Chapter 10

After a short wait, we were shown to a table. As soon as the waitress had taken our orders and disappeared from sight, Clarence said, “You guys watch the news last night?”

“We watched Channel 6,” I said, “and they didn’t cut the interview up too badly.”

“I saw that. I also taped Channel 9 and watched it later, but I wish I hadn’t.”

“Why?”

“Because they edited everything so heavily that it didn’t make a whole lot of sense.”

“Unfortunately, that happens a lot,” I said. “Not much we can do about it.”

“Lieutenant,” Carl said, “can you get a copy of a DVD made for us?”

“Sure,” Clarence said. “Why?”

“Because we’ve got a DVD that’s supposed to have the talent contest on it from Friday night.”

“Seeing Tommy in drag might help your sketch artist,” I said, “now that I think about it.”

“I’ll take it with me,” Clarence said, “and by the time you get downtown with that bartender, I’ll have a copy, and you can have this one back.”
