Chapter 12

When Glen hung up, Aiden gave him a light hug. “You’ve got that look.”

“What look?”

“The ‘Why do I put myself through this for bastards like them?’ look.”

Glen sighed. “It’s nothing. Just wondering why Max bothers to take days off when he barely works as it is.”

Aiden nodded. “I’ve known a couple actors like that. ‘I’m here, I’m pretty, I know my lines, what more do you want?’ Of course, those are the ones that get shitty reviews because they’ve got the acting talent of a beached whale. You don’t get an award just for showing up, bud.”

That made Glen laugh. Aiden was always good at pulling him out of bad moods. He gave his boyfriend a thankful kiss. “Speaking of showing up, we’d better get our butts in gear before our bosses think we’re no-shows.”
