Chapter 68

“Does his fiancée know he’s spending the evening in the company of the Other Woman?”

“‘Other Woman’?”

“You heard me.”

“You’ve been telling me for weeks that I need to get a grip on myself, that my relationship with Josh is all in my imagination, and suddenly now I’m the Other Woman? Has he told you something he hasn’t been telling me? Surely even engaged guys with kids are allowed the occasional night out, just the guys, away from the family.”

“‘Just the guys’?”

“You heard me.”

“You’re talking about him going to opening night of a drag-show musical about Judy Garland at a community theater with a guy whose goal in this life is to get into his pants. I’m not sure that’s what most engaged guys with kids mean when they go out with the guys.”

“Oh, Katie, you get so hung up on these little details!”

She rolled her eyes. “Would you just be careful? I don’t want you to start something with this guy that you’re not going to be able to finish.”
