Chapter 21

She hadn’t been around children very much, except when she used to babysit her sister; however, at that time she had also been a child herself in many ways. The thought of having children had always terrified her after the ordeal with her sister. Evelyn’s cries still haunted her so badly that she could not sleep most nights, which was why she had started to develop slight bags beneath both eyes. Even though Lynn was only thirty-nine, the lack of sleep had caused her to age a bit more than most her age. Still, expensive makeup and night creams did wonders. Her manager had wanted her to go into therapy to deal with her problems, as he always called them—little did he know the truth. No one knew of the nightmares that tormented her. No one knew about her sister Evelyn. It was the only secret the tabloids had managed not to uncover and one she planned to keep hidden.
