The King of the Forest

Waking up, the first thing Luna noticed was that she felt somewhat stronger even though all she had been doing was just simply sleeping. Confused, she tried to recall what happened last yesterday. She'd been chased by the supposedly 'King of the Forest', which was definitely a grey monster, as she had seen this humungous furry grey blob trying to bit her. Then she found a cave and collapsed, right, she also ate some herbs that she had randomly grabbed from the bundle.

She glanced at the quest menu, yep, the quest to defeat the king of the forest was still there, and the obnoxious 'Hard' difficulty was still grinning wildly on the screen. She knew she couldn't just charge in without a plan, however, she knew that she had at least two advantages, her human intelligence and of course, her wings! The furry blob didn't seem like it could fly, so she could probably evade him by going up into the air! Peeking through the hole that she dived in the day before, she saw that there was nothing there and flew out.

After an hour of trying to find the king, she finally found him, the beast was wondering around with blood dripping from it's fangs clutching a bleeding rabbit with one hand. As she watched, he took a bit of the rabbit, and a whole chunk was gone. The blood spurted out like a stream of water. Grimacing, Luna appraised him quickly before he could notice her, as after it finished it's meal, it began looking around for more food.

"System Appraisal: Pure-blooded Werewolf. A rare-type species of werewolves that were born a werewolf. They don't have a human form and are stuck in a werewolf form forever. At night, they often go berserk and kill everything in sight, the more blood they spill at night, the more insane they become, until they become driven by rage and kills everything in it's surrounding."

"Yikes, driven by rage? No wonder it's so quiet, the werewolf probably has already gone insane and has killed everyone already. Welp, I guess that's why his the king, cause he killed everyone before they can argue. But I was right, werewolves don't have wings, so I guess I can just avoid him by flying and kill him."

Since the werewolf hasn't noticed her yet, Luna dived down at full speed at the werewolf and used her claws to attack him before attempting to burn him. Surprisingly, she got the [Claws] skill when she had used her claws to scratch his back. Ignoring the notification, she continued scratching him, as her first attack had drawn some blood while the burn barely did anything except for scorching his fur a bit.

However, what kind of beast would just let her do as she pleased? On the second attack, the werewolf turned around and used it's sharp claws to swipe at her, grazing her left leg as she flew upwards to try dodge the attack. Seeing that his claws barely scratched her sturdy scales, the werewolf instead waited until she flew at him again, before using his arms to hit her away and she smashed into a nearby tree, spitting out some blood.

She vaguely heard the -20 health from the back of her head, but thought nothing of it as she flew towards him again, this time weaving around him, looking for a blind spot before attacking his undefended neck as he was waving his arms around, trying to catch her. She lunged towards his neck and was just about to claw it, when another arm came. She gave up on the her attack and managed to narrowly dodge his strike, which would have probably cost her another 20 hp if she wasn't careful.

The werewolf then let out a low growl that quickly turned into a full-out roar in a few seconds, the sound was loud, very loud, and Luna felt it vibrate inside of her. The roar had confused her mind and vibrated on her eardrums so hard that it made her brain malfunction momentarily, which left her standing there, defenceless as she tried to recover from the ear-shattering roar. Of course, the werewolf couldn't let this chance get away and lunged to bit her neck, but he wasn't so lucky, and at the last moment, Luna recovered from the roar and tilted her body so that the werewolf bit her left leg instead.

Sharp pain, that Luna hasn't experienced yet in this world, the same pain that she experienced on the night she had died flashed through her and she quickly flew up, once again ignoring the -50 hp notification, so that she won't have to use the leg to walk and tried to burn the werewolf again. This time, a few small patches of his fur fell out, but otherwise, he seemed fine. Spinning around the werewolf again, this time slower than normal, she once again lunged towards his neck and managed to use her claws to make a semi-deep cut.

Blood spurted out the wound, and the other wounds on various parts of his body also surged out. Her claws skill also reached level 2 and she flew around again, making the werewolf move around a lot to try and catch her. After a few minutes, which seemed like an eternity to Luna, who was trying to subdue the pain, the werewolf finally died of blood loss and slumped down on the ground. Luna then collapsed only a few second after the werewolf did and she also slumped down because of exhaustion.

After she heard the quest completion come up, she started eating the werewolf. After she had finished, she had successfully gained two more levels. Half flying, half hobbling, she went back to the cave and identified one of the herbs that could heal people and swallowed it. Thankfully, with it, Luna had managed to get back the 70 hp and her wounds and cracked bones from getting slammed against a tree started to heal.
