||The Next day||
The cold morning was slowly fading and busy streets
were warming up as you could hear the footsteps of
people coming and going, cars driving by, horns honking and
the echo of the sound bouncing off the buildings.
It was still early so the sun had not come up fully yet and
the lights on some cars could still be seen.
I approached the office building as early, as usual,
this way fewer people would be there as I was about
to open the door, I heard a voice.
"Hey you"
At this point, she could be stalking me. I thought
Me: Hey you self
That is what I wanted to say but I just gestured back at her
Her: Hope you brought an umbrella today.
Me: ...
Her: "you'll see," she says while smiling.
I forced a painful-looking smile then walked away.
Several hours later …
The office was the usual buzz and just like that the day
was almost gone.
I stood at the 2nd-floor glass window and watched as
the clouds moved in like a swat team across the evening sky.
Now you're just being plain ironic
I thought to myself
*sighs* I guess I'll have to play along then.
I had a feeling she would be waiting, how? Trust me
I have a knack for these things plus *sighs*
Her: " Hey you"
Okay if she says that one more time, I'm going to punch her in the face.
I swear to God, because I know she'll make it into a thing.
She smiled at me giddily while approaching me slowly.
Her: your eyes look like the sky
I already knew this as the rain always affected me this.
Her: ready?
She had done this for a whole week now and it was
shaping up to become a routine.
I walked away and she followed closely behind.
Her: you know you've never called me by my name or maybe
it's because you don't know it?
I glanced back at her coldly.
(CRASH!!!) A thunderbolt struck loudly simultaneously.
She jumped at me in fright and held on to my arm.
I smiled not at the fact that she was touching me
but how terrified she looked.
"You can let go now," I said coldly but she wouldn't let go.
Her: no need to push me off I'll let go.
(CRASH!!!) Another thunderbolt hit
She held on even tighter
We stood like this for a minute or two till I got annoyed
and slowly pulled my arm away.
We started walking again slowly, you could taste the
moisture in the air it could happen any minute now.
She broke the silence when said
Her: would you mind telling me your name?
I didn't acknowledge it; she had been
struggling for the past week to get something
as simple as that from my lips.
I loved every second of it I thought to myself.
"Well, I'll tell you mine, it's" I turned quickly to
shush her and grabbed her umbrella opening it up.
Standing that close to her face to face she spoke
Her: "It's Raine"
And down it poured covering everything.
