JANE POV
I looked at the cloth Marcus had handed to me. I picked it up and I could hear the strong scent of his fragrance. I decided to stand but ended up falling on the floor. My feet felt very numb and my body felt weak and tired, I could feel my head spinning so hard.
"Do you need help dressing?" I looked up to notice Marcus standing with the kitten in his hand. "Thank you for taking care of sunshine!" I said calmly. "His name is sunshine?" he asked as he dropped the kitten on the bed.
I trembled as I tried to put on my trousers but ceased to function. I peeked up to notice Marcus as he picked me up and put his gaze at the other side of the room, "you can drag them up," he said as I pulled them up before sitting on the bed.
“How is there a bed in the airplane?” I asked, feeling the soft texture of the bed. The bed was soft and I managed to adjust properly, I could feel the weakness of my bones as I carried sunshine on my lap.
I looked up to notice Marcus handing me a cup of water. “Your throat might need this,” he said, handing me the water which I gulped rapidly. I didn't know why Marcus was acting differently towards me, did he bump his head somewhere? I guess he was only putting up a show.
“How are you feeling now?” his voice came.
What if it was the baby that had made me dizzy. I couldn't still bring myself to tell him that I was having Noah's baby.
“I’m fine, I feel better,” I said, staring at the sunshine which kept wiggling her tail.
“Well, I didn't know you were scared of the plane taking off,” He said, taking a seat on the bed and I could feel my breath hitch. “I also didn't know,” I said calmly, only I could hear.
He sat down without saying any word and I felt like I had said something wrong. Why did it even bother me? After a few minutes, he stood up and left me and I could feel all the breath I have been holding free.
I hoped I didn't say anything offensive, I looked at the decorated room, it sure spoke of money. I laid down on the pillow and just like that I was taking a short snooze.
I woke up a few minutes later to hear the noise of the plane like it was about to land any time soon. I stood up feeling much better than before, I was going to thank Marcus for at least taking care of me but I didn't know how to.
I stood up and didn't fall back down which was a relief. I guess I was getting used to the plane already, I pushed the door a little to see him puffing on a stick. What was the puffing of smoke from? Why was the place smelling bad? I turned to notice Marcus smoking out something.
When I opened the door he stared at me and went back to smoking more. I couldn't help it as I kept coughing, “you don't like the smell of cigarettes you can jump through the airplane.” he mumbled making me sick, I thought he was becoming caring? What's up with his attitude?
I didn't reply as I took the seat which I sat in before I collapsed. “Here, you want some?” he asked, making me wiggle my head which indicated a No.
He puffed out one last smoke before hitting it to quench the fire it brought. I was glad he did that, “here, eat some of this and you would feel better.” he mumbled passing me a bandaged cake that he had unwrapped.
“Thank you,” I said as our hands touched and I could feel the waves of shock it sent to my body. I didn't know if he was also feeling what I felt but I instantly relinquished it.
“Are your legs fine now?” he raised a question as he stood up and held my legs to examine them. Was he a doctor? “Did you get mad at what I had said?” I said, looking at him keenly.
“What did you say?” he asked, dropping my legs.
“Nothing,” I said with a smirk, ``Jane, why are you smirking at this horrible man who killed Noah? I asked myself. I looked at him again to notice his curly hair, he had a small mole on his face which made him stand out differently! I wouldn't deny the fact that Marcus was also a handsome man when he wasn't angry.
“The plane just landed,” he said, touching my shoulders and bringing me back to reality. He gazed at me for a few minutes and I could notice the sadness in those eyes, was he also passing through a difficult time?
“You can bring sunshine or you wouldn't see her furthermore,” he said, strolling out of the airplane and leaving me to come after him. The people at the airport kept addressing him as sir like he had paid them off with his wealth.
I couldn't catch his pace as I kept jogging but jammed my body with a man who was body built. I couldn't control myself as I went falling heavily on the floor, I couldn't help it as a girl whip fled my lips
I turned to notice Marcus running towards me. “Why can't you just follow a little instruction and walk behind me?” he yelled at me, drawing everybody else's attention in the airport.
I don't know what this is called but it felt painful to my heart. I couldn't help it as a sob escaped my lips and I could feel the tears spilling like a creek. He stared at me like he was sorry for yelling at me but he didn't apologize.
“Are you okay?” he asked but I ignored him as I stood up and wiped my eyes with the back of my palm. I was going to ask if we can just head on when his strong hands held me up like a bridal way and walked out of the airport.
I was speechless of what this man was evolving.
