Acquaintances

Silver was just about to leave Jestal when she saw a familiar face heading toward her. She stopped and rolled her eyes. 'This guy again. He probably wants me to join his party or something. I'll at least hear him out.'

Tora's face was full of smiles as he greeted her "Silver! How are you?"

The girl in question rolled her eyes and sighed. "Tora, is it? Look man, we barely know each other. I like being solo, it gets my blood pumping, let's me feel free and gives me the chance to really let loose. How about this: We'll friend each other, and I'll let you know if I ever need anything, sound good?"

Tora nodded his head in a daze. "Ah...yeah, we barely know each other, and I'm acting like we're friends." He chuckled "Yeah, that sounds good to me. I only approached you because you're strong, and I enjoy meeting strong people."

Silver nodded her head and smiled faintly, Sadly, Tora couldn't see it due to her shadow mask. "You and I are alike in that regard. Ciao, and until we meet again." She began walking before another player appeared in front of her, seemingly out of nowhere.

Divine jumped in front of Silver and blocked her path. "Friend me too! We should hang out sometime. Maybe talk about some boys...or girls if they're more your type." She wiggled her eyebrows at Silver.

Silver was no good at dealing with this kind of person. Her shadow mask slipped away as she awkwardly smiled. Her eyebrow was twitching. Eager to get away from the crazy lady, she accepted and tried to regain her calm, forming her shadow mask once more. "Err....Sure, I guess? Don't bother me with talks of love and whatnot. I have no need for it."

Divine audibly gasped and put her hand over her mouth "Wha...What? Love is unimportant? NONONO. Love is very important..."

She immediately began a long rant while Tora stood off to the side shaking his head. When Divine looked where Silver previously stood, she was long gone. Divine put her head down in defeat and gloomily walked into Jestal.

Silver did not even think twice about Divine's speech. Afterall, love was basically impossible for her. Especially because of her one-step-above-prisoner status.

Silver only ran into a few monsters along the path to Corvat. The road was well traveled, making most monsters stay away. In total, she earned about 30 copper, defeating five monsters in the process. (They were low level, around 1 or 2, so they didn't even give her any experience points). She only killed them because Krelxia had asked her to, although it wasn't a quest, Silver was happy to help someone who had helped her.

Just under half a day later, Silver saw a large walled city. The walls were made purely of stone and reached 15 feet high. At the gate stood two guards. "Corvat City Gate Guard (Jeremy) HP: ???" Silver nodded and thought for a moment 'The gate guards are strong. This city should be safer than Jestal.

Silver approached the gate with her shadow mask up and her citizenship in her hand. She stopped in front of the guards.

The guard, Jeremy, spoke in a commanding tone: "Remove the mask and hand me your pass please." Silver obediently followed the orders. She knew this was just their job and did not bother making a scene. After seeing her face, the guard asked her a couple questions.

"Name?" "Silver Moon."

"Occupation?" "Adventurer."

"What city was this made in, and who approved it?" "Village of Jestal, and Krelxia gave it to me."

Jeremy nodded. "You're good to go in, sorry about that, just standard protocol. You won't have to do it again."

Silver smiled as she recreated her mask. "I understand. Thank you for being diligent." Simple straight forward people really are the best.

Silver entered the city and was stunned. The architecture was seemingly from the medieval ages, but the city was organized like a modern one. She stood in the market district, and after asking around, she learned that there were 4 separate districts. The open market, the shopping district, the slums, and the noble's district. Most inns are apparently located in the shopping district. Silver traveled deeper into the city, looking for an Auction house of some kind.
