Ch.80

Midori walked into the bar, catching everyones attention. She had no particular reason for being their or atleast none of them knew of.

"Why the hell is she here?"

Said splinter in the corner. He was playing with a blade while eyeing Midori out the corner of his eye. Midori in question coughed a bit and reached for her purse.

Everyone instantly ducked down while some seemed to get ready to fight. 'What the...' Midori said while becoming slightly freaked out.

"She's gonna kill us! I wonder what she's reaching for?"

Said Lewis, tilting his head at times. They were all battle trained to become alert when an 'Unknown' person does any particular random movement.

"Wheres Daemon, little girl."

The prince of flames said while green fire were oozing from his hands. He seemed the most menacing as his Magic was the emitting type. Basically, his magic was the showy type while the others were the.. 'Let me touch you and you'll see' kind.

"I came alone, Mr.."

"Why? It's dangerous in this part of town. It'll be a shame for such a cute girl to get defiled."

"I'm...not afraid of such a thing. Anyways, I came here because I wanted to apologize to you guys.."

They noticed that she seemed genuine so most of them calmed down, putting their magic aside. Midori took this chance to reach back into her bag, only to pull out small bags with cookies in them.

"I wanted to say sorry for acting awkward the last time I visited, so I baked you all cookies. Is that..fine..?"

The group of bandits looked at each other then looked back at her. It was an odd proposal but nevertheless, it was sweet. Prince of flames was the first person to walk up to her and get his goody bag.

"Thanks, little girl."

He patted her head then walked away. More people started to come up as they realized it was truly okay. They saw the prince of flame demolishing his cookie which is what led them to believe that.

"Where's...the owner?"

From what she remembered, everyone in the room was present when she came in with Daemon that day except for the person who claimed to be the bar owner.

"Oh, him? He's out right now. Just leave his cookie on a stool."

They were all going back to what they were doing before she came in here. Midori nodded at the prince of flames statement and went up to a stool and placed a cookie down.

Midori then said thanks to them for allowing her to do such a thing. They thanked her back as well because they never had this kind of treatment in a while. Some actually never had it in their life.

"Have a nice day, little girl. Be careful.."

Prince of flames said as she closed the door behind herself. It was small but the idea of her trying to make amends with them was what counted.

'You lucky bastard. Better be taking care of her.'

He lit a cigarette while looking to at the ceiling. 'She reminds me...of you, mom..' He puffed out smoke as an image of a woman came to his mind. Her face was blackened, but you could still see the elegant aura she emitted.

'I hope...your okay over there, mom..'

....

Daemon stared at the woman then started looking around once more. He saw a lot of graffiti over the walls and saw many peculiar objects just lying around. If he could describe it to a better point then it would look like the bat cave.

"So much magic power.."

The people around him said. They felt very little magic from him, giving them the impression that he was either weak which wasn't the case or either very strong.

"Hey, hey! Your Daemon, right?! Well, of course you are! My name is, Jake! It's a pleasure to meet you!"

A kid grabbed Daemons wrist, pulled his hands out his pockets and shook them. He had on a ball cap and deep black punk clothing. He was the eager and loud type.

"Jake. Since your so eager to meet him, how about you show him around? Your both newbies after all.."

The cotton candy haired woman walked away while waving. 'So, he's knew here too, huh? Glad I'm not alone in this place..' The people around them said some things then went back to their business. They knew their group had their eyes on Daemon for a while, but didn't think much of it.

"So, let's go! I have a lot to show!"

He pulled Daemon along while humming. Out of everyone here, he was the only person who seemed the most upbeat. It made Daemon wonder how dead this place would be without such a person.

"System. Call me, System. Don't you have a code name as well?"

"Hm? Well, yeah but were friends though. Friends call each other by their names, no?"

Daemon stared at him. He was short like a kid and looked like one too. No older than 10 to be exact. 'I saw someone who looked about 60 here as well. I guess they don't care for age, huh?'

"Friends? We're friends?"

"Huh? Of course, mister Daemon! You treat me nice!"

"I'm doing that becuase your young though. If you were my age or something, I'd probably hit you for being so intimate with me."

Jake laughed at that while smiling. He had an infinite blush plastered in his small, cute face.

"Glad to be young then, right Daemon?"

Jake was a boy that you'd find in the scrap yard. He had short, brown hair and grey eyes. He had a bandage under his right eye while a black dot under his left eye. For a kid, he'd be a charmer to his age group if he actually cleaned himself up.

"Always stay young, Jeremy. The world of adult is no fun place, okay?"

Daemon placed his hand on his head while sighing. 'Responsibility, taxes, power,... You'll need it all in the future. That is...if we manage to save our world from the outbreak..' Jake smile and nodded rapidly.

He was new but in the sense of being here for a month. That being said, no one really spoke to him like a friend. It was either an order or just to leave them alone.

"Over here are our Techno-Machanics. They build our cars, trucks, vans, anything with wheels basically."

Jake showed him a car outlet with multiple people fixing vehicles, talking, or pointing at things on specific cars like they wanted to fix them.

"Why do we have cars?"

"Hm? For heist and stuff. Did you not know that?"

He said innocently while tilting his head. Jake was a bit of an airhead in the sense of not knowing when to shut up. He always says things that are on his mind, speaking his opinion on everything basically.

"Well, no.."

Daemon thought it was simple wiring into people accounts and whatnot type of job. He basically didn't know that they would be this outgoing and not so much as secretive.

"Oops, I guess I spoiled you, mister Daemon. Sorry about that."

He grabbed Daemon's hand once again and they began walking once more. They soon stopped in front a huge, rectangular machine that was white and pink in color. It had a line in the middle that was vertically placed. Next to the rectangular box, there was a keypad.

"This is our 3d printer. From here, you can make any weapon or even things like drones. Wanna test it out?"

Jake was already typing something in as he said that. A few seconds later, a small beep went off and the line split apart, meaning the surface to the left and right of the slit opened. Fog oozed down and a tray came out.

An Ar-24 revealed itself. The pistol like weapon had a yellow and black wrap to it. Like police tape basically.

"Its fully loaded and even more powerful than the ones you'll see in a store. Isn't this cool, mister Daemon?"

Jake handed the pistol to Daemon who accepted it. 'Its the real thing, huh? Lighter than I expected..' Daemon placed both his hands on the grip and aimed down sight. 'Via skills, I can improve my aim. I can already slow down time for a certain amount of time so my shots will be more accurate..'

A skill called, Concentration. By using this skill, Daemon's ability to perceive things boost by 10%, making him quicker and giving off a slow down time effect. Time never actually slows down during this move, but him being that quick gives off that effect.

"You guys are something. I didn't expect all of this.."

Daemon played with the gun in hand. He thought of it as his started weapon and decided why not. Jake seeing him like what he showed formed a huge smile on his face.

"We're not some pushover hacker group, mister Daemon. Sounds like I'm bloating when its coming from a kid, but we're very good at what we do. You heard of the story about the group of unknown people giving half the population of Australia 10,000 dollars each, right?"

Back in 2100, a organization of 'unknown' people hacked into a small time bank in Australia and from there, they deposited 10k into everyones account. They then went on to go into the major banks to give half the population 10k each.

"Ah, so that was you guys, huh? I see now."

"Yep. We've done bigger things since but the government improved a lot over the last 2 decades, keeping everything we do secret from public eye."

"I didn't realize how strong you guys were in the techno world. Makes me feel out of place.."

Daemon was now working with an elite group of people who's dated back to 2003. Since then, they've grown their organization, stretching it across the world. They made a public 'attack' back in like 2020 or something, exposing government scandals and such.

"Dont worry, mister Daemon! I believe you'll fit right in! And I'll be your little brother, so you can always count on me!"

His claim made Daemon unconsciously smile while bring up another question he had.

"Wait. What exactly is your magic again?"

Daemon never caught it. Upon finally hearing the question he longed to hear, Jake smiled while increasing his grip on Daemons hands. He looked up at him with a huge smile and said...

"BlackOut."
