Fight

"What do you want?", I asked looking into the eyes of the pretty girl who bullied Sina yesterday

"Ooh ... I'm so scared!", she mocked followed by laughter from her two friends

"I should be the one asking, what are you guys doing here? You guys are brave enough to show your face after running away from us yesterday??", she asked still mockingly

Some of the students sitting around us chose to leave or change seats when these three girls walked up to us while speaking loudly

"What?? Why should we be afraid of you??", I replied amused still looking at the girl

"Yura~aah, let's just go", said Sina who was nervous trying to pull me away from my seat

The situation around us became tense, almost all the heads in the room were watching us.

"Watch yourself, new kid! You don't know who you're talking to?!", she snapped as she leaned towards us

"Jinjja? Will that make a difference? All I need to know is that you're just a bully", I said loudly as I stood right in front of her

"Yura, let's just go, please", whispered Sina behind me

"They will always do this to us if we don't fight back, Sina~aah. They are cowards who oppress people who are weaker than them", I said as I glared at the girls

"I know that you were accepted at Meiwa because of a scholarship, in other words, you came here because of our mercy, you poor girl! I will make sure that you are expelled from this school!!", she said in a loud voice and hateful look

"Try it!", challenged me

"You bitch! How dare you!!", shouted the woman and pushed me so hard that I almost fell to the floor

There were screams from all around us.

"Yura...", Sina sobbed as she helped me up

"You weird nerd!!", she taunted

"Ani! I'm not a nerd, I'm smart! It's very much different!", I answered standing in front of her again

The girl then took my glass and splashed water on my face.

"Omo!", Sina screamed

I clenched my fists, surprised by what she just did to me. I closed my eyes when she raised her hand to slap me.

"Stop it!", a male voice rang out amidst the commotion

I slowly opened my eyes, the girl's hand stopped in the air. The golden brown-haired boy who returned my bag yesterday stood between us. He held her hand with his own.

"You! Why always you! Don't interfere in our business", said the girl in a threatening tone

"I think we have agreed that there should be no acts of violence in Meiwa. I don't care about your problems, but I will not stay silent if something like this happens in front of me," said Jimin

"Dami~aah! Are you crazy?! Why are you always looking for trouble like this?", this time Kim Seokjin walked up to us

"Oppa*! I... it's all her fault! She started it all, she hit us with her bag until we fell", she said as she removed her hand from Jimin and spoke to Jin

* addressing older man if the speaker is female

"Gosh, I saw everything that happened. You guys bullied Sina first! Don't ever twist the fact," said Jimin chuckling in annoyed

"Yura, use this… dry yourself", said Sina quietly while handing me a handkerchief

"Come on... I don't want to see something like this happen again... I can't understand why girls like to fight so much", said Namjoon who appeared beside Jimin while grumbling

"Oppa!", Dami repeated who looked at Jin with teary eyes

"Gwaenchana?", asked the boy named Taehyung

"Yes", I answered quietly while wiping my face

"Guys! Go back to your classes! The bell will ring soon", said Hoseok asking the other students to leave the cafeteria

One by one the student left the cafeteria. Dami walked after Jin and held one of his arms, but Jin pushed her hand away and said something with a serious face.

"You guys should also go back to class. I hope this won't happen again", Yoongi told us

"Ye, mianhae", we answered

Then I took Sina's hand and walked towards the exit. I saw in front of us Dami ran out of the cafeteria while sobbing, followed by her two friends. Sina and I looked at each other and walked slowly.

"Wait!", Jin said

We stopped walking and turned our bodies towards Jin and Namjoon who were walking towards us.

"Listen, Choi Sina, I know she bothered you a few times but try to hold yourself back a little", Jin said quietly

"What?? She not only bothered her but bullied her! And you asked Sina to hold back!? Are you crazy?", I asked in disbelief

"Yura...", said Sina softly while tugging at my sleeve

"Yeah, I know that what she did wasn't a good thing, but Dami has never been violent so far", said Jin looking at the two of us

"Bullying isn't just physical violence. That girl didn't hit Sina, but she kept harassing her and saying things that hurt Sina emotionally. Verbal and social bullying are just as dangerous as physical violence", I replied annoyed

"Ye, I know... I'm so sorry Sina. But please... don't make things worse. We ask you to hold yourself back, not to surrender to everything that Dami did to you, but more to hold yourself back so that things like this won't happen again. And lastly... I hope you know where your place is, Kang Yura ssi," Namjoon said ending his sentence and leaving Sina and me

Sina lowered her face and squeezed my hand tightly.

"I'm sorry …", said Jin with a sorry face and then left us

"Huh? What??", I mumbled not believing what Namjoon just said

The seven boys left the cafeteria in silence. I saw Jimin looking at me from a distance. His face was filled with anger.

"Come on Yura, let's go back to class", said Sina while holding my hand and pulling me back to class when the entrance bell rang in the distance

We walked in silence.

"Are you okay?", asked Sina when we arrived at the classroom hallway

"Yeah", I answered

"Yura, thank you for defending me. I'm glad to be your friend", said Sina with teary eyes before she finally entered her class

When I entered my classroom, pairs of eyes followed my every move. I sighed and open my laptop.

So I have to know where my place is? Hah! I know I'm nobody here. I went to school here because of a scholarship. My family has no influence here. Is that why they don't want to be friends with me? Am I too different from all of them??, the thoughts kept spinning in my head until it made my head hurt.

Even so, I will not stay silent if there are bullies near me, I have to teach people like that a lesson, I thought annoyed.

I looked up at the people who stole glances at me. Surely they will avoid me after seeing my fight with the girl named Dami earlier, I thought glumly.

I refocused my mind when our Korean teacher, Mr. Cha, start teaching in front of the class.

I was surprised when an email came to my inbox.

"Yura, I'm sorry for involving you in my trouble with Kim Dami" -Sina-

I immediately typed a reply email for her.

"Ani. I deliberately involved myself. I don't like seeing them bother you" -Yura-

A minute later Sina's reply email arrived.

"Gomawo, Yura~aah, after a year of experiencing this, you're the only one who dares to go against them. I'm so lucky to be friends with you" -Sina-

I frowned as I read Sina's email.

"Jinjja?" -Yura-

I looked around, some of the students were busy listening to the explanation from our Korean language teacher, some were busy taking notes on their laptop screens.

The message from Sina came again.

"Well, actually I'm not the only one who became their victims. Most of them are girls who used to be Jin's girlfriends. I think Dami was jealous of them …. I raised my eyebrows in surprise reading Sina's story.

"Aish!" I mumbled annoyed

I immediately lowered my face when Namjoon turned to look at me.

"There's nothing wrong with you, you are pretty!! They are annoying! Sina~aah ... who are they? Why doesn't anyone dare to go against them??" -Yura-

I typed excitedly in annoyance. It took quite a while for an email reply from Sina to arrive. I tapped my fingers on the keyboard anxiously and jumped slightly when I opened the long email from her.

"They are popular girls in Meiwa, Yura. The girl who pushed you was Kim Dami, she is a member of the music club. She is very good at playing the violin. In 1st grade, she has appeared on TV as an advertising model. Cha Muyoung was a girl with short hair. She is my classmate and she is a Baduk player (Baduk/ Go: traditional chess game) at Meiwa High School. And finally, there is Ahn Yejin, a girl with brown hair. She is a class 2C student, she is a member of the ballerina club. You can see that they are all very talented and beautiful. And their parents are super rich and also members of the school committee —just like The Bangtan's parents— so no one dares to fight them. Even there's a rumor about Seokjin and Dami are engaged, because their parents are best friends" -Sina-

"What??!", I mumbled while snorting in annoyance after I finished reading the email from Sina

"Umm... do the teachers know of their actions?" -Yura-

"I don't know... I think some teachers knew about it. But maybe they don't take this seriously" -Sina-

"Aigoo...", I muttered with a sigh

I hate things like this, I know it's beyond my control and I can't do anything.

"Sina~aah we better avoid Dami and her friends from now on. I don't think there's any point in us dealing with them. Well, unless they bother us first" -Yura-

"Arasso… I also prefer to avoid them, to be honest" -Sina-

I sighed and opened the Korean worksheet then refocused on Mr. Cha who is currently explaining about idioms in Korean passionately.
