Ch.58

"Well, good job guys. All of you made mistakes, but in the end, you passed. Congratulations on your first 100."

Luke clapped while the students cheered out. Some people were in the nurses room, but the control room had a camera that connected to it, making the injured people able to listen as well.

"That's all for today. You can go home and enjoy the rest of your day. Relax, play games, just sit back and enjoy yourselves. You all deserve it."

Some people didn't think that. The team that played after Daemon were some of the people that thought that. They didn't even get a chance to show off which made them sad.

"Smh. Daemon, let's hit the arcade. I need to vent on the punching machine."

Kaiyo had her hair back in a ponytail while saying that. Her and Daemon decided to ignore whatever noise she made and continued like it never happened.

"Sorry. I...have to go to work actually. Take Midori or something."

Daemon tapped the M icon on his suit, making the black spandex he wore to got into the M. His civilaian clothes were what appeared next with a phone in his hands. He had on black pants with a grey hoodie and black crocks.

"Work dressed like that?! Stop lying and joking bastard!"

Daemon shrugged and put his hands into his hoodie. 'Believe what you want to believe woman..' Daemon walked away from her with small explosions going off in her hands.

'Hm? Why the hell am I so desperate? I'll go call one of the boys and ask if their free.'

She sat back down while sighing. 'That bastard is going to go see Midori though. I know it..' After about 10 minutes of walking, Daemon arrived at the nurses room.

"Hey, Midori.."

Daemon pulled the curtain back and saw her starring off into space. Upon hearing his voice however, Midori shook her head and forced a smile.

"Daemon? Why are you still here?"

Daemon pulled a seat up and sat down. He then looked around and saw that the nurse was out. 'She must have healed them all and left..' There were more students in here behind there own curtains.

"Why wouldn't I come see you? I was worried you might be dead."

Daemon then reached for his back pocket and pulled out roses. 'Haven't used my powers for anyone besides her since I got here..'

"D-Dead? Why would I be dead?"

"I don't know? Maybe it's too much pride because you beat Kaiyo???!..."

Daemon dragged out the last part while putting the roses in a vase on the counter. Midori slightly smiled at all of this and said...

"Thank you.."

She sat up a bit and sighed.

"I'm happy I won against her but,...I'm not happy with that win.."

Daemon cocked his head back at that. 'Not happy? Why wouldn't you be happy? You beat your bully and even made her acknowledge it. I'd be ecstatic..'

"From your look, I see that your confused. I'm...not happy with my win because it wasn't the real me fighting. It was adrenaline and hatred that fueled me and not my own thoughts.."

Midori would've liked to have been in control, but she was talking and moving without thinking. 'Like I said, shes clueless...' Midori then picked the vase up and smelled the flowers.

"And no matter how much I hate Kaiyo,.."

She gulped at her next words. It might piss Daemon off and he might get leave her.

"She's still...my friend.."

A small, green haired girl was playing in a river. She had on a dress and was playing in the water. A few things happened and she eventually fell into the water. Kaiyo, who watched this go down, ran to her and extended a hand out to her.

"Your too clumsy! And a girl shouldn't play in the water!"

Kaiyo stared at the hand as it was in her face. From that day on, she vowed to repay such a helping hand.

"Kaiyo helped me, and...and..I-I knOw I'm an IdiOt for consiDering hEr my friend eVEn after all that's hapPEned between me and her, but I just cAN't.."

She was breaking down, watering the plants in the process. 'I didn't know it was like that..' The curtains flew back on their own but Midori didn't seem to notice.

"A-Am I stupid? For not being able to hate her?! For hating her and forgiving her at the same time?! A-Am I, Daemon?"

Daemon stared at the scene in front of him. 'So basically, Kaiyo saved her from a river, Midori's parents died, bad beef started and now its present day?..' Daemon played with a rose while Midori cried away.

"I think...that you may be stupid, yes, but I can't fully hate that.."

For a child, first impressions were important. 'I guess being saved from something like that made Midori look up to her for the longest..'

"Humans are usually prone to get revenge on things like this. It's how their built. In your case Midori, you'd...rather forgive her than fight, wouldn't you?"

She claims she wants revenge when in reality, she wants to say 'Its okay..' and she wants Kaiyo to say 'I'm sorry'.

"Yesh.."

Daemon nodded and got up. He checked the time on his phone that he pulled out and noticed that hes late.

"Midori. Kaiyo will probably be leaving soon. Go and stand your ground. Show her that you'll fight back, and still be friends with her..."

Daemon didn't know about human emotion. He knew of love and hate, but things passed that were blurred for him. The nature of human is what he specializes in. Greed, Envy, Lust, all of those were present in human anatomy. It's what made humans, human.

'Revenge is something that empowers humans too. It causes them to kill, grieve, love, it causes emotions that were never present to become present.'

"Daemon.."

Midori reached for his sleeve as he was about to pull the curtain back to leave. 'Wait, I didn't say any of that outloud did I?' Midori sat the vase down and yanked on his sleeve.

"What the-"

She kissed his cheek, a dark green imprint being left on his cheek as he slowly pulled away.

"Thank you, Daemon. I'm never able to voice out my thoughts like this without being told I'm delusional. So thanks, for listening to me and helping me.."

She gave him a light smile. 'The japs are too assertive..' Daemon put his hand on his right cheek, an unconscious smile forming.

"Your...welcome, Midori. I'm glad..to listen you your- I mean anyone's problems.."

Daemon became embarrassed at his stutter. 'Damn it! Why the hell do I fall in love so easily?!' Daemon coughed and waved at Midori. She waved back and Daemon soon left.

'Putting her soft, small lips aside, I hope those two will become friends in the future. Now that I've spoke to both sides, I see that they both sort of care for each other. For Kaiyo, she cares enough to get stronger because of losing to her. For Midori, she wants to be friends like they used to be..'

Daemon put his hood on walked into the shadows. 'Maybe the can become lovers? I'd like to watch a Yuri that involves people of my age..' Daemon stopped himself and looked to the left at an invisible camera.

'That..sounded wrong. I've seen Murasaki and Hestia go at it. Its..weird to see. I just want to see younger and more beautiful women go at it.'

Daemon turned his thoughts off and started walking away. No matter how he described it, it just sounded...off.

....

Kaiyo was walking down the street when she suddenly saw a green haired girl. 'Smh..' The green haired girl was Midori. She had on a cast while in civilian clothing.

"Kaiyo. Can we speak?"

Kaiyo stopped walking, a disgusted look appearing on her face.

"I just wanted to say that-"

"Shuddup. I never said I was going to speak."

Kaiyo started walking again and soon passed her. Midori bawled her fist at that, but slowly sighed out when she realized how worked up she was getting.

"Kaiyo. I still consider you...my friend. You know that?...."

Midori said it plainly. So plainly in fact that it made Kaiyo stop walking once more, 'Eh'ing' in the process.

"Kaiyo. I hate you so much. At times, I wanted to shut you up for good but knew that I had no power to do it."

Midori started walking towards her.

"You bullied me all the time back then and...it really hurt me.."

She remembered taking an explosion to the arm one time. She got the mark removed, but the pain was still there.

"You bullied me and even said those things about my parents and yet.."

She stopped walking, the sun set in the distance highlighting them.

"I Some How Can Find It In Myself To Forgive You."

Kaiyo dropped her bags and slowly looked over her shoulder. Upon further examination, she could see tears in her eyes. 'She..can forgive me? What is she saying?..'

"As you know Kaiyo, I have the same power as Immeasurable. But as you also know, I can't use it correctly..."

Kaiyo hands slightly bawled at that. Frustration started swelling up as well.

"Kaiyo. With this power, I will defeat you and show you that I can be better than you. I will show you that I'm not some weakling that could easily be trampled over."

"So?! You think that because you have the same power as the number one, you can get better than me?!"

Kaiyo screamed at her, spit getting into Midori's mouth slightly.

"It will take some time, but yes. I do believe that I can become stronger than you."

Her nonchalant answer made Kaiyo pick her bags up while frowning deeply.

"You know what, Midori?,..."

She pointed at herself.

"You can take that copied power that the Gods gave you to have a fair advantage in this world and use it get stronger than me. Just know that I'll only get stronger too. I'll become a stronger hunter than Immeasurable and show you who's better. Do you understand me?!"

She screamed and started walking away, kicking a resting rock in the process. 'Yeah, I hear you..' Midori bawled her fist with a smile showing on her face. 'I hear you loud and clear...'

From that day onwards, the two became rivals. They each had the sole goal of becoming better than Immeasurable and to do that, they'd do anything it takes.

Anything.
