Chapter 27: The Sickness Worsens

I got up and started to run again but Loki stopped me. He stood up and hugged me tight. "Its ok Akela. Everything is going to be fine. So take a deep breath and calm down." "How can I? I can't believe I got advice from the man who wanted to hurt my dad!" "What advice?" Then I told him what Rinko said. "I see that's what I would have thought too." "Loki please just let me go. I don't want to hurt anybody else." "You won't hurt anyone so just calm down." "How can you say that? I almost got you killed and dad tired out because of his power. Who else am I going to have to hurt before I control these powers I just can't!" I broke free and left the gate. "Oh Akela what are we going to do with you. Sigh. I better get the others I can't do it alone."

"Dad! Is uncle back yet? I need you both. I tried but she escaped through the gate! I don't know what to do?" "She what? Oh crap. This could be dangerous. I will get your uncle then I will have him rush out then I will get Luna and Onyx! You try to go after her and see what you can do ok?" "Yes sir." "Sorry Evi and Nixie can you both stay here with Aqua and Leo?" "Yes of course." Then they were off.

"Kira! Where is Kira?! I have an emergency!" "Woah I'm right here what happened?" "Akela ran out the gate. There was a situation and she blamed herself for it. She finally go into her fire power." "Oh no. we better hurry before she destroys something, someone or herself." "That's what I'm worried about. Loki went ahead I'm going to get Luna and onyx to help as well." "Ok but be quick." Kira headed out and Orion headed for Luna's.

"Luna Onyx Emergency. Onyx can you run?" "If running is involved Take knight and spirit." "OK thank you Akela ran out the gate. There was an incident and she blames herself." "Shit I will get them." The two came running and went out with Orion. Then they all ran off with Orion out the gate and finally caught up with the others.

"Do we have any idea's where she would be headed?" said dad. "No but I am afraid that when we do find her she will be in a very bad condition. As in really sick. We have to hurry." Said Loki. Then Spirt thought of something. "Uh guys I think I may know where she might be. She said that if she ever got a chance to leave this place she would want to see the beautiful mountains and the caves. Where is the nearest one that is probably where we will find her." "I know just the spot then." Said Kira. "I've traveled around a lot and it only had a few caves. So we will split up. If she is like what Loki says and in bad condition she won't be able to fight back." "Ok once we get to the cave we will do that."

They finally got to the mountains but she wasn't in a cave she was training out in a field somewhere in the mountains they were. They all searched in a cave and couldn't find anything so they all met at the meeting spot. "Wait I think I know where she might be? Where is the nearest field?" said Loki. "Follow me." said Kira. So they all followed him to the field and found her out there training. Looked like she was training hard on her Fire and Ice power. She finally got down to her knees but she stood back up and tried again. "I have to get stronger. I have to get Stronger! I can't die! I have to do this!" Then she went on her knees again and couldn't get back up. Then the rest of her body. "Dammit." Then she collapsed and closed her eyes. Loki and the others ran over to her. "Akela!" Loki felt her head and said, "its just as I feared. She has a fever. Dammit! We have to get her home fast!" "No Loki. Cough cough. Please." "We have to or you won't make it!" "No that is not what I am saying. I can't go back because I remember reading something that might help. Dad might be the only one who can do it." "Cough Cough" "What is it then Akela?" said Dad. "Use both your fire power and Ice power at the same time on me. It wont kill me now that I have them. Since we are in the mountains it won't kill trees." "What happens if it doesn't work Akela." Said uncle. "Well we have nothing to loose if it doesn't now do we? If it doesn't work now we can try again next time ok? Lets try it now before I am worse." "OK I will." "Are you sure sir?" said Loki. "She wants this lets hope for the best." She closed hey eyes and dad had fire in one hand and ice in the other. Then he surrounded her body with it. He did it as long as he could then stopped. "Did it work Akela?" "I'm afraid not. Like I said he can do it again." Then she passed out for good this time. "Shit I knew it wouldn't work lets hurry and get her home for help."

When they got home she was so bad she might as well be on her deathbed. She would not wake or talk just rough breathing. Head burning.

(Inside Akela's head)

"I warned them to leave me alone but if they did I would probably be dead already and even now looks like I might die. I don't know what to do anymore." I sat down with my head in my knees then heard a voice. "You need to listen to them." Said a mysterious voice. "Huh who is there?" A man that looked like Rinko showed up. "Are you?" "Yes I am Rinko as he calls himself twin. As I said listen to them. Go back and stay with your family." "I can't have you seen what I did to them? I almost got them killed?" "Yes but my brother almost got your father killed your father is alive and so is Loki. There is something they don't know. My brother can make tools to suppress powers. As long as you keep them on you won't loose control. That way you can train one power at a time and not be so weak and sick. I would suggest you get either a choker Necklace or a bracelet even an anklet. Don't worry you won't need to take them off when you shower. They won't get ruined that way." "Why would he make these things if powers are rare?" "You know I asked him the same thing when I was alive. He said there will come a day when someone with powers comes along and needs my help. Now I understand what he meant." "But I can't talk to him I am too mad at him for what he did to dad maybe if I am able to talk I can have my uncle ask him for me. I will go with a choker necklace." "Haha somehow I thought you might. Well time is running out. Please forgive my brother eventually tell my brother not to take revenge and to proof I said it tell him this." Then he whispered a secret to me. "Tell him I love him and to take care. Tell the misfits this "This is from me the twin don't kill each other take care of each other. Bunch of misfits. I will let you wake up enough to tell your uncle about the suppression then you will be fine. Tell him that too." "OK I will. OH and thank you." "Of course. I don't want you dying anytime soon." Then there was a white light and I saw my uncle.

(Back to reality.)

"Uncle Kira? Is Uncle here?" "Yes I'm here. What is it? Rinko. He can make me a choker to suppress my powers. That way I can train my powers one at a time. I should be ok after that. I'm sorry until then I…" then she collapsed again. "OK I will do just that." Kira ran out the door and headed for Rinko's place since he was on house arrest and couldn't go anywhere for awhile.

"Rinko!" "Yes what do you want?" "I want a suppression choker." "I see. You've come to the right place. I have many. I will have to give you the strongest one I have. For sure she will be able to use one power at a time." Rinko gave Kira the Choker and explained how it worked. "Ok thank you." Then he ran out.

He finally got back to the house and saw everyone crying. "Am I too late?" "You might be." Said dad. "Try it anyway." "OK I will." Kira put the choker on her neck and they waited. "She was about to tell me something when she passed out. Maybe she was going to say she would be fine if she wore the necklace. Lets wait until the morning and hope she wakes up." Uncle and the others went home except for her mom her dads Evi and Nixie. "What are you all going to do?" said Leo. "Well if you don't mind? Can I stay on one side of Akela when she wakes up? Loki have the other?" "sure. Luna you should head home with Onyx. I will let you know when she wakes." "Ok we will be here first think in the morning ok?" then the two left Nixie and Evi shared a guestroom dad and Loki stayed at Akela's side.

The next morning Akela started waking up. "Hmm. Loki? Dad?" Loki was already up he said, "Yes I'm here. Your father Orion is here. Your mom and Onyx are on their way." "Where is uncle? I need to speak with him?" "He will be here later." "Ok then." I felt around my neck. " Ha so its true. He does make them." "What are you talking about Akela?" Said Loki. "Oh Rinko has been making power suppression jewelry since they were teenagers. I saw his brother when I was out. He told me to tell uncle about it and I would wake up in the morning but I didn't get a chance to say that. I just have to wait to talk to uncle so I can go see Rinko. I have to tell him something from his brother." Then mom finally showed up.

"Mom. You're here. Dad you're here too." "Yes I am here too. I had to see if you were ok of course. Spirit and knight will be right over. They had some things to do. After all they helped find you." "They did?" "Yeah I couldn't run so I wouldn't be able to do anything. So I had spirit and knight run with everyone." "Did anyone get hurt because of me again?" "No honey no one got hurt because of you. Don't worry." Said Orion. "That's good to know. Loki can you turn wolf for me? I'm cold." "Yeah sure." Then everyone left the room for a bit and let her rest She cuddled with Loki for awhile in his wolf form then he felt her calming down which relaxed him down as well.

Uncle Kira and Akela's two brothers finally came by. "How is she?" said uncle. "She is resting with Loki right now. Not that long ago we left. Lets let her sleep for an hour then we can check on her. She said she wanted to see you so she can talk to Rinko. She said she had something to talk to him about." "Ok sure."

An hour later they went to check on her. Uncle and her brothers went in. (knock Knock) "Come in." I said. "Oh your awake. You look well. that's good." Said Kira. "I heard you wanted to talk to Rinko?" "Yeah when I thought I was going to die I saw his brother he wanted me to tell him a few things. I will take you to see him soon." "Hey Spirit and Knight. Sorry to give you guys a hard time." "Hey were used to it. You should know that. How are you feeling?" "I feel fine thanks to this necklace. It suppresses my powers. I don't exactly know how it works but I will ask Rinko when I go over there." Then we talked for awhile until I said, "Hey uncle when can I see Riko? Even if someone carries me I need to talk to him." "Ok let me go ask." Then Kira went out and told them the situation. Leo came in and said, "Since I am your guardian I would say its ok. Just have your uncle carry you ok?" "Hehe I knew it. OK then." Everyone left and Loki helped me change. Then Loki helped me out and uncle picked me up princess style. "Woah uncle. Easy now." "Sorry. I've always wanted to do this to a girl." "Hehe well now you can. Just don't twirl me around ok? I will puke." Then uncle carried me to Rinko's house.

(Knock Knock) "Its Kira. I have someone who wants to talk to you." "Come in then." We went in and Rinko looked up. "Oh I see miss Akela is here. Sit her on the couch." "OK thanks." "So what did you want to tell me about?" Then I told him about his brother and what he said. "I see. He's right. I wouldn't have believed it if someone else told me. I believe you though. Thank you." "Your welcome. Also I want to know since I am here, how does this necklace work? Kira didn't get a chance to tell me I just woke up this morning." "I see yes well. The only things you need to know about this choker is that you won't be able to take it off. Someone else has to do it. The necklace lets you use one power at a time so no other power can get in the way. How are you feeling now?" I flicked my finger and lit it like a candle. "Well its good it works then. Lets see the ice now." Then I put one of my knuckles under ice. "'Very good. At night when the moon is out test it out ok? Remember someone else has to take it off for it to come off so don't freak out if you can't take it off ok?" "Yes sir. Thank you." "I see you still have your fathers necklace." "Yes I do. He said I could keep it." "That's good. It would be more use to you than it would be to him." "That's what he said. Oh also I forgot to tell you something your brother said. He wanted me to forgive you. I thinks that's why he said that thing about the misfits so no one would hurt of kill each other like you tried to do to dad." "Yeah I think your right. He was not one to use violence but use it when necessary he would say." "Yeah I agree with him. I would love to live in a world he dreamed of." "Yeah me too. Listen. I know your dad forgave me already but I want to apologize again for what happened. I really didn't mean for your dad to get it that bad." "I know I understand. You still shouldn't have had someone beat dad up either. It was a surprise attack and dad had me in his arms when they did." "What? They didn't tell me that. I'm sorry I had no idea he couldn't defend himself or else I wouldn't have said anything." "Its over and done with nothing can change the past but we can just move on and make the future better. Do you think so too Rinko?" "Yeah I do. After that I decided not to take revenge anymore. Just let things be." "Hehe I hope so. Oh and I do as your brother says and move on. I would like to say I forgive you as well. I might as well if dad did I guess I can too." "Thank you. That makes me really happy." We talked a bit more then uncle took me home.
