Lauren muttered to herself "I'm a literal glass cannon...wait. All these people must be looking at me because of my charm stat. Hmm, could be useful later on." She pulled up her hood and looked around, ignoring the admiring gazes.

Lauren was wearing a gray robe with black hair and piercing red eyes. Her hair usually flowed out behind her, but it was now tucked into her hood. She noticed that she was in a town square. Well, calling it a town wasn't exactly right, more like a village. A couple signs were around, seemingly to give some life to the village. NPC's walked some of the streets. They were rare, but still present. She dashed off towards a specific sign that read: "Elements Hall"

.....

The Building itself was larger than most of the others. Upon entering, she walked up to the front desk and removed her hood. The NPC took a moment to collect herself, seemingly in awe of the noble young lady before her. "Welcome, Miss. This is the Elements Hall, please place your hands on this tablet, and it will detect your Elemental Mana."

Lauren placed her hand on the tablet and it flashed white before lighting up with a soft purple glow.

The Lady spoke "Shadow, Huh? Well, to each their own. Not many have chosen this element, you're the first one so far. Follow the hallway straight back, it's the furthest door."

Lauren smiled at her and spoke in a polite tone "Thank you Miss..What's your name?"

"Ah, I apologize, Ahra Turen. You may call me Ahra."

"Well, thank you Ahra"

When Lauren (or rather, Silver) entered the back room, there was no light, but Silver could see everything without any issues. There was an older woman sitting on the windowsill, her figure wrapped in shadows, obscuring her form. She spoke, but her voice sounded distant. "So, you've chosen Shadow. Not many people choose this option. Tell me, why would a scythe wielder want to use shadow magic? Well, it doesn't matter. You're the first one here. Sit." She pointed at a small couch a couple feet in front of the window. Silver walked over and sat down without any issues, much to the woman's surprise.

"My name is Krelxia, and I'll be teaching you. How much experience do you have in fighting with or without mana?"

"With mana, None. Without it, I have some experience." Silver knew better than to overestimate herself. She was good, but she wasn't going to overestimate herself.

Krelxia nodded her head and waved her hand, enveloping Silver in shadows. "Alright, your face and demeanor is too noble, so you'll walk around like this until you can do it for yourself, can you see?"

"Yes, I can see just fine"

"Good, follow me then." Krelxia then left the room and wandered back into the main hall, Silver trailing behind her. Both were wrapped in shadows as they walked. Silver noticed a lot of people lined up at the door closest to the main hall. Krelxia explained: "One of the more popular choices is fire." She pointed at the line of people, "Idiots. Choosing an element like fire means more competition."

.....

The training room was large, larger than anything Silver had seen so far. Krelxia unraveled the shadows and pointed to the opposite end. "Stand over there and attempt to break my defense. I need to get a good gauge of what melee skill level you're at. Krelxia's skin was a dark gray. She had pointed earsz and her eyes were a violet color. She had black hair that reached to her shoulders. She carried two daggers on her hips.

After arriving, Silver nodded and pulled out her scythe. It was surprisingly light, and she found it easy to swing. She got into her stance, standing straight, with the scythe in her right hand, the handle resting on the floor with the curved blade pointing away from her. She sadistically smiled and nodded to Krelxia. Immediately, she dashed at Krelxia. Her eyes never leaving her. Krelxia shivered, crossed her daggers and met Silver's scythe head on. As scythe and dagger clashed, Silver laughed maniacally. Silver launched a chain of unpredictable attacks, swinging the scythe from different directions.

*CLING* *CLING *CLING* The sound of metal banging against metal reverbated throughout the room.

Swinging left, right, down, diagonal, up. Silver came from almost every direction as Krelxia was struggling to block them all. She was trying to limit her speed to Silver's level, but had to step it up a notch to keep up. After raising her speed, she had almost no difficulty blocking swing after swing. Krelxia realized that she was slowly being pushed back. She smiled and parried an overhand swing, knocking her scythe away. Silver stopped attacking and her gaze returned to normal. Krelxia was impressed.
