Chapter 88: Final Feasts

At first, Mr. Wang was planning to stay in the world, because he understood more than anyone and immediately accepted the truth that the world could actually be ending.

It didn't matter to him because he was dying as well.

And so, he tried avoiding to face his reality with death in the original world where he felt all the miseries he experienced before. It was such a long, long time ago, but he could remember it vividly, as if it happened just yesterday.

"Let's all have a meal… for the last few days," Mr. Wang croaked, feeling a pang of nostalgia. He was going to miss this, he thought. "Let's eat the delicious foods and live the rest of our lives satisfied as much as we fill our bellies."

"I agree!" Camille gleefully exclaimed.

Alicia smiled and nodded, "I'd also like that. I'll get us some food in the other worlds. This place is just too empty, after all."

"I'll go with you, Alicia," Haru volunteered. "You'd need a hand to carry enough food for our feast, right?"

"Yeah, sure, let's go!"

Meanwhile, Ali stared at their leaving back to the previous worlds to get the meals. As he was just staring at the back of Haru leaving and fading away, he couldn't help but feel hurt.

"Hey, you okay there, little buddy?" Mr. Wang asked Ali, nearing to him. "Is there something wrong?"

Ali looked at him with an expression filled with worry and anxiety, "Does… Does Haru still hates me?"

Mr. Wang was definitely taken aback by the child's question.

Even Camille was surprised to hear that from Ali's mouth. Looking at him made Camille feel a bit sad.

They never saw what was inside the child's heart, even though she's sure enough that he must be keeping some terrible memories in him as well.

'What was it that made this child fear the sense of touch? What did he went through to be like this?' She pondered and pondered, but couldn't get an answer at all.

Mr. Wang stared at him with wisdom and sincerity. "That young man doesn't hate you, Ali," He said with conviction. "He likes you very much. He's been with you since the very beginning and has been taking care of you all this time."

Ali's eyes were slowly tearing up. "Then, why is he avoiding me? Why does he act like he doesn't like me?"

"I-I'm sure it's just temporary," Camille said, flustered. "Surely, he'll come around again soon! He just regained his full memory, so give him some time!"

Camille thought that it must've bothered the kid so much that he began speaking a lot in front of them despite almost never saying a word to them before.

In fact, they've only heard about him when it's a talk about the world and the portals. In short, only what's necessary.

He never spoke a word about the memories and the past and all they've went through.

He was just silent until now.
