Chapter 37 — Mad price

Demetri acted like he didn't care about Lilian but he can't deny the feeling that this woman was awakened his dozing soul. He thought of just getting away, getting back out with his evil plan but he was already in the situation and the middle of his plan that he wanted to withstand.

The plan must be pursued according to his preferences.

" Where's my daughter?" Lilian asked him after her rest.

He was in the library reading books leisurely.

" That's what you're going to ask me right away?" He contrary answered.

He sat comfortably at his desk as he stared at her sternly. She approached his seat and gently laid her hands on the table. She stared into his eyes and so he did back to her.

" I did what you request. I keep my mouth shut and followed your order. What else should I need to do just to see my Lotus?" She asked hoarsely.

" You know, I'm ready to help you with whatever you want to do, Lilian, but you didn't tell me your plan. You knew me, I don't want people who love hiding secrets from me, and I hate people who plan to stab me in my back, " he cleverly reacted. He was about to caress her face but she moved slightly away.

" I know, all the help you give to me, it's just a part of our contract. So, I decided to do my plan alone, so I can get my children without your help." He nodded and tapped his fingers on the table rhythmically.

" I'm a businessman, Lilian. I don't want you to be the only one who gets benefits. I'll only ask you one thing," he gladly smiles at her.

" Marry Aduke and I'll help you to do what you want according to your plan," he added.

" You're unbelievable, Demetri! I don't know what's on your crazy mind. I can't believe you," she complained to Demetri.

" You don't need to discern what's on my mind. Do your part as my partner in crime. You will get your portion, and I will get mine" he whispered considerably.

" You will run out of money. Even, you work abroad for another three years, it won't be enough to raise your children and send them to expensive schools. So, I've made a way to increase your money."

She suddenly thought of what he had meant.

“ What do you mean? ”Demetri just grinned and gestured to his underling beside him.

She was immediately nervous when the bodyguard walks towards her.

" Wait—" he quickly covered her mouth with his handkerchief.

She struggled to remove his hand but she couldn't.

" Listen carefully," Demetri told her. He dialed Aduke's assistant.

“ Hello, I want to have words with your boss”, Demetri ordered and glanced at her.

“ Yes, about the gift I promise to you for your birthday. I got one that you can't refuse. I am pretty sure, my present will overwhelm your sight," Demetri said while gleaming.

After the two talked, the staff released her.

" What are you going to do!" she asked in anger.

" Aduke and I talked about his birthday and I asked him what present he wants from me. Do you know what he asked for?" she waited for the next thing he would say.

" You " he suddenly added. Suddenly her knees went weak.

“ You said yes? ” Of course! Demetri would agree.

“ Of course! Who will refuse the contract he offered worth 1 Billion pesos in exchange for you? " She turned her hand into a fist.

" You really care about money, Demetri. You're such a jerk!" She shouted. He just laughed and mockingly wave his hand for the compliment.

“ At first I knew you were a great benefit for me, Lilian. You're such a lucky woman that I chose to trade in such a great portion of a penny," he cunningly stated.

" But, don't worry because I won't make it harder for you to take your children from William. So, I'll give you the reward you've been waiting for for so long. Reward that you can't refuse that I'll use so you don't refuse the marriage proposal, "she snapped his finger, and then, one underling came in holding Lotus.

Her eyes widened in shock when she saw the sleeping child on the shoulder of Demetri's staff.

“ What are you waiting for?” Demetri mumbled.

Lilian immediately approached where they were and the man gently handed to her the little girl. She almost burst into tears with joy after she hug Lotus.

" Momma," Lotus whispered in her sleep. She cried in joy. Only Rose and Lily are missing.

" I will take Rose next because it should be difficult for me to get her. I'm sure William has already made away so that he doesn't lose his other child," he added. She just nodded.

An alarming doorbell called their attention. He was suddenly worried too much for Demetri's kind of gaze.

" Go get Lilian and run away. I will get outside and face William outside", he ordered his two staff.

The two immediately responded, inviting her to leave. Before the door closed, she turned again to where Demetri was. He was also looking at her. Without a word, she turned away her sights and finally followed the two gentlemen.

WILLIAM ordered the driver to ride where Demetri live. As far as he knew, if Lilian wasn't in her condo unit she went to Demetri's house, so he went straight there. When he arrived at Demetri's place, he immediately pressed the doorbell.

The small gate opened and the guard confronted him.

" Who do you need sir?" The guy asked.

" Where's Lilian? I want to talk to her," he begged.

" Miss Lilian is not here, sir. She doesn't live here," he formally replied.

" Damn it! I know she's here!" he argued.

" I'm sorry, sir. You need to go—she's not coming home here," and he stopped him from entering.

" I want to talk to Demetri. Bring him to me!" he shouted.

" What do you need!" Demetri shouted when he saw him fighting with the guard.

He threw away the guard's hand to get close to him, the guard was about to stop him but Demetri ordered him to let him go. He confronted the man wearing only a white silk robe.

" Where is Lilian?" he asked directly. Demetri knitted his brows.

" She's not here," he answered and lit a cigarette.

" You're his only lover, aren't you?" He replied. He blew out the fume.

" I'm not his husband, so she doesn't live here. So leave now because we're not living on the same roof," he ordered and turned back.

" She kidnapped my daughter. I know she's the one who kidnapped Lotus!" He madly stated.

He turned around and faced him.

" If she did it, it was her role to be criminal after you taketh his right as a mother. Don't be a shellfish dude," Demetri defied.
