Chapter 22

“Alright then it’s macaroni and cheese for you and cat food for Mommy.” Lynn unbuckled her seat belt and then turned to unclasp Calista’s. It felt so natural to be spending time with Calista and that alone made Lynn question her path in life. In only four months she would turn forty and it seemed that even though she had millions of fans, more money than she knew what to do with, and all the luxuries of a posh existence, she was not happy. The loneliness had slowly begun to eat away at her soul, leaving her feeling broken. Children had never been a major concern for her, until now. Spending time with Calista had placed her life into perspective. Lynn found herself wondering what it would be like to have her own child. She nearly laughed when she thought of how her manager would react to what he would term an ‘absurd idea.’ An image of him pulling what few hairs he had left crossed her mind.

“What’s so funny,” Calista asked when Lynn grasped her hand.
