One vs many

The deaths of the three men were more noticeable than those before it so those who were hiding couldn't help but notice something wrong and looked towards the location of the fallen body and the two others.

All of them had tried to keep a lookout solely for any movement from approaching sleighs and sleds so it was very easy to know when their target had arrived because of the loud noises created while moving through the ravine with their way of transport but they did not expect to become the targets themselves.

If the bodies were not out in the open they may have not even noticed the deaths happening around them and continued on with their task of hiding and waiting for a chance to attack.

Now that they had been alerted they had no choice but to put up their guard and be on the defensive instead.

How quickly they turned from predator to prey…

They were separated and all in different places within the icy ravine while in hiding and the moment they did come out they would only..

As Ki had alerted the enemy she decided to change up her plan and no longer needed to remain stealthy.

Just as the enemy was about to become aware of her existence she moved forward swiftly and quietly towards the next part of the side of the ravine where it provided her some cover and waited patiently with her sword in hand.

Two men hurried towards her direction to check out the dead bodies and see what was happening but as they looked towards the dead bodies they had already turned their backs to Ki who had been waiting and hiding until they passed by her hiding place.

Just as they heard a noise from behind one man was pushed down the ledge and fell to the ground below and the other received a sword slash across his chest.

Since he was also close to the ledge he fell down along with his companion who seemed to still be alive.

While the man with the sword wound was bleeding out he had also seemed to have passed out from the fall while the other man was yelling out in pain as he was holding his broken leg.

Both of them began to be drained of their blood slowly without their knowledge of it happening making them slowly approach death with every passing second.

Meanwhile Ki had already taken cover and armed herself with another arrow within her bow and began to look around for places that were suitable for hiding or traces of the enemy.

If the enemy did not know of her presence a couple of seconds ago then they definitely would now and they would definitely of heard the screams.

So next was…

A head popped out from one of the locations that Ki was watching within her range so she took aim and fired a single arrow across a long distance and just as his head had come out of the cover of his hiding place he had already been pierced by it.

Ki had noticed some early signs of him revealing himself so she had took aim early and then predicted how he would act when he heard the screams of his ally and as he foolishly tried to look around he became an easy target.

Other people who had a bow and arrows and had waited in place to ambush from afar began to listen intently for the location of the enemy but Ki had kept her movements to a minimum and remained quiet.

Even her breathing was light and steady so it made it difficult for them all to pick up on her location.

The only slight sound that could be mildly heard was the removing of the arrows from a quiver and the drawing of the bow now and again when she took aim.

They could only guess the location of where she was from where she had previously fired from so they began to move out from hiding and take aim towards where she was hid.

Around six or seven people had worked together as if they had a tactic understanding of each other and quietly waited while providing the people who preferred melee combat to move forward.

As the sounds of tightening bows was heard by Ki she hid behind the part of the wall and out of the range of the archers but she knew if she remained as she was she would soon be approached by the others that had been provided some cover.

Since she could not afford to sit around she readied her bow and took a breathe while listening to the sounds of the current environment and become much calmer.

The moment that she felt the timing was right and several conditions were in place she came out momentarily to fire towards the closest archer in her view killing them just as they released their own arrow.

This prompted the others to release their own arrows as a result but before any of the arrows could reach her Ki had already gone back into hiding and removed another arrow while quickly putting another arrow into her bow.

The short delay between replacing the used arrow for each person was different and she had practiced to reload her bow very quickly and efficiently if she was only using one arrow per shot.

It was to the level where she could be considered to have mastered the bow and could pull off a rapid fire of many arrows one at a time over a very short period of time so although she did not know the enemies exact skills with a bow she had confidence in her abilities.

Just as the arrow was being placed on the bow by the other archers one man had been shot with an arrow.

The sudden attack towards him caused him to disappear from the sight of the others so it was unknown if he died or was injured so the moment a few of the archers had placed an arrow on their bow they took up their aim once again and fired a little too early rather than taking aim and waiting.

While this tactic did help to fire quickly and catch Ki by surprise and they may hit her if they had a little luck they were better off aiming for their chance to hit her rather than wasting their arrows and having to reload once again.

Ki was fast with shooting and then hiding while reloading so she was able to avoid their attempts and the moment she could no longer hear any more arrows flying through the air and hurriedly shot another man and went back into hiding again.

Just as she was gradually lowering the enemies numbers she began to hear footsteps getting closer and the sound of weapons being drawn.

As one against many Ki knew that she could not be cornered no matter how durable her body was.

Just because she could not be harmed by ordinary attacks does not mean that she cannot be suppressed by numbers and restrained so that she cannot make use of her own strength.

Judging from the number of people and the skill they had displayed they were not the everyday ordinary group of enemies so they must have some within their group that had strength that could match or was at least a little below herself.
