13. A bargain

Kira gawked at Jason with wide eyes, unable to form a sentence.

"Did you just threatened me indirectly?" The words flew out of her mouth.

"Run, Kira," He whispered lowly with a smirk on his face.

"Is everything alright?" Came Rebecca's concerned voice, snapping Kira from her trace.

"I.. I.." Kira stammered.

"I was just leaving," Jason spoke as he shuffled to his feet. "Glad we have that talk, Kira," He smiled at her before he walked away.

"Who was that?" Rebecca asked, her eyes never leaving Jason's back.

"No one," Kira murmured, staring at the spot where Jason sat a minute ago.

"It didn't look like nothing to me," Rebecca suggested. "Besides, he did leave a generous amount of tip." She pointed at the hundred dollars bill on the table.

"We should get back to work," Kira murmured. Her chair scraping loudly across as she got to her feet and turned around.

Meanwhile, Kira distracted herself with workloads. Jackson was out, painting the streets in red. Blood painted his eyes as madness covered his mind. He was truly unstable as he terrorized the civilians.

He ripped their limbs apart and while they crawled and shouted in pain he smiled inhumanely. That night as he feasts on the flesh of the mundanes he grinned cruelly. As his plans for greater power fell into place.

"Summon your brother," Jackson commanded Lora. She stared at the devil in awe, his eyes were ruby red while blood coated his mouth and fangs.

Jackson was seated on the couch with his legs crossed, while he savors the sweet taste of blood from a goblet. When a huge man appeared before him, with Lora to his side.

"What pleasure do I owe a bloodsucker?" The man spat.

"Lars," Lora warned, which earned a chuckle from Jackson.

"I take it you're not very fun of the night creatures," Jackson grinned from ear to ear.

"Your kind should be annihilated," Lars uttered, taking a threatening step forward.

"Brother," Lora grabbed hold of his arm.

"And who is going to be the one to erase us from history?" Jackson asked, with a smug looked on her face.

"Your kind should have died ages ago, with your pathetic leader."

"Yes, yes, yes," Jackson waved his fingers in the air, "How about you start by telling me about the girl." He suggested all trace of humor gone.

"And why do you think I'll tell you anything, leech?" Lars smirked, "All you bloodsucker want is power."

"Because I wasn't asking," Jackson smiled, a smile that would send, king fleeing in fear.

"And you think I fear death?" Lars questioned.

"No," Jackson said calmly before his eyes flash red and he was no longer seated. But was an inch from Lars with his hand clenching his beating heart.

"But you should fear me." He whispered dangerously in his ears.

Lora watched Lars, writhing in pain as blood dripped from his chest. Where Jackson's hand was implanted.

"Stop!" Lora yelled, "Lars will tell you everything you opt to know." She bargained as a glint of thrill flash through Jackson's hazel green eyes.

"Well, shall we begin?" Jackson asked as he wiped his bloody hand with his handkerchief.

"Tell him what he ought to know about the girl," Lora prompted.

"Very well," Lars spoke, and with the snapped of his fingers, they were standing in a room.

"What is this place?" Jackson asked as he glanced around the room.

"This was where it began and where it ended."

The room was covered in fire burned and claw marks, and the smoky scent of magic still lingering in the air.

"What happened here?" Jackson questioned as his fingers brushed against the walls.

"This was where it started and where the Elders imprisoned the creature," Lars spoke.

"What happened to the girl?"

"She is no girl," Lars spoke in a mere whisper as the truth gawk at him.

"What is she?" Jackson asked, curiosity burning in his eyes.

"Not a what, but a who?" Lars explained, "It is said the girl will bring chaos and mass bloodshed."

"They called her an abomination."

"Why?" Jackson urged.

"She was born from a very powerful Witch, the leader of the white coven while her mother was an elder. Rumors say her father was a Djinn." Lars's voice boomed across The room, you could hear the hint of disgust. "Not just any demom, an ancient demon who was never born, he is superior to us all."

"So, she's half-witch and half demon?" Jackson inquired, "This just keeps getting interesting." He grinned.

"She's an abomination!" Lars spat, "She was imprisoned for centuries until that gruesome night." His voice trembled with rage.

"What night?" Jackson asked.

"The night she was awaken." Lars answered but the words sounded foreign to his ears.

*******

It was an hour before midnight when the café sign changes from open to close. Kira was about to moped the floor when she saw someone, lingering at the window.

But when she moved towards the window, all she saw was the pitch-black night.

I must be hallucinating.

"What are you looking at?"

"Huh?" Kira asked, turning around where she saw Tyrese cleaning the tables. "Nothing," She muttered as she wiped the floor.

Shortly after, Rebecca came from the back room with her bag dangling from her shoulder.

"Ready?" Rebecca asked the two who were putting away their cleaning supplies.

"I can't wait to get home," Tyrese groaned, picking up his bag.

After bidding Mrs. Myers a good night, all three made their way out of the café.

"Let me give you guys a lift," Tyrese offered as they strode out of the café.

"Sure," Kira and Rebecca mumbled in unison.

As they climbed into the Jeep, Tyrese turned the heater on and they began removing their wet coat. While Rebecca and Tyrese engrossed themselves in a conversation. Kira was trying to make sense of Jason's words, the letters, and all the odd things.

Could Jason be responsible for the letters I've been receiving?

When they arrived home, both girls went to their separate rooms. But when Kira entered her room, something was different.

There was blood dripping from her light pink walls with the word 'burn' written in bold.
