Chapter 20
Jason's POV:
When I got the call from Maddie I wasn't really unstable because I knew why she was in the hospital
I knew the secret she had been keeping but she doesn't know that
I quickly arranged the jet so I could reach there as fast as possible
I told Stella though and she was okay with me going
I got to the United States after 2 hours I was so nervous,worried and sad all at once
I decided to call Zander even though he is kind of a jerk or whatever because he really loves Ali but she doesn't see it or know
"Hello"
"Uhm...I don't know how to tell you this but Alice is in the hospital right now at US which she went for her vacation"
"I'll be right there...do you know the name?"
"Yea its*input any hospital name*"
"Alright I'll be there...hope she's fine"
"I don't really know man I'm not even there yet"
"Alright....bye"
I got to the hospital 5minutes after the call and I ran into the emergency ward and I saw Maddie sitting and looking sad
I walked up to her and she immediately wrapped her arms around me and sobbed just like the day I told her mom and dad died
"It's going to be okay Maddie.....nothing is going to happen to her"
I knew I was lying but she was so heartbroken that any truth could hurt her
Few minutes after the doctor was out of her room
"Alice Parker?"
I stood up and went to him
"Yes doctor....how is she?"
"She's fine for now....don't forget to give her drugs and I would really like to speak to you later concerning her chemotherapy"
Immediately he said that the breath that was in me was knocked out and I didn't know how
"Uhm...when should we proceed with it"
"In a month...if it isn't done she would be running in and out of the hospital on a weekly basis"
"Ok doctor...I'll make it possible"I said with tears in my eye
"Make sure she takes her medication....it's very important"
"All that being said....she's awake you can proceed to seeing her"
"Ok doctor thank you"he walked away and I just stood there processing everything I was told
I felt a hand touch me jolting me back to reality and I turned to see Zander looking at me
He didn't really say much to me he only nodded towards Maddie and I understood
I went back to her "what did the doctor say....hope it wasn't what happened to mummy and daddy"she said with tears still running down her face and she looked exhausted from crying
"No baby...she's alright we can see her now....she awake...let's"
Before I could finish my statement Maddie bolted towards the door
I turned to Zander "you'll go in after okay"
"Yea take your time"
I went inside to see Maddie and Ali hugging like it would be their last time
Maddie crying her eyes out and Alice trying to be strong but I knew she really wanted to cry
"Don't ever do that Ali....I told you that you were sick but you didn't listen to me"
"I'm sorry sunshine...you see am alright now"
She gave Maddie a weak smile
"Promise me you won't do that to me again or Jay....your all we have"
Ali looked down playing with her finger nails before replying
"I promise that I won't do that to my sunshine and Jay...f...forever"she gulped after the last part
I cleared my throat so I could be noticed "hey kiddo"
"Hi Jay...how are you?"
"I don't care about me now how are you?"
"I'm fine Jay"
"Uhm Maddie can you excuse us for a minute"
"Yea sure"
Immediately Maddie left she looked at me nervously
"The doctor told you right"
"He told me different things which of them are you asking about"
"Stop playing Jay...I know he told you i heard him telling you"
"I don't know what you are talking about"
Alice's POV:
"I know what you are trying to do Jay and I was gonna tell you,I didn't want you to find out this way"
"It's fine really so tell me what's really going on kiddo"He asked with a sad expression
"I have cancer Jay...I found out when I had my last exams....I wanted telling you but you had a lot on your plate and I didn't want to be a burden Jay"I said finally letting the tears flow
He came over and sat beside me and hugged me right before saying
"You can never be a burden to me Ali....neither of you can be...no matter what I have on my plate always come to me okay?"
"Yea I would....you know I love you"
"I love you too and I'll forever love you"
We stayed in the hug for 10 minutes before he pulled out and said "Uhm....I want to tell you a little confession"
I looked at him urging him to continue "I actually found out you had cancer before the hospital"
My mouth was wide "what?!!!how?"
"Ok before you freak out I went to your room when you were out with Maddie and I saw the hospital paper on your night stand and I read it"
"Wait what!!what were you doing in my room"
He facepalmed himself and said "I knew you were going to ask this question...Stella was over and she didn't bring her extra shorts so I decided to get yours"
"It's cool though I don't mind...hope you aren't mad at me for keeping it a secret"
"Yea am not...I was at first but then your still my kid sister"
We smiled at that and I could say I was really happy
"And Uhm another confession"
"Oh my god Jay if you took another thing from my room I'll kill you"
He laughed "no I didn't...Uhm I kind of called Zander and he is outside waiting to see you"
I became nervous "you'll be fine Ali....I know you like him and he likes you too so stop pushing him away....so you can have the best moments of your life"
"Are you sure he does?"
"I'm very sure kiddo,have you seen the way he looks at you...your lucky to have him and don't forget to let him in on everything"
"Ok I would...thanks"
"Anytime love....see you later...let me take Maddie to your apartment for her to rest "
"Yea thanks Jay...your the best"
"I know you do"I rolled my eyes are him being cocky
He gave me a kiss on my forehead before heading out and few minutes after I heard a knock on my room door and I began preparing myself emotionally and mentally to face Zander
