Chapter 19

The 7 of them are sitting at a large long table, from left to right they have put them in this order, Jin, Tae, Jungkook, Yoongi, Namjoon, Jimin and Hobi. They have a plain white wall behind them, and the table has a purple tablecloth on it. Each of them has a microphone in front of them, Yeongs bear and the photo of Namjoon with Jangmi have been placed in the centre of the table, given pride of place. Namjoon clears his throat and speaks first.

"Firstly, I want to thank KBS for agreeing to do this, we appreciate your support, and also a huge thank you to Army for their well wishes and messages, they have kept us going through what is definitely the worst time of my entire life. My Daughter is 8 days old today and has been away from me and her mother for 6 of those. I can't describe the ache in my heart that I have due to this and how desperately I want her to be at home with us. I ask each and every one of you watching this to please be on the look out for Nari Kang and her Sister Ahnjong Lee and not only my Daughter but also Yoongi's 14 month old little boy Yeong. Now, I am speaking directly to you Nari and Ahnjong, if you are watching this please see what pain and anguish you have already put us through and please don't continue to subject us to it. Hand yourself in to the nearest police station now and we can help you work out a better deal than when you are eventually caught. We may be K-Pop idols to you, but we are also normal human beings with emotions and lives and we hurt just like you".

He has done so well up to this point but he struggles to carry on speaking, his voice becoming trembly. Jimin places his hand on his arm in a show of support and looks into the camera and says "we can not fully comprehend exactly how our friends are feeling, but even we are suffering from this because we have to watch them worry and there is nothing we can do for them. Please come forward and bring our bangtan babies home".

Yoongi grabs the bear and photograph and holds them up to the camera. "This is my sons favourite teddy, he slept with it every night up until 6 nights ago. I don't know if he is happy or sad right now, if he is sleeping well or eating, if he misses his Mummy and Daddy or even if he is alive. I cannot put in to words how stressful this is and how low it has taken me. As a man I have the weight of this on my shoulders but I also feel the need to take the burden of my wife's pain too. To see the woman you love struggle is something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Ahnjong you know what a great Mum Lori is to her Son and how she dotes on him, please bring him back to her and bring Jangmi back to Namjoon and Aimee". He puts his head down and him and Namjoon hold hands, clearly feeling for each other and the emotion getting to them both.

Nobody else speaks, so the cameraman pans to Detective Choi who then makes a brief statement about the case, what the police would like citizens to look out for, how they can report anything and one last plea to the women to come forward now. The on site reporter does a little outro back to the studio and the interview is over. Let's just hope it works.

When they get home they are all very quiet. Usually live interviews come with excitement over a new project or upcoming concerts but this time it's been deflating and emotional. Both Yoongi and Namjoon laid there souls bare for the first time publicly about their personal lives and it must have been so hard for them, and also for the other members to listen too.

We all sit in the front room and have a drink. I think it's really needed. We toast to the safe return of the children and down a fair few shots of Soju. We drink into the night all getting worse for wear and slowly start staggering off to bed hopeful at what the morning may bring.
