I said what I said and I could not take it back.
Well I could just say I changed my mind but honestly I definitely want to go... wherever the hell he is going.
We are in his black pick-up truck right now, soft music is flowing out from the radio.
The silence was not tense and we have been on the road for 5 minutes. I wonder where we're going.
Outside the window I'm seeing a modern looking town. Maybe this is were people who are rich live, I bet.
The street is a little bit quiet at this time.
"We are here." Jayden said exhaling deeply like he has been suffocating.
I turned to look at his side if the window and there were two wide silver doors and a sign I could not read from the angle I am sitting in. The building was built in glass an aluminum frames. To put it lightly it screamed expensive.
"What is this place?" I asked as we got out of the vehicle. People were passing by minding their own business.
"Home." He simply replied.
I did not question him on that though so we walked to the doors of the building where only now I can see what was written on the sign -Sunflower Home- it was shinning down on the people who were passing by, eliminating a golden colour on their exposed skin.
I suppose it was the effect it gave since it is a little dark outside.
We walked in the building and I did not expect to see another entrance inside of it.
The glass made it look like it was just a large room. It puts the looks are deceiving saying to shame.
Jayde opened the door and walked inside, I followed him in and the room was buzzing in laughter and talking. However it came to a stop once I was in clear view from everything and everyone in the room.
Jayden put his thumb on his lips and everyone nodded and went back to their business. The chatting was a bit tense though. Maybe it had to do with the fact that I just did not belong here.
A middle aged woman walked towards us from the lounge are carrying a small tray with glasses of I don't know what.
"Jayden, Miss." She said in greeting bowing her head slightly.
"Hey Florin. What do you have there?" Jayden asked the middle aged woman now known as Florin.
"I hurried out here once I saw that you have came with the young Miss Philips. It is so lovely to see you dear." She said with a beaming smile.
I felt my heart drop after hearing my real name. The question that really filled my head was how on earth did this woman know me?
I stood there glued on my spot, waiting for something to happen. Hopefully this was a dream and I will wake up any moment from now. However I knew that this was not like one of my many dreams. This was happening and it was happening fast.
The whole room was still buzzing with people talking oblivious to what I was feeling or thinking.
Even though I wanted to make sense out of this whole situation, I could not so I looked at Jayden in question. Jayden had a worried expression on his face and he did not look at me, instead he looked at his shoes or at Florin.
"Erm..." I squeaked out.
I did not know what do say. What would I say? 'It's nice to see you too.' ? No I do not think so.
"Oh my... Did you not tell her honey?" Florin asked Jayden and he shook his head in response.
"I was planning to but David said it was too soon so I did the stupidest thing and brought her here." Jayden said letting out an exasperated sigh.
"Well it is not too late. I suppose I have to introduce myself then." She said and turned to face me. "Shall we go and take a seat?" She asked, more like stated as she led the was out of the lounge are and through a hallway.
This is happening way too fast.
She sat the tray she was holding on a side table near an opening and took one of the glasses and walked in the room.
It was a dining hall with a huge table surrounded by more than 10 chairs. There must be a lot of people staying here. The room was elegant and had picture frames on every wall giving it a warm home touch.
Florin sat on one of the chairs and drank her beverage as she waited for us to take our seat. We did so, and I waited for one of them to start speaking.
"I am Florin, your father's cousin. I am not surprised that you do not remember me, you were quite young when I last saw you dear." She paused to finish up her drink in one gulp. "You were 8 years old. Very young. Well I did take care of you and your sisters in most days when I came by to visit. I guess now I got to actually take good care of one." She said laughing a little.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Andersen. I got to raise her after what happened the day you and your mother left. She was a really funny child. I raised her like she was my own." Florin said with a sad smile.
She was talking about her in the past tense. "Did she die?" I asked unintentionally.
Jayden and Florin laughed at my question and shook their heads.
"Oh God no. She is very much alive. She makes sure to remind us every day." Florin said in between giggles.
My heart rate picked up. I never thought that I would hear about her from anyone. This could mean that we were actually in the same city. The last time I say her she was crying and screaming.
The last time she was me was when I tried to grab her hand out of fear.
What if she does not want to see me? What will happen then? Will she blame me for what happened that night? Will she forgive me if she did indeed blame me? Will she want nothing to do with me?
I could not answer all those questions though because the only person who can answer them is Andersen.
"Is she here?" I asked Jayden.
"No. She will be back by next week though." Jayden said exhaling.
I nodded my head reminding myself that every single thing is going to be alright.
Even though my mother will kill me if she finds out that someone here knows who I am.
To put it lightly, I am fucked.
