Chapter 6:

-----1 Year Since Soul Rebirth-----

Shane thoroughly inspected his body delighted in its development. Over these few months his cloaking skill became harder to find and easier to use whist his growth through absorbing spirit energy became even better.

Why he called the blue particles spirit energy was actually quite simple.

-----Flash Back-----

After the monstrous bull finished devouring his species which he now called spirit grass, it began to saunter off, however something far outside Shane expectations occurred.

The wind seemed to have attracted another creature far more menacing than the bull. It was similarly a four-legged animal standing level with the bull. Its 3 golden eyes shined menacingly under the morning sun whilst Its teeth and claws shimmered with deadly sharpness. Its gazed moved lingering on the lift over meal plastered on the bull's face. Its bright pupils contracted as rage and anger contorted its face looking far more vicious.

Its mouth parted revealing its vicious teeth with an accompanying earth shattering roar. It pounced forward clawing its massive paws into the bulls side. It sliced like a hot knife through butter ripping fleshy meat out of the bull covering the floor in brilliant red. The bull only reacted after losing a few kilograms of flesh and moved back on weak legs sweeping its horns Infront of itself for defence.

It seemed the roar even stunned the bull. The creature similar to a mountain lion from earth easily evaded the bulls frantic sweeping horns before slowly moving around the bull. The bulls eyes flickered with unyielding as it circled to match the lion loosing far more blood in the process.

It grimaced after a few turns as its legs bulked beneath is gigantic weight crashing into the ground. The wound succeeded in bleeding the bull of both blood and energy as it helplessly looked on at the lion.

The Lion like a seasoned hunter saw its weak state and bounced with eager as its moved to the side of the bull and rushed towards it sinking its massive maw with razor teeth into the bulls neck.

That was all it took for the Bull to die. The Lion first licked the leftover off the bull's mouth clearly not worried about hygiene as it continued towards the lacerated side and began its meal seeming to savour every bite.

Shane looked on ecstatic at the bull's demise and glad he focused on cloaking. If he didn't, he may have been the meal for these 2 predators. One thing he knew for sure was he must be a delicacy around these parts. As Shane senses lingered over the remains of the bull as the Lion chewed happily, he saw a white ring emerge and softly rotate above the body. The Lion clearly seemed disinterested in it but Shane felt excitement.

Excitement because he now knew where he was. The three eyed golden lion, gigantic creature and blue particles all came together. He was in the Douluo world. Shane read many novels and one of his favourites was Douluo dalu, as it had a clear system of growth and epic battles. Looking back at the beast the soft white ring represented the 10-year-old beast and Shane was filled with longing for the future.

This meant he was reborn as a spirit beast and a grass at that. Shane thought back to the Douluo dalu novels he read. Thankfully he read them at 16 years of age or the memories would have been lost open reincarnating.

Thinking back, he remembered the closest species to himself was spirit grass, this grass was blue with grey lines and upon consuming could help strengthen a cultivators spirit energy. They were very rare and rarely found above 10 years.

Glad in knowing about his species Shane continued to watch the Lion devour its meal devoid of elegance. If he wanted to survive in this world as a spirit beast with weak offensive power Shane needed a damn good plan. He would have to defend himself form beasts and humans to not become a meal or a soul ring.

Shane continued to watching the Lion as plans flashed through his mind, he didn't know what time period he reincarnated into but he was damn determined to survive.

-----Flashback finished-----

Shane looked over his body feeling his spirit energy ripple. He had no meridians but he had focused the spirit energy into strengthen his body especially the roots. He found that if he wanted to successfully absorb more spirit energy, he also needed to absorb more nutrients from the soul. To tackle the issue, he focused on mainly strengthening his root network spreading it further and further towards other plant and tress and stealing their supplies.

Know finally his body had grown after 1 year since arriving into this world he was going to evolve. He felt he was at a bottle neck and was going to break through becoming a 10-year-old spirit beast. He already prepared nutrients for the breakthrough process.

Shane calmed himself, he still felt nervous but began to focus to push past his limits and evolve. He took a deep breath if plants could and focused all the spirit energy in his surrounding into himself as bright light engulfed his mind.
