Chapter 28: I quit... again...

Confused now about whether Liehen was the other woman in Li Naihe's life, she felt like she had enough. She wanted the opportunity to explore this world, but clearly this world was not for her. She might try to come back at another time, but now was clearly not a good idea. Determined to get some clarification about these people's relationships she stormed into the building and went straight to the top floor to have a conversation with the man in question.

If he was in a relationship with Liehen, then her confrontation was going to kick her out of this world. If he wasn't, then she probably would have pushed the boundaries enough to be able to go back to her world. Either way, she was ready to leave. She wanted to visit the place and study it, not join a soppy drama where she was cast as the other woman. 'How ridiculous' she thought as she was getting ready to storm into the man's office.

No sass, no attitude, she straightened her back and the stone-cold killer look was now glinting in her eyes. She was done.

She didn't bother knocking and just opened the door to his office with force and strode in like she owned the place. If this was her world, she would've bought the damned place just so she wouldn't have to be bothered by the incessant buzzing of insignificant people like that woman. 'What an annoyance she thought' and proceeded to walk straight in Li Naihe's face.

"Mr. Li I don't know what kind of relationship you think we have, but please keep your crazy women away from me." She deadpanned, watching for his reaction.

She was secretly hoping this world wouldn't throw her out, but at the same time, she was very ready to go home and back to her real life. She had been here for a couple of hours only, but it felt like an eternity. It was less than what she experienced last time, so she was now quickly running the calculations in her head to figure out the passage of time between the two worlds. Satisfied that her disappearance from her world amounted to less than 2 minutes at this point, she continued to stare down the man in front of her waiting for his reaction.

He looked at her with a slightly confused look on his face before his expression turned angry and then reverted to his cold and aloof one.

"Please calm down Miss Jisuanji."

She was calm, probably too calm for his safety at this point.

He looked at her, his eyes glinting with some mischievous thought passing through his mind.

She couldn't read him well enough, so she waited for him to provide her with more details.

Li Naihe suddenly had a thought. It didn't sit well with him at first, but if this meant he could have Raven for a while longer, he had to give it a go. From her reaction, he knew she met Lianhua. She was the only woman crazy enough to cause such trouble. More than that, from the statement Raven was making, she clearly had no comprehension of Liehen or their relationship. There wasn't one and she didn't know it. He was going to use this to his advantage, hoping that it won't backfire.

"I have no idea what you're talking about Liehen" his tone softening, full of affection.

Raven was dumbfounded. Was Liehen really the other woman?

"You are the only crazy woman in my life" he said, while making air quote signs when he said crazy.

'Jesus, I am the other woman!' Raven thought, whilst trying to wrap her head around how to handle this. She really didn't want to upset the flow of things, but she felt aggrieved by Liehen's choices. Why did she have to inhabit this body?! She sighed and decided she would do herself a favour and leave.

"Merde!" she exclaimed, her French coming though. Quickly trying to mask her reaction she followed it immediately with "I don't appreciate being the other woman Mr. Li. I think we're done here" She turned around and left the office through the door she just came in, thinking about causing another public scene that would get her out.

She wasn't really bothered by whatever relationship this body and the man had, it wasn't her problem, but seeing as it would prevent her from peacefully researching this world, she was better off leaving for now.

Seeing her leave, he panicked. His plan had backfired and now she misunderstood. He was cursing inwardly at his stupid idea, and that stupid woman that caused all this ruckus. He really needed to deal with her, consequences be dammed. This was a repeat of the first time they met, and a strange feeling of loss enveloped him. 'Shit! She was going to disappear again' he thought, desperate to find a way to keep her here.

He ran out after her, trying to calm her down. She didn't seem angry but the cold look in her eyes made him realise she was done and will be leaving. He wanted to follow her, wherever she would be going, but he knew he couldn't, he was trapped here.

Walking out, she pushed the elevator button, waiting for him to follow for her to be able to cause a scene. Not knowing whether she would be able to come back, or whether she wanted to come back again, she pulled out her phone and quickly sent the email she had prepared earlier. Adulterer or not, she didn't think the man deserved to be ruined and his business taken away from him. He could do whatever he wanted with the information, but from president to president, she couldn't let this pass. If someone would try to steal her hard work from her, she would want to know.

From the information she looked up last time, Li Naihe was a self-made man, and the success of his company was due to his hard work and business acumen. In that regard, she respected him as her peer. Certainly, she had not respect for him as a man anymore, but that had nothing to do with his company. Business was business.

Satisfied that the email was successful sent, she prepared to shout something ridiculous again and be thrown out of this world.

Li Naihe ran after her, and just as he was about to grab her and keep her in this place, she looked into his eyes and with no inflection she deadpanned "I quit".
