“Maybe,” Lynn smiled. She glanced at her watch to check the time. When they had returned to the apartment, Lynn had fixed a casserole and popped it in the oven, so that dinner would be ready when Alexis arrived home. “If she is, I hope she stays awhile. “I can’t imagine being followed like that.” Katie’s hand moved to her mouth.


“I take it this pregnancy is accidental?”

“Why would Alexis be mad at you for being pregnant?” Lynn looked at Katie in confusion. The unseen connection that lingered between them continued to leave Lynn perplexed.
