THEY BOTH HAVE SAME WAY OF DISCONNECTING THE CALL.

Imperial City, Trust Hospital at evening,

Few days passed by and tomorrow was the surgery of that child. Everyone was preparing themselves for this D-Day. Seren had just finished her shift and was planning to go home. It was 6:00 pm in the clock when she was thinking about the menu, she should cook for dinner today. These days Louis and Seren had been come a little closer towards each other but less than friends. At least Seren wont avoid him. But still there was some kind of different relation between them.

Seren was organizing her things so that she can leave but suddenly her phone rang. As she picked up the call before saying anything she heard the voice of the person on the other line, " Boss its about that 11 yr child patient. His heart beats are dropping and the saturation is low".

Seren didn't reply as the call was disconnected. She ran towards the ward where that child was admitted. She checked his pulse and vitals.

She ordered Kevin as she was checking the patient, " Guess we need to do the surgery right now. Prepare the operation room and notify the surgical staff members".

Everything was prepared in 10 minutes and the child was taken to the operation room. All the doctors were present in the operation room but the lead surgeons didn't arrive yet. Seren was scrubbing her hands in order to disinfect herself.... just then Chief entered the washing area.

Chief too disinfected his hands. As they both were scrubbing Chief said, " I don't really like you as a person but I hope you wont disappoint me as a doctor too. So pull yourself together and make sure to prove yourself. I only entrusted you to be the lead surgeon because I wanted to see what kind of doctor you were. So you better not mess up anything".

Seren finished washing her hands under water after scrubbing as she said, " Thankyou for trusting in me Chief".

They both went into the operation theater as the two assistant nurses helped them wear their surgical gown and surgical gloves. They both stood on their places as the lead surgeon. Seren asked Dr. Jin, " Is it ready?".

Dr. Jin replied, " You can start. I will pay attention to his vitals".

Seren ordered , " Scalpel".

The head nurse Mrs. Camellia immediately passed the scalpel to Seren as she cut down an incision on the child's body at the chest area.

Imperial City at Newly Wed's apartment in evening,

Louis came home but Seren was nowhere to be seen. He thought that she didn't come back maybe because she was stuck in traffic or something. Soon the time passed by and it was 10:00 already. Louis tried her phone but there was no reply. He contacted the hospital but the receptionist said that Seren was in a surgery right now.

It was 12:00 at night. Louis knew that Seren was in a surgery but he didn't felt right for Seren to come late alone. So he decided to try her phone again to ask her whether she was done or not so that he can come pick her up.

He was trying her phone and thankfully the call was picked up. Louis heaved a sigh of relief and said, " Are you done? Wait there. I'll come pick you up".

But the call was picked by some other man.

Imperial City in Trust hospital at night,

The surgeons came out of the operation room as the nurses helped the bed to move forward to put that child in the ICU ward. When Seren came out she ordered Kevin, " Report me immediately when the child gains consciousness. Also keep an eye on his vitals".

Kevin said, " Yes boss. How was I today? Did I do it right boss?".

Seren replied, " Thankfully you are alive otherwise I had to prepare for your funeral soon".

Kevin said, " Boss can't you just compliment me once?".

Seren said as she patted his shoulder, " You were good as an assistant surgeon. Hope you'll be a good lead surgeon in the future too".

Kevin smiled as he said, " Thankyou boss".

Seren went to the changing room and changed to her normal clothes. When she came out she suddenly collapsed. Caleb who was waiting out of the changing room for Seren in order to congratulate her about the success of her surgery noticed her coming out. But before he can call her she had already collapsed. Caleb quickly strode towards her as he tried to make her conscious and called her name but there was no reply.

Seren was transferred to the emergency ward. Caleb quickly checked her condition and put her on an IV drip. Kevin ran to the ward as he heard about Seren. He rushed inside without even knocking door.

He looked panicked as he asked, " What happened to boss? She was fine just a moment before".

Caleb replied, " It is over exhaustion. Guess she didn't had any sleep past few days".

Kevin whined as he said, " I told her to push her scheduled surgeries forward but she never listens to me. She must have worked at night preparing for the surgery".

Caleb commented, " She is really stubborn".

Kevin said, " You can go Dr. Caleb. I'll stay here with her".

Caleb immediately replied, " No need. I'll be here".

Kevin said, " You must go home and rest. You must be tired too".

A nurse entered the ward as she handed over Seren's things to Kevin, " Dr. Kevin these are the things that were with Dr. Seren".

Kevin took her things and suddenly the phone rang. It was Seren's phone that was ringing. The name that reflected on the screen was " Quack".

Kevin picked up the call as he heard the person on other line, " Are you done? Wait there. I'll come pick you up".

Kevin asked, " Aiden? Are you Mr. Kelly?".

Louis recognized the voice but to confirm once he said, " Is it you Kevin? Where is Seren? Is she still not back from the surgery yet?".

Kevin replied, " The surgery was over".

Louis asked, " Where is Seren then?".

Kevin replied, " Actually boss is at the emergency room. She collapsed right after the surgery was done. She must have overworked herself and hence she is suffering exhaustion".

Louis said, " I'll be there in just few minutes".

The call was disconnected before Kevin could say anything further. Kevin mumbled, " Guess they both have same way of cutting the call".

Caleb asked, " Shouldn't we call her family? They must be worried for her".

Kevin replied as he placed Seren's phone and her bag on the table aside, " It was their call right now. Her husband is on his way".

Caleb surprised asked, " Husband? When did she got married?".

Kevin replied, " It's been few weeks since she got married".

Caleb asked, " Are you sure the person on the call was her husband? I don't remember Seren getting married".

Kevin replied, " It's the truth. I have even met him. He is a nice man. He was really worried for her right now. I guess you must go Dr. Caleb and get some rest. Anyway her husband will be here too".

Caleb got up and silently went outside the ward. He didn't say a word to anyone as he passed by from the lobby.

Soon Louis came to the hospital as he rushed towards the emergency room. He opened the door only to see Seren lying on the bed and her IV drip injected to her hand.

Louis asked as he sat beside Seren on a chair, " Is it serious?".

Kevin replied as he chuckled , " Not at all. She'll be fine once she takes a good rest. She was really busy during the day and night preparing for the surgery so she didn't get any sleep hence her body is rejecting and demanding for rest".

Louis said, " She told me that she was preparing for the child's surgery".

Kevin asked, " Did you know about that child? She collapsed after that surgery was completed".

Louis said, " Wasn't the surgery scheduled for tomorrow?".

Kevin replied, " It was but suddenly the child was suffering so we decided to do the surgery today".

Louis asked, " How is our child?".

Kevin knew that Seren had adopted the child and paid for his expenses but he didn't expect Louis to accept the child so early. He felt good as he saw the concerned look on Louis's face.

Kevin assured, " The child is safe now. He was shifted to the ICU ward".

Louis smiled as he replied, " That's a relief".
