Janvier slowly opened her eyes, very sleepy. She could feel someone climb in on her bed. She turned to see Sophia.
She yawned a bit, her eyes fluttering slowly.
"S....Soph. What's wrong"
Sophia lay back on the bed. "Nothing. I just want to be here. By your side"
Janvier smiled sleepily, facing her. She half closed her eyes.
"Aww. That's sweet" She yawned again and tried to close her eyes ....
"You know.....you're the only one I consider my friend. My 𝑩𝑬𝑺𝑻 friend"
Janvier opened her eyes and looked at her.
Sophia faced the ceiling.
"You knew I was nothing more than a maid...but you took me in as your best friend"
"Aside my family....you're the first person to treat me so nicely. With so much love"
Janvier didn't want to have this conservation right now. She had school tomorrow and she was so sleeeeepy. But she couldn't ask Sophia to stop talking, though she couldn't understand why she was saying all these, she was surprised because Sophia was never the talking type. So she just lay down there with her eyes half closed as she listened, half-awake, to her.
"...and knowing that one day I'll wake up and realize that you won't be by my side again, gives me such a chilled feeling that I can't explain. I would miss you so badly..." Tears fell from the corner of her eye down the side of her face, on the bed.
"Uh...Huh...." Janvier replied sleepily. She was too sleepy to see Sophia cry. Sophia was too emotional to notice that Janvier was barely listening to her.
"...You've changed me in so many ways. I was once a spoilt brat. I was so proud then. I was so dependent on servants that I didn't even know the first thing about cooking.....but you've made me a great cook. You've made me realize that without people you love by your side....you're nothing. You're just empty. You'll just be lonely. No matter how rich you are. That's why I felt so at home with People like Chua. Like Nathaniel. People like you...." Then she whispered. "People like Jason".
"Yeah...." Janvier said softly. She had started dozing off.
"I'm so glad I had to know someone like you. I'm happy to leave and go home. To see my sister. But I'm sad that I'll have to leave you. I know you'll miss me. Because...I know you see me as your best friend...."Then she turned to see Janvier sleeping. She felt a bit disappointed but she still finished what she had to say.
"...but I wonder how you'll really feel about me if you knew who I really was....."
Them she sat up and covered Janvier with the sheets, up to her chin.
She leaned down and kissed her affectionately on her forehead. Then she takes off the gold bracelet that Janvier once gave her. She wore it around her wrist.
"Goodnight Janvier" She gets up from the bed and starts leaving. She halted at the door as if she had forgotten something.
She turned to see Janvier. She had a calm adorable expression on her beautiful face.
".....and Goodbye"
