Student Council

Violet and I were welcomed by Kalia Crescent the vice-president.

"Hello Violet and Faas, welcome to student council. I will be assigning you your duties. Since you both have been partners all year, you'll remain partners. Student council deals with a lot of things, which includes club budgets, and equipment request. You both will be handling equipment logistics. Normally, this job is handle by faculty, but they've decided to leave it in council hands for support students to gain experience. The clubs are all already up and running and you two have a bunch of work piled already. There are deadlines on the documents, so we don't how you do it, just meet the deadlines. That'll be all, see ya."

Kalia walked away right after that after pointing to our shared office room.

Walking in, Violet and I were impressed. "Wow, I didn't expect a model 6 circular operations terminal.", Violet said.

"I concur, I was expecting just some computers strung together. Guess student council likes to retain their prestige even when it comes to unseen things. Very nice. This terminal is much better than the student ones we practice on.", I said as walked through the small opening to enter the terminal space.

There were two chairs for us that we promptly and comfortably sat in. As we were both geniuses, efficient workers, and had a powerful workstation; our piled up work was finished in time for dinner.

We sat with Bas for dinner as always. Since we were only having small talk, I decided to pop question I've been wanting to ask.

"Hey Bas, you're an overpowered dragon. One of three in the whole academy. I understand attending this academy, but why become a hero after graduation. Couldn't you just live a life of leisure and riches in your home Dragon Realm for next 20,000 years?"

Bas thought about my question for a second before giving a sincere answer, "When I was 60 years old, still a child, I met a hero. She was a human powered that has already died of old age. She was a grandma already when I met her. Her hero name was Orca. She had super strength, water breathing, super dexterity, and sound manipulation. I couldn't pronounce Orca at the time, so I called her Ora, which became Grandma Ora through her many visits. Orca was an old friend of my Dragon Realm. She would tell stories of her adventures to young dragons like me. Others didn't care for them as much as I did though. Her adventure captured my heart. Then, I wanted to save people, fight bad guys and monsters. Be praised and have my own statue, hehe. When she died her natural death, I was only further encouraged to become a hero. I wanted to make up for her absence and become strong enough to protect even better than Orca so she can rest assured. So really it is a child's dream, but I dream I'm holding onto."

Violet and I were delighted with Bas's answer. Violet said, "As good a reason as any other Bas. I know for a fact that while dragons have helped out when necessary, there has yet to be an official dragon hero. You'll be the first my friend."

I say, "Violet is right Bas, you'll be the first dragon hero. You'll definitely have a statue, hahaha."

We laughed, then I turned to Violet, "What about you Violet, why become a supporter. You could've gone into science, engineering or business with your capabilities?"

Violet smirked as she answered, "For one, office jobs bore me to death. Two, being stuck in a lab all day theorizing isn't exciting enough for me. Three, I can engineer things as a supporter too. I may act reserved, but I'm to get an exciting job which also happens to be meaningful. A supporter follows their hero everywhere you know. Sure, we're basically in mobile bunkers the whole time, but we're apart of the action."

Bas then asked, "How about you Faas, why are you here?"

I responded, " Similar to you Bas, it is a child's dream. I don't have powers though, besides my strong mind that is. So I'll save people in my own ways. Which requires me to be a supporter. Like Violet, I like excitement too. I wanted to see the world of heroes."

With that, the bell rang and Violet and I separated from Bas.

"Hey Faas, should we just do our homework on the council terminal we were given to use? We could finish the whole weeks work in 2 hours tops if we do it together along with that terminal.", Violet asked me.

"Well, I think that's a great idea, let's go.", I said happily.

Like I wouldn't take an opportunity to get rid of my homework fast. We made our way back to our student council office in agreement.
