Hunt

Eliza chuckled at those two. They always bickered like this and it had become usual for her to see them.

Aragon quickly gulped down the soup and swiftly made his way to the room.

"Wait! You little rascal!" Katheryn ran after him with a jug in her hand.

Eliza sighed and cleaned the table.

Katheryn and Aragon both slept in the same room. They both lay on the bed, side by side, with a gap in between them.

"Say, boy, how about you and go on the hunt from tomorrow onwards."

"Hmm, What is there to hunt here anyways?" Aragon asked curiously.

"I am talking about the hunt we adults go. Your father and I went on our first hunt when I was your age."

"To the south of side of our village, a few miles deep into the forest, they are wild beasts that live and they are strong beasts among them."

"They are very powerful and their meat can fetch a good amount of gold. Earlier those men who came here, planning to settle around these mountains. It's probably because of the same reason."

"I heard uncle also agreed to help them."

"Yes," she sighed. "He wants gold and lots of it, that greed mutt!" She said in an annoyed tone.

Aragon turned to the side and faced her. "Aunt, I will come with you to hunt." He said so, revealing a gentle smile.

Katheryn also smiled at him, saying, "My sweet nephew, you will kill lots of women with that smile." So don't smile like that in front of anybody unless you want to."

"Aunt, You should also stop drinking and dress nicely, then men would fawn over you." Aragon turned and faced the roof. He closed his eyes, trying to sleep.

"Damn kid," she snorted, closing her eyes and falling asleep.

***

The next day morning, Aragon and Katheryn just left the village. Despite it being early in the morning, the sun was not visible. It was obscured by the heavy, grey clouds.

The fog was covered all over, making it difficult to differentiate the places in the distance. And the weather was still cold and made one's bones feel the chill.

They both were dressed in thick clothes. The fur coat they were wearing reached their ankles. It provided them with enough warmth for them to cope with the weather.

Katheryn was carrying an axe and a short blade hung around her waist.

Aragon had only his sword with him. He was carrying the sheathed sword; the sheath seems to be made from a unique leather material. It also had patterns on it.

Their village was in the valley of the mountain. These chained mountains covered most of the area on the west side, blocking the other side of the world.

There was only a single passage to the other side. It was made recently by Rhaet. Through that passage, you can reach the other side in a few hours by horse. With the help of Reinfride, Rhaet made a trade for him. But it was still a difficult path as it was man-made and with full of uneven and rocky surfaces.

Most villages are located around the same region, with a couple of miles between them. And now Rhaet had merged other tribes into his and now their village was the only tribe left here.

He was a great warrior in the tribe, he hasn't lost a single battle till now. That's why the Solvwulf tribe hails him as the greatest warrior of all tribes.
