Daily life of a Greek Farmer

The days came and went along with the months soon the years followed and 7 years passed. I kept to my word about training and boy was I excited considering how strong I already was without any hard work only some 'light' running. I was not disappointed after 7 years of intense training I could easily run the distance of a marathon (42km) in 1h 40m and easily carry quadruple my weight which is 60kg.

It was crazy to think I could do this while I'm still 14 but when I think about the inhuman creatures that inhabit this world it doesn't sound so crazy.

I spent the past 7 years doing the usual farm work which I'm pretty proud of. Farming was not easy whoever thought that is retarded. The weather is a bitch, insects are a bitch to my crops and the wolves that constantly attack my herd are especially bitches. Oh here they come right now thinking they are so smart coming while I'm out of sight. It was a pack of 9 wolves one at the front leading the way while the others trailed behind.

Unlucky for them I'm in the bush, I'm in the tree you don't mess with my Dolly!

Jumped down from the tree I was perched on I softened my fall with the closest wolf cracking its spine in half. They were used to my counter attacks but not an actual game over.

The pack quickly responded, two going for my legs but a quick kick to their jaws stopped them. Resulting is a satisfying crack as their heads lolled around. Seeing how I swiftly took out 3 of their pack members cautioned them from wildly attacking me. They chose to circle around looking for any openings.

They certainly didn't expect me to strike first. A punch to the face knocked a wolf into another flying into a nearby tree, the thump they made upon contact was a bit gruesome. I was quickly back on the offensive lunging, I gripped a tail before swinging it like a helicopter then releasing sending it flying.

The last 3 counterattacked latching onto my arms and leg. I held back a tear from the pain using it to fuel my strength as I slammed the two on my arm against a tree. Who needs a weapon when they have trees nearby.

The final wolf I just repeatdly punched in the face until it fell limp. I calmly pried its mouth off revealing my bleeding calf. I inhaled then exhaled and inhaled once again letting all out in one large-

"FUCK!! SHIT!! It hurts!" The next two minutes was just me spouting a river of profanities. When I finished screaming out my pain I piled the dead wolves, except the one I chuck away into oblivion, and hefted them towards the market hoping I could sell them for some extra pocket money. I definitely wasn't going to leave some free meat lying around.

*3rd POV*

The market was a busy as usual that was until a walking hill of wolves was seen being carried by kid. He wasn't a rare sight to be seen but eachtime he came the things he brought with him kept getting more ridiculous.

"Oh he's back with wolves this time." Captain Obvious said as if this was a regular occurrence.

"A mountain of rabbits and now a hill of wolves! He's going to eradicate the wildlife!" Another exclaimed.

"What will he bring next?" Someone questioned.

With a greedy grin the boy called out pointing to his pile. "Any buyers?"

Those two words promptly silenced the growing crowd. Most wouldn't buy for the meat. I mean why would you when you could have goat and sheep? Their coats are what you should be after. Perfect for bedding.

(I don't understand how Ancient Greek currency work so don't pay attention to the numbers)

"5 drachma!" And that's how it started. What was once a silent crowd evolved into a bustling auction.

It continued like so until it was only 10 people left than 7, 5, 3 and finally there was a winner.

"40 drachmas." Iason held out his hand and was handed a heavy bad filled to the brim while he place the stacked wolves on a wooden carriage. "Pleasure doing business with you."

His hands full he left before the surrounding crowd which soon after dispersed going back to their business.

*1st POV Iason's farm*

"This should last me a couple of months." And it would I don't really buy much when I do it's mostly a new pair of sandals or a snack.

I should have done this in the first place. I thought those wolves would be smarter than to keep coming back to my farm after I kept beating them up again and again. Should have put them out of their misery sooner.

"You caused quite the commotion in town." My mother stated the moment I entered the house.

"I literally just came back how did you know?" I'm sure she was home the whole day so how did she know? Unless someone ran here and told her about it, which I highly doubt.

"I know what I need to know was all she said." That creepy you know that mum?

I decided to change the subject. "Where's dad?"

"Tending to the goats." Was the answer.

"I should have guessed. Need help with anything?"

"No, but you do. Go do yourself a favor and wear your other clothes." My mother demanded.

"But-" I tried to argue.

"No buts, your current clothes are littered in holes and it's fraying!"

"Fine~" I reluctantly agreed since their was no way of arguing with her when she was like this. I went into my room. It was a simple room.

It had a bed, a table and some chairs along with a wooden box. That wooden box was where I kept my stair clothes. Opening it up I took the first thing I saw, an off white rectangular fabric. Taking off the clothes I'm currently wearing I wrapped the fabric around my waist. It reached down my knees and was held together by a metal clip. Like my previous outfit it left my tanned upper chest bare, showing off my painstakingly cultivated muscles.

What? It wasn't weird, it gets really hot here and it's bothersome when my shirt gets soaked in sweat. Hmm, now that I think about it's been relatively warm year round, does this world have no winter? Thoughts for later. Right now I guess I'll visit Clover.

*The unnamed forest*

As I drowned in the sea of trees Clover finally decided to show herself. Boy does she not look happy.

"Why are you here?" She asked a bit harsh.

"Can I not visit when I have nothing else to do?" Seriously can't a guy just visit his only friend? Huh that makes sound pathetic.

"Well you always seem so busy these days never visiting me."

"Oh are you Lonely? Were you missing me?" I teased.

And she started walking away. Did I do something wrong?

"Hey! You can't just leave me like that."

"Hmph, I just did." Someone's in a bit of a mood today.

After that we just walked around for a while until I asked. "Something wrong?" I've never seen her act like this before.

"You stopped visiting." It was so quiet I barely heard it.

"So you were lonely." I couldn't stop myself I just had to. As expected I was gifted a rather hard punch, no regrets. "Sorry and ouch. I've just been busy with things and I guess I forgot to tell you."

"You always we're a scatter brain. I still remember how you spent a whole day looking for your sickle when it was right in your hands." She started laughing, she always does when she brings that up.

"It's not that funny! And do you really have to bring it up so often?"

"But it is funny." At least she isn't in a mood anymore.

"Since you made fun of me am I forgiven?" Please say yes.

"Hmm no." My hopes and dreams are shattered.

"What why?"

"Because it's you." She says it like it's so obvious.

"Because it's me? That doesn't make sense." I deadpanned.

"Of course it does."

"You know what, fine because I'm me. There you happy."

" Nope." She grinned

"What more do you want from me?!"

"Promise, promise to me you'll come visit everyday."

That was it? Too easy, "I promise I will visit you everyday."

"You are now forgiven." It's fun being able to banter with someone like this reminds me of the god old times.

We quickly fell into a rhythm of telling each other what we did throughout the past half year.

"The animals have been restless recently especially the smaller ones. Always so vigilant and frightened. Probably because of the bear.

"Bear? There's a bear in the forest since when?" Now that's intriguing.

Nodding her head she explained, "I'm not too sure when but it certainly isn't an ordinary bear."

It was then it clicked in my head those fucking wolves kept coming to the farm because of that bear!

"If it were anyone else I would tell you to stay safe but since it's you I don't have to worry."

"Again with that 'because it's you' thing." I commented perplexed as to how me being me answers anything. "Whatever it's getting late I'll have to head back. See ya."

"You better visit tomorrow!"

"I will, I made a promise and I always keep my promises."
