In search of the real murderer

Reia hadn't expected such a thing from Ksyu. But she really liked THIS Ksyu. The nurse was furious. Another second and she was ready to slap Ksyu in the face, or maybe even kill her.

"If you like Felix and you are trying so hard to obey his order, then you should know that he sent us here. And if you do not want to disobey him and Chief William, then let us in immediately!" Reia said confidently.

"Oh you!" said Janet and swung.

But it was too late. Reia stopped her hand.

"One wrong move, I will break your arm and report to the authorities that you prevented us from saving a person's life," Reia said with a slight smile.

"You little scum!" Janet shouted. "I will destroy you!"

Reia released Janet's hand and looked at her with a serious look.

"Okay. I will let you in only because the chief ordered so," said the humiliated Janet. "But know, you can't get away with it."

Ksyu and Reia quickly ran into the room. It was practically empty. The curtains were only hung next to one bed. There was Rosen.

"Knock-knock," Ksyu "knocked" on the curtain. "Sorry to interfere with your rest. But could you help us," she asked.

Rosen was not expecting visitors. At least today. He was embarrassed to come out from under the covers in such a pitiful form in which he imagined himself. It was just the first year of the academy, the very first day, and he was already in the hospital. Moreover, he felt infinitely weak.

"Wait a minute," he said in a weak and slightly hoarse voice. "You can come in," he said after a few moments.

The girls went inside. In front of them was sitting a fair-haired guy with large, bright eyes. But at that moment they were very swollen and red.

As soon as he saw their faces, Rosen immediately recognized Reia, who wanted to give him artificial respiration.

"It's you! That beautiful girl," he said. "Thank you very much. Felix told me that you did a heart massage and tried to save me. Sorry to scare you."

"What are you talking about..." Reia said, blushing. "I… I did not do anything."

"Thank you very much, again," Rosen said and looked at Ksyu. "Aaa..," he said, slowing down, "You, you, you are also beautiful! Forgive me for not saying earlier," he said to Ksyu, blushing.

Ksyu realized that Rosen is a very shy guy and only laughed slightly.

"Thank you," she said. "Let me introduce myself. I am Ksyu, and she is Reia."

"Nice to meet you," he said. "My name is Rosen."

"Rosen, there is one problem. Our friend Zen is in danger and we want to know as much detail as possible about what happened. Can you tell us what the person who tried to kill you looked like and how exactly he tried to do it?" Ksyu asked.

"I was in the hall when he was looking for Zen. By chance, I thought he was looking for me. He had short dark hair and dark eyes. He constantly looked around and... I remembered! He kept his hand in his pocket and was constantly touching something there."

"He was touching something? For example?" Reia asked.

"I think there was a smartphone there. Looked like it," Rosen said. "As for the superpower, I only saw his active superpower. I guess it's just air control since he destroyed all the air around me. Regarding the passive ability, unfortunately, I can't say anything."

"I see," Reia said. "And where did it all happen?"

"We went to the toilet on the third floor. There was no one there, so it was easy for him to bring his plan to life."

"Thank you very much for the information," Reia said. "We will definitely come to visit you later," she said. "Take care. Until then, we need to save our friend!"

"Good luck to you!" Rosen said.

Reia and Ksyu left the room. Janet watched them and hissed after them. Rosen hid under the covers again and closed his eyes. He felt bad again.

Meanwhile, Aram, Felix, and Chief William arrived on the third floor. They quickly ran to the left side of the building, where there was a toilet. Felix put his ear to the door.

"It's quiet there," he said.

He took hold of the handle and tried to open the door. But to his surprise, the door did not open. He tried again to turn the knob, tried to pull the door towards himself, but it did not even flinch. The muscles in his face twitched.

"Kick it out!" William shouted. "Just kick it out!"

Felix gathered all his strength into his shoulder and rammed the door. It easily flew off the hinges.

"There is no one here," Aram said.

"Shhhh," said Chief William.

He pointed to the tap, from which water was gushing.

"There was clearly someone here," Chief William said. "And maybe he is still here."

Chief William walked over to the first booth and abruptly opened the door. There was no one there. Felix, meanwhile, began to open the doors starting with the last one. Aram decided to open the door in the middle.

"And there is no one here," said Aram.

All the doors of the toilet stalls were open.

"What do we do? He is not here," Aram said.

"We'll have to look all over the academy," Chief William said.

They turned and began to walk towards the door when suddenly they heard a rustle. Felix brought his index finger to his lips, asking Aram not to react to what had happened.

"Let's go up all the floors and look in the toilets," Aram said.

"Yes, let's go," said Chief William.

The toilet door closed.

"We will wait," Chief William said quietly.

After a couple of minutes, the sound of water disappeared. Someone opened the toilet door and walked out. Three detectives came out from both sides to meet the hiding stranger. The poor fellow almost fainted from fright.

"Chiii... Chief William, Felix …" he said. "I... I... I didn't do anything! Please believe me!"

The guy had black hair and freckles. This was clearly not the killer.

"What is your name and why did you hide in the toilet?" Felix asked.

"I'll tell you everything. Just believe me, I didn't do anything," the guy said.

Meanwhile, the hall was very noisy. Crowds of students were walking here and there, discussing the duels and wondering what the last assignment would be. It was supposed to pass in an hour, so the students had a lot of free time.

Alex walked among the students and hoped to find Zen. But he was nowhere to be found.

Suddenly a girl with long light purple hair came up to him.

"See how the elevator is wildly going up and down," she said.

"Elevator?" Alex asked.

"Yes," she said. "At first it was on the 13th floor. Then it went down to the 3rd. And then at all on the 1st. Then you went down it. Then the elevator moved back to the 13th and went down to the 1st floor. It was that guy, Felix, Chief William, and another girl. While they were talking here, the elevator went up. Unfortunately, I didn't see where. Then the boy with Felix and Chief William went up to the 3rd floor. Here, look, the elevator is moving again. Where is it going this time?"

"I have no idea," Alex said. He didn't understand what was going on.

"4th floor. Interesting," she said.

"Yeah," Alex said. He didn't know what else to add.

"I'm sorry I didn't introduce myself," she said. "My name is Lia."

"It's my own fault. I didn't think to do that either," Alex said. "My name is Alex."

"You're looking for someone, aren't you?" she asked without taking her eyes off the elevator.

"How did you know?" Alex asked.

"It's just, I'm looking for someone too," she said. "And I noticed that you rush around the hall and look out for the guys. In addition, I noticed that some men in black are constantly walking around here, and Felix and Chief William abruptly went downstairs."

"You're right," Alex said. "I'm looking for my friend Zen," he said. "And you?"

"Zen?" she thought. "Never mind. I'm sure my friend is fine. At least he's definitely alive."

"Maybe you are looking for a blonde guy?" Alex asked finally.

"Yes," said Lia. "How did you know?"

"He was nearly killed, but don't worry, now he's fine!" Alex said. He thought he might scare her with these words.

"Oh! That's good," she said. "And where is he? Why did someone want to kill him? Was he injured?"

"He's at the infirmary, I think. I don't know the details, but he is alive and okay," Alex said.

"Great," she said. "Since you helped me, I'll help you," she said. Her gaze froze for a moment. "Elevator! It went up to the 5th floor," she said, pointing to the elevator. "What are they doing? Are they looking for Zen on every floor?" She thought for a minute and continued. "Let's go. I know how we can find him!"

"But we must not leave here! Zen can suddenly return!" Alex said.

"No. No, no, no. You're wrong. First, if he comes back, then nothing bad will happen to him. Secondly, there are these boys in black. Thirdly, since he has been gone for so long, then there is a high probability that something happened to him. Something bad."

Alex thought about it. Actually, she was right.

"Okay," Alex said. "But where will we go?"

"We just have to figure this guy out," Lia said. "The guy, who wants to kill your friend. And you're in luck. I have already encountered him."

"Do you remember what he looks like?" Alex asked in amazement.

"Better," Lia said and smiled. "I know what his soul looks like."

Lia headed for the elevator. Her long light purple hair touched Alex slightly and seemed to wake him from sleep.

They entered the elevator.

"But where are we going?" Alex asked.

"I've also thought about it. I think the best is to go up to the 8th floor."

"Why on the 8th," Alex asked.

"They are now on the 5th. If they don't find anything there, they will go to the 6th. I don't want us to meet."

"Okay," Alex said.

The elevator reached the 8th floor. Lia and Alex went out into the hallway.

"Right here!" Lia said and sat down on the floor of the corridor.

"You might catch a cold," Alex said.

"There is a carpet, everything is fine," Lia said and sat down. "Just don't make a single sound," she said and closed her eyes.

She pressed her knees to her chest and lowered her head. There was complete darkness in Lia's head. She tried to strain all her cells to see at least the tail of someone's soul. But there was nothing.

"Let's go to the 9th floor," she said.

Alex nodded his head and they entered the elevator again.

"So. What is your name?" Felix asked.

"My name is Arto," said the guy.

"Arto, why were you hiding from us?" Felix asked.

"I wasn't hiding from you," the guy said. "I was hiding from the other two guys."

"What kind of guys?"

"I do not know. I was sitting in the closet when a guy walked into a booth next to me. A minute later, another guy entered the toilet. He turned on the water, probably in all the taps, and called someone. I decided to hide and put my feet up. He said something about the murder, repeated someone's name. Then he kind of called his father. In general, I do not know, nothing was heard there."

"What happened next?"

"Then he began to turn off the water. At that moment, the guy from the next booth came out."

"How do you know me?" the guy asked.

"It's you, Zen?" another asked.

"Yes, it's me. Why did you say my name? Why did you say something about my death?"

"Listen," that guy said. "I'll tell you something now, but don't be afraid."

"Okay."

"Someone wanted to kill you. I was just looking for you to save you. We can ambush the killer. The same man nearly killed Rosen even though he was hunting you."

"How can I trust you?" Zen asked.

"I, I don't know what I can say in my defense," the guy said. "But I really want to save you."

"Okay. Tell me everything you know," Zen said.

"One of my friends saw him on the ** floor, in the closet. I don't know why, but he went there. Before it's too late, we can catch him," the guy said.

"Understood. Let's go. But if you throw something out, know that I'll kill you on the spot," Zen said.

Arto finished his story.

"How long ago did they leave?" Chief William asked.

"A couple of minutes ago," said Arto.

"Why were you hiding then?"

"I didn't want to be noticed because I thought this guy might be a real killer. And if I made myself known, I would not be able to save Zen."

"Clever," Felix said.

"I hid from you because I thought it might be the killer."

"How did you do it? Where have you been?" Chief William asked.

"There," said Arto and pointed to the ceiling. "I glued myself to the ceiling with a spider web."

"You did a great job," said Chief William. "And so, we need to go up to some floor and find them in the toilet, right?" he continued. "But on what floor this toilet is located, we do not know."

"We'll have to go to all the men's toilets," Felix said. "Thank you for helping us, Arto. But just in case, you should come with us."

"Okay," said Arto. "I'm even interested."

After failing on the ninth floor, Lia and Alex went to the tenth. Lia sat back into her pose and turned off. Small lights began to flicker before her eyes. One of the lights was tense and quivering. But the second one was absolutely crazy. Inside the second light, it was as if there were 2 more. They rushed, circled, and fought with each other. The soul of the second person was in chaos.

"Just like an hour ago," Lia thought, and opened her eyes. "They're here," she said, turning to Alex.

"But where? Is it in the toilet?"

"This is certainly absurd, but very possible. Let's go and see," she said.

The closer they got to the toilet, the louder they heard the screams. Alex quickly ran to the toilet door and, swinging it open, looked inside. Lia stood behind him.

On the left side of the closet was Zen, nailed to the wall. He gasped and tried to catch air in any way possible. His head was bleeding.

On the other side, inside a long rectangular shell, a dark-haired guy was lying. He was loudly screaming and burning.
