Health Hut. [Month 2 Day 2]

With the assistance of the healer squad, I am taken back to the healer hut. Entering through the door I am hit with a strong smell of oil and lavender, groaning and chaotic people moving around helping the patients.

I'm quickly led to a corner bed where I am laid down.

???: "I am just going to take some quick reading from you."

Before I can respond he placed two fingers at my wrist and counts to 60. He then places both his hand on my chest and leans in cupping his hands around his ear. He then tells me to breathe fully in and out.

When I breathe in a can't get the full amount before coughing and my chest flaring in pain.

???: "Nothing to worry about, I will be back in a second."

He quickly gets up and goes towards Ila who just finished working on another patient.

They have a brief conversation before they both go into a side room.

Looking around the room I can see that quite a few of the beds are currently filled with the majority being guards and a few villagers. Some guards are laying on the bed asleep and I can see the 4 seriously injured guards in the corner like me. They are all asleep and have some rag cloth covering parts of their body.

It also looks like a few unlucky villagers, who were helping, got caught out.

Ila and her helper soon return bringing a bowl of something and some odd blue block.

Ila: "Alright Lothran there is nothing for you to worry about, your chest has taken a bit of damage which is causing you to struggle to breathe. First, I need you to take this. It will reduce the pain."

She takes the bowl from the guy and brings it up to my mouth. She is not giving me much of an option so I down it in one.

Me: "God, that is disgusting."

It tasted like bitter lime.

Ila: "Sorry for the bad taste but you need it to get better, babs so you can get back out there and be the big bad fighter that you are. Now I need you to chew on this."

She grabs the blue block and hands it to me. It is perfectly squad, a deep dark blue and is about the size of a large coin, but it feels heavy for its size.

Ila: "This will stimulate the mana in your body to enter your blood. It then acts as a repairing agent and goes around your body healing it up. This is one of our best medicines for healing more serious injuries. It does what food normally does for minor injuries. I want you to just suck it, don't eat it, it needs to dissolve first."

I pop it in my mouth and the second it touches my tongue it starts to fizz, it's also super fruity and even though it is fizzing it is quite refreshing. I let it fizz and suck on it as I'm told. As it goes down my throat, I can feel my throat cool down. This is kind of addictive. It is making me feel amazing.

Once it is all down, I don't feel anything, so I look at Ila confused.

Ila: "It takes a while to take effect as it needs to be digested by the body. It was why I gave you the pain herb babs."

I just nod to her as I feel like if I talk the pain in my best is going to get worse.

The two of them quickly leave as they need to help other patients.

I am now left by myself. I want to go over my fight. Oh, my notifications.

[Large number of kills found. Shortening Announcements.]

[You have killed A Total of: 26 Guja, Total EXP: 520]

[You have killed: Race: Gija, Rank: F-, gained: 80 EXP]

[You levelled up: 7/30 -> 8/30 ]

[Gained 2 Unassigned Stat Points.]

WHAT. 80 EXP for that Gija. Why that thing nearly killed me. I fought that thing, so goddam hard, and it messed everything up and nearly destroyed everything. It nearly led to the village falling and I only got 80 EXP for that. Why.

Alright, just breathe me. Ow. That hurt my chest. Just calm down for a sec.

It makes sense that it gives 80 as most of the other rank F creatures gave lower EXP than that. So, if anything it was pretty good. You are just salty and angry that you got beat so hard.

Shut up me.

Fine, be like that. God, I'm lonely, I'm talking to myself. Again.

I suppose in the end as long as the village survived then the rest doesn't matter.

Alright, the battle. More really the Gija than anything else. Everything else was dealt with fine I would say. My main problem was that we did not know that it was there. Normally the ditch around the village would have slowed or stopped it. It could have had to jump across to not get stuck, but we would have seen that. The problem is that the ditch was never cleared out, we just did not have the time to do that.

Alright, then how do we stop it. Mmm. Well, its attack was a dead giveaway. It has terrible mobility and so could not get over the wall and such so it removed it sending the corpses flying. It got so close as well due to its pitch-black colour and so could blend into the night to get close. Because otherwise, it would be a large giveaway in battle if it was during the day.

I got it. Tank traps.

This will work, we can get the whole village to work in the morning to make these all around the village. We will make them out of wood, and it will just be two pieces of wood created into an x and a third-placed at the back to hold it up. Then we bury it in the ground. The Guja will run around them as with their mobility they can easily get around and from what I saw of the Guja before they went around the body blocks that we placed before.

If the Gija comes across the Tank traps they won't be able to get past without destroying them and once we hear them being destroyed, we know that there is either a Gija or something worse. Either way, we will know to be on extra alert.

I think it can work.
