Chapter 117

“What time is it?” he asked.

Ash shone the light on her watch. “Almost midnight.”

“When did we get here? Yesterday?”

Dayna covered him up with the T-shirt. “Thursday at eight or nine o’clock.”

“So I slept all Thursday night and all day Friday and tomorrow is Saturday. I must have been tired.”

“I’m so sorry, Kevin,” Ash said, kneeling beside him. “We’ll stay here until you’re better. I’m going to make some plans for when it rains. Maybe we could at least get an umbrella or something. And we’ll think of all the ways we could make or find shelter.”

Kevin settled himself more comfortably on the benches and yawned. “Maybe we can make a tent out of the blankets,” he said, and then he drifted off to sleep.
