Sean and Kane were in the shower for over thirty minutes. Gabriel began to pace. “What’s taking so long?”


Dr. Artis answered him. “In cases of rape, it often takes several showers and scrubbings with a rough brush until the victim feels clean. He’ll want to shower again and again when he gets to wherever he’s staying tonight. You’ll have to convince him he’s not dirty, Alpha, but I wouldn’t push him. He’s in a very fragile mental state right now as well as having to contend with his physical injuries which are extremely painful, though not life-threatening. I will strongly suggest that he go home with you, but it would be detrimental to his mental health to force him to do anything at this point. He has been violated. He has to try to reassemble some amount of dignity by regaining control, making his own decisions.”
