Chapter 19

“That it is,” Tom said. “Josh and his friend Zeke were down here the other day practicing. If there’s nothing else, I’ll see you kids Sunday morning at the usual time.”

On the way back to my apartment, I kept thanking Bobby and Chad until Bobby said, “Enough, already, we gay guys have to stick together, right?”

“Yeah,” I said.

“How’s it going with Zeke?” Chad said.

“He’s been coming over after work and spending the night every night,” I said. “And I’m loving it. I’ve never had so much sex.”

“Nothing wrong with that,” Bobby said.

“Yeah,” Chad said.

They insisted on walking me to the door, which opened as I was fumbling for the keyhole.

“Hello,” Sally said. “How was choir practice?”

“Great,” I said.

I introduced her to Bobby and Chad, and we invited them in for a glass of wine. They accepted, and we sat around talking for quite a while. I’d just finished my second glass when the doorbell rang.

“That will be Romeo,” Sally said. “I’ll let him in.”
