and gives me a small surprise but within reason.

[Race: Lajjo, Sex: M/F, Rank: F]

With me spotted I run down the stairs.

???: "We are under attack. Fucker is running I got it."

Jumping the last few steps, I run straight past the living room and out the doorway into the dining room straight for the door. Behind me, I can hear the Lajjo hit the floor and run straight for me. Unlucky for him he was to fixate on me rather than the trap. I can't see but I can hear and once he got past the doorway Rex and Freya pincered him. All I heard was the whining than the crunch of bone. I assume that one went for the leg causing him to stop moving then the second went for the throat.

Lots of throat killing today. But with such an easy and open target it is just a good spot to attack.

With our third bandit down the wolves then run out the open door that I left for them when I went out. I now stand in the open front yard with my sword drawn whilst Rex and Freya hide again behind some of the close houses.

With the commotion from inside the bandits are clearly in a rush and panic. Give a bit of extra help to me as hopefully, they don't realize that Rex and Freya killed their friend. Doesn't matter either way but it doesn't hurt.

Rushing out of the house I can see the last three bandits run out into the open. With the night and only light coming from the moon, they must hope that their eyesight can see in the dark. For me, I can see relatively well such as seeing the outline of the house and people and can at least make out faces and such.

Only three left.
