When the phone at the other end was answered, he said, “Malcolm Murphy please.”

“One moment, and I’ll connect you.”

“Mr. Murphy’s office.”

“Hi, Joan. This is Brody. Is he in?”

“Yes he is. I’ll put you through.”

“Malcolm Murphy.”

“Hi, Dad. Are you free for the next hour or so?”

“I don’t have any appointments for the rest of the day, Brody. What’s up?”

“I got a Registered Letter in the mail today.”

“And?”

“Remember me telling you about that accident up near Macon?”

“The one where you saved a guy’s life?”

“Yeah. He’s suing me.”

“Why?”

“It seems that the tourniquet did some damage to his leg. Tourniquets can be problematic—it’s not uncommon.”

“Better that than bleeding to death.”

“Dad, this is serious stuff.”

“Can you come see me right now.”

“I’ll be there in thirty minutes.”
