Chapter 57

Stunned by the blow, the creature shoved itself toward Airk. When it roared, its cry of fury pierced the night. A window above Jaelin opened, then a familiar face peered out. “Hessyana!”Ikpikpuktok cried and reached down. “Let me help you in.”

The glance was all the creature needed to reopen its attack; it lunged for the exposed outlaw as Dreux, the last inside, was pulled to safety.

“Airk!” Shaela cried.
