5. Why can plans never go right?

Waking up felt like swimming back to the surface after almost drowning. The first thing Kira did when she opened her eyes, was taking deep, breaths. While struggling to normalize her breathing.

What a strange, frightening dream. She laughed nervously, It had felt so real, those glowing red eyes.

Just then, her phone vibrated on her nightstand,

"Hello?" She answered.

"Hey," Rebecca chirped.

"How's your mother?" Kira asked, walking to her window.

"She's doing okay, how's your leg?"

"It's fine, I'm thinking of starting classes tomorrow." Kira mumbled, as she looked out her window.

"Do you think that's a good idea?" Rebecca questioned.

"It's the only thing I can think of to keep sane," Kira let out as she sighed.

"Okay," came Rebecca's voice, "If you need anything, call me."

"I will, thanks, Becca. I have to go, so I'll call you later."

"Okay, bye." Rebecca answered, ending the call.

Letting out a yawn, she went to the bathroom for her laundry basket. Removing the curtains from the windows and duvet covers from the bed, she placed them in the basket.

As she hummed off-tone to the soft music that was coming from her iPod, she proceeded to the laundry room.

She was sitting on top of the washing machine. She was humming to a song while she scanned through her History assignment.

When the washing machine rumbled, it startled her and she dropped her book.

"Oh my God," She rested her hand over her pounding chest, as she took a deep breath.

She began unloading the clothes from the dryer, then the doorbell rang. Resting the basket on top of the dyer, she went to the front room.

"Kira?" The person asked.

"Yes," Kira answered, "Who are you?"

"I'm Jaquan, Rebecca's friend, she asked me to check up on you." He explained, running his hand through his dark brown hair.

He had a straight nose and a sharp jawline. He looked to be around 6'0 tall, with blue eyes.

"Oh," Kira answered embarrassed, as her cheeks burned with heat. "Do you want to come inside, I was just doing the laundry?"

"I have to get to work," He answered, checking his watch, "But I'll stop by later if that's okay?"

"Yes, later is fine," Kira said, which earned her a smile from Jaquan.

"Okay, so I'll see you later," Jaquan smiled before turning on his heels.

Kira pushed a strand of her hair behind her ears and went inside, with a smile on her face. Not aware of the evil that lurks in the forest, watching her every move.

Jackson moved through the forest at the speed of sound, leaving no sign that he was even there. He had learned the truth from Lora, and he had never wanted someone's blood as he craves hers.

He was pleased to know that she was alone, he planned on attacking her at nightfall. But then the human boy interfered.

He arrived back at his estate looking in fury, every step he took sent the orders in turmoil.

"Ho..." Lora was saying when Jackson's voice boomed.

"Silence!"

Lora approached him, wanted to ask, but he silenced her before she could complete her sentence.

A human girl seated in the far corner of the room looks no more than seventeen years old. Her heart was pounding inside her chest, while she trembled in fear.

And before anyone could make a move, Jackson already had the girl in his grip and sank his fangs in her neck.

Jackson wasn't usually messy when he fed, but blood splattered everywhere. And at that moment, he looked nothing like he had looked before. He was a monster. Blood scattered all across his face, his eyes were blood-red while his fangs were on full display.

"I take it, you never meet her," Lora muttered.

"That filthy human interfered!" Jackson growled, throwing the lifeless body through the walls.

And before Lora could ask any further questions, Jackson stormed out of the room.

Meanwhile, Jackson was throwing a fit of anger, Jennifer silently watched her brother. Jason had been staring out the balcony for almost three hours, without blinking an eye.

Jennifer's fingers ached to push the door open leading to the balcony, but she knew he wanted to be alone.

Jason never wanted this fate. He wanted to be free, not to be burden by a witch. He despised her, he hated her. In fact it was her kind who slaughtered his beloved.

But he only doesn't get to walk the earth, but he is bound to her. And for him that is the worst fate. He never wanted to be responsible for another life. Especially not a witch.

Maybe this was his  punishment, for all the massacre he have brought upon this earth. Being locked in a coffin was too easy, I suppose. He thought as he chuckled bitterly.

She will pay, I will not adhere for her sins. Every life I take will rest upon her shoulders. He thought bitterly as a raindrop fell on his cheek.

As if sensing he was being watched, he turned and he saw his sister looking at him with worried eyes.

She should be worried, they all should.

One minute he was there, staring into his sister's dark brown eyes, and the next was as if no one was there.

For a second, a shiver went down Jennifer's spine and she truly feared for the mortals. The way Jason's cold eyes stared at her she felt as if he was staring into her soul.

Jennifer feared evil had been awokened, she wanted to check on Kira but she was too terrified.

Would Jason relieved the past?

A thousand centuries ago, Jason looked at her the same way before he started a massacre.

Jaquan was an intern at the LA Memorial Hospital. He was completing his last task before his shift would end.

Soon after, he had already packed his things, changed from his scrubs, and was writing his report.

"I take it your shift had ended?" Asked the young female, who is also an intern.

"Yeah," Jaquan answered, picking up his bag and slung It across his shoulders.

"Ok bye," The brown-haired female smiled at him.

"Bye Selene," He smiled and turned on his heels.

After an hour ride, he was standing in front of Kira's apartment.

Knock! Knock!

He knocked twice, scanning the neighborhood as he waited.

Kira had just gotten out of the shower when she heard a knock on her front door. With no time to get dressed she secured her towel and went downstairs.

"Hi," Kira greeted, soon as she opened the door.

"Hey," Jaquan smiled at her.

"Come in," Kira opened the door wider, as she stepped aside.

Jason watched as Jaquan made his way inside as a sinister grin broke through his lips, one that would send an army running. He was ready to cause havoc.
