Just then, the store manager arrived and demanded to know what had happened, since a concerned customer had knocked on his door and told him a fight was about to start at the registers. There were plenty of witnesses to support Tanya’s and Flynn’s side of the story. Fortunately, the manager was sympathetic to Tanya’s condition. He sighed. “I told you there might be some difficult customers,” he said. “I knew you could handle them too, but I didn’t know you had reinforcements.” He clapped Flynn on the shoulder. “Next time, don’t threaten the other customers, just let them know they’ll have to deal with me if they cause any trouble, okay?”

“Okay,” Flynn said, glad he wasn’t really going to be banned from the store.

“Tanya, when are you going to be able to return to restocking?” the manager asked.
