Chapter 7

'Beep! Beep!' I groaned and tried to turn off the alarm. Instead, I managed to push it down on the floor. 'Aghhh.' I wasn't really a morning person as you can see. The sun was shining through my window and when I sat up on the bed it shined right to my eyes. It was the worst thing that can basically happen to you in the morning, in my opinion.

Anyway, after a lot of struggling I got up off the bed and I picked up the alarm and put it back on the nightstand. I grabbed my phone and turned it on. I was hoping for a text from Matt, but the only message I saw was from Sally. I didn't bother to reply, because I wasn't in the mood for chatting. I went to the living room and saw my parents and little sister, having breakfast. How come they were always in such a good mood in the morning, what is the secret they didn't tell me. 'Morning,' I said in my hoarse morning voice 'what are we having for breakfast?'

'Good morning sweetie,' my mom was shining like a sun, I also wanted to look like this in the morning, it's not fair, 'you're not a little girl anymore Lily, make something to eat by yourself.'

'Yesterday you texted me I am your little girl and suddenly I am not? I didn't just grow up overnight. Whatever, I'll dress up and go buy something for myself.' how annoying can parents even get, right?

I was all dressed up and ready to leave when…

- Have you had breakfast yet? 😉

The text was from Matt, I didn't even realize but all of sudden I was smiling from ear to ear.

- No, I haven't, why are you asking?

- Well, wanna get breakfast with me?

- Sure, where do we meet?

- Just go outside…

'What made you smile?' my mom asked me with that smirk on her face.

'Hmm, Sally texted me a funny story. Sorry, I am really hungry, I'll go now. See you, bye.' I was all red. I was embarrassed that was the only fake story I could come up with.

'Sure, Sally…Have a nice breakfast, sweetie.' She knew I was lying, it was pretty obvious, but she thought it was funny how I tried to cover up the truth.

I left the appartement and went to the front door. I opened them and there he was, Matt. The first thing I noticed was a bouquet in his right hand. It was a bouquet of lilies and it was so beautiful. He was wearing a fancy navy blue shirt with white accessories and grey pants. His hair was perfect as yesterday. To sum up, he looked like an angel that fell down from heaven.

'You look beautiful, in this t-shirt.' He smiled looking at me…hmm I couldn't tell the expression on his cute face.

'If I had known you'd invite me to breakfast I'd dressed up better, but it was last minute.'

'No, you really do look beautiful, I mean it, it's not irony.'

'Well, if you say so…' I blushed.

'These are for you,' he handed me the bouquet. 'Today will be special, I know yesterday didn't go as well as we both wanted it to go, but today will be different a new start, okay?' he was right, although yesterday was great and we got to know each other quite nicely, there was a lot of embarrassment as well.

'Thank you so much for the flowers, they are beautiful,'

'They are lilies because your name is Lily. I didn't ask you what your favorite flowers are. These were the most accurate. Next time I'll bring you your favorite flowers? May I ask which are your favorites?'

'You are so sweet and did I mention you look stunning today. By the way, those lilies are lovely, but roses are my favorites.'

'Didn't I look stunning yesterday too?' he looked at me with his puppy eyes, I think my heart melted at the moment.

'Of course, you looked stunning yesterday, but today is a new start, right? I didn't think yesterday counted sooo I wanted to tell you today. Hmm I got kind of lost in what was I going to say. You look stunning all the time.' He laughed at how I was turning red again.

'Okay, I like what you said even though it didn't make a lot of sense. Anyway, let's go get the breakfast, you must be hungry, aren't you?'

'I am starving, I haven't eaten the whole night long.'

'Do you often eat at night?'

'No, it was just a joke, but maybe if I did, I wouldn't starve every morning. Great idea, what you have there. I'm gonna write this down. I think I'll start eating at night.' We both started to laugh. He took my hand and we went to the breakfast place.

We were talking the entire way to the breakfast, I didn't know where we were going to, but I didn't care as long as I was with Matt.

'Okay, but one thing happened yesterday that I don't want you to forget. Are you still going to Rome?' He took me by surprise there. I almost forgot about moving to Rome.

'Ehmm, I don't know, if you hadn't mentioned it I guess I would have forgotten about it.'

'You would have forgotten about it? Are you joking? It's a big deal, you should decide, seriously, but I think you should do it. You'd fit there so well.'

'You think so? Hm, I mean it's great and everything but…' then I thought 'but I think I am falling in love with you and I can't leave without you, because I couldn't live without you and I'd miss you so much.' that's what I thought, I couldn't say it though, it was too soon, so I said this instead '…but it is far away.'

'Wow, you're good at geography. Why am I even surprised you went to Oxford for god's sake. It is far away, but like I said it would be a fresh start for you. Don't you wanna know how would it be to live in Rome? Come on, everybody wants to know that.'

'Of course, I am curious how it would be.' I said sadly and stayed quiet afterward.

'What's wrong? It was just an idea, you don't have to move there, please don't be sad.' He was all worried about me.

'I am not sad, I am thinking about it. I'd just miss people I like.'

'You don't have to worry about that, if they really care about you they would visit you and you could always visit them too.'

'Would you visit me?' I was so curious because I needed to know where it was going. Friends or more...?

'Of course, I would. Is that why you were sad before?'

'Kind of.' I said it quietly, but I hoped he would hear me.

'So, you'd miss me?' a gentle smile appeared on his face.

'Yes, I am sure I would.'

'I'd miss you too.' He looked at me with his glorious smile and then hugged me tightly. As we were pulling apart we locked eyes. The time stopped around us. I felt it was going to happen this time. Matt was leaning closer and closer to me. He was holding me by my waist and I put my arms around his neck. We both closed eyes and then…our lips finally met. I felt sparkles all around my body, it was the best kiss I've ever had, full of emotions, full of love. I completely forgot about everything else and the only thing I could concentrate on was the kiss. I felt like flying for the first time in years. I knew it wasn't just a one-time kiss. I knew it was a part of my destiny…
