Another change in fate

In the observatory tower of the Estrella family, the family head continued to peer at the sky above to check if there had been any changes to their calculations.

His eyes reflected the stars above as he continued to search for even the smallest defect but what surprised him the most was the changes that had been brought to what he believed to be related to be part of the Blood Sect's operations and their heirs star in particular.

He gazed at the blood red star which had dimmed slightly and revealed a look of shock and mixed feelings. "This... I do not know how good this is for us."

The balance between the many powers had been shaky for a while and war was not far away but there were always opportunities to use to weaken them.

Although the changes were not big and had been beneficial to them in some ways, some things had changed slightly which would mean them having to reconfigure some of their plans but there was still some things that remained hidden from his eyes.

The birth of the devil seeds had happened but it seemed as if he could not detect that there was a lack of seeds that had begun to grow.

It was as if those that had escaped from that fate had their own fate hidden from the eyes of the Estrella family like they had been recruited into the Devil Sect like they should have been.

The captives saved by Ki and the others had been shown to die in various locations and those recruited would become linked to the red blood star of the heir of the Blood Sect.

Old man Bernard Estrella's sacrifice continued to protect Ki from the Estrella families predictions and those that had become connected to her in some way.

Those fates that she had changed had been brought under the veil created to protect her fate, so those she had saved from the bases or saved from the flood with her actions were safe from the Estrella family.

All that had changed in their eyes was the dimming of the star belonging to the Blood Sect heir who had failed to break through to the next realm and had his fate chance a little and the many deaths of those under him.

Although he had been delayed, there was still a very strong fate that had only seemed to become stronger as time passed as if his determination had become stronger after suffering from a failure.

More tenacious people had very strong fates and when they suffered a defeat, they only remained down for a short time and came back even stronger than before.

Ki's efforts so far had not changed the fate of the world in a big way but each of her actions were creating small cracks within the foundation that lead to the future that she had experienced.

The balance of power was becoming more unstable but it was difficult to say when a war may take place, the only people who could determine that was the Estrella family.

A meeting between the martial alliance heads was put together and yet another family member was sacrificed to bring force the information that they had learned.

This lead to the banishment of another Estrella branch family member and the investigation into what brought on the change to the Blood Sect's change of fate.

One thing after another lead the Martial Alliance to realise that their control and vision of the world was beginning to slip little by little and they started to grow more uneasy.

They were limited because they were within the walls where they were protected and refused to take action themselves, they always preferred to use their pawns before anything else and make use of others before they decided to act themselves.

It did not help that their resources were already split between several other tasks over the years which had yet to show any results whether it be the investigation into the person who discovered the tomb, finding the daughter of the head of the Estrella family, supporting the new emperor as he adjusts to his role, dealing with internal disputes within the capital, dealing with threats past the borders, finding the remnants of the the Divine Ice Sect and other important matters to help ensure their future.

The Devil Sect had also recruited more people than they had predicted so they had to try to investigate that too, not knowing that some individuals had in fact escaped their fate of becoming a seed to be cultivated.

The same number of people were recruited or maybe less than what was predicted but because of the veil of protection from Ki's fate, the Estrella family only saw that the Devil Sect had experienced a bigger growth than predicted which made them very uneasy and suspicious towards them.
